Very inaccurate exercise tracking

My fitbit appears to be recording my exercise very inaccurately. I did a group run and everyone else's smart watches recorded 10k at a pace of 9 mins and mine recorded just under 9k at 10mins. This is with auto pause off. I also didn't an interval class with auto pause off under the run option and it recorded 1.23 miles and everyone else's recorded 3.5 miles! My splits are also recorded in an odd way with them repeating the same data continuously. I don't tend to take my phone when exercising and I have a hauwei P20. Any advice?

It could be the GPS tracking feature, if you have your phone with you, it uses the phone to track GPS, and distance. If you didn't have the phone, it'll estimate distance. Perhaps, others have the GPS tracking built right into their units and have more accurate readings. The fitbit needs the phone to get GPS readings on to the units, this could cause a little lag in reading as it has to record, and transfer. I never really understood how distance could be collected without a GPS, but somehow, it can estimate it. I Think once fitbit Versa becomes more google intuitive, lets hope and pray, the GPS feature will fire up to undeniable accuracy. If you like to run outside, do like I do, get an armband to put your phone inside of so you can see your route. Hope that helps a little bit.
