Why does it track your arm movements? If you work a lot with your hands, it’s not accurate for actual step

It's not that it's tracking arm movements, it's tracking movement of the fitbit and that just happens to be strapped to your arm. Having tracked movement it then has to try and work out if that movement was the result of a step or just random arm movement. It's not a precise science and it sometimes gets it wrong.

Make sure you have dominant wrist setting set properly, just in case it got over looked.
