What's the difference between Screen Wake and Quick View?-Versa

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am trying to figure this out.  It appears that Screen Wake and Quick view accomplish the same function, that is, they allow the device to display with wrist movement.  Screen Wake is accessed through the Fitbit app (Apple iOS); Quick View is accessed through the device itself.

Am I correct here?  If so, then Fitbit should not have two names for the same function.  That is confusing and not logical.

What I am trying to do is find a way totally  turn off the device display unless I tap it or push the single button.  On my Alta and Charge, if you turned off quick view, the device would never display.  Meanwhile, the Versa, whatever way you have disabled the wrist movement function, turns on anyway.  Try gently tapping the device on a hard surface.

I see there is an option to turn the Versa off; I am presuming that it will not track steps, etc. when it is turned off.

Any assistance/clarification will be helpful.

The function on the Charge 2 is called Quick View and is set in the App Settings.  It is called Screen Wake on the Versa and is set on the watch by a long press of the left button where Auto or Manual is selected. Manual  setting then requires a button push or screen tap to activate the screen.

If you prefer as you hinted to completely deactivate the Versa, you can swipe left to Settings, then About and then Shutdown which completely turns off the watch which will have to boot up when you are ready to start it.

Well, I can clearly state that I have the quick view function in my iOS Fitbit app for the installed Versa.  And it is functional and works. So does the Screen Wake on the device.  Not really a problem, but interesting.

Hard to believe but I'll take your word for it.

I can confirm that the same setup is present on Android as well. If I switch Screen Wake to Manual on the Versa, Quick View is also turned off in the app. Not logical to have different names for the exact same function, which it seems to be.

I have no proposed solution, but I can also confirm that I'm having the same issue with the watch screen waking up when Screen Wake is set to manual (or Quick View is turned off).
