Workouts not logging since update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Ever since updating my Versa my workouts have stopped tracking accurately. I did 2x 17 minute weight workouts and it tracked it as only 25 minutes? It had only logged 7 minutes for the one? I did a 40 minute workout and it logged it as 30? I've just done an 8 minute ab workout and it's not logged any active minutes at all? Not at all happy. The main reason I upgraded to a Versa was so I could track my weight training & none walking activity. Also notice that my Versa isn't updating on screen until i sync it to the app.

Hi, do you have the latest update of the Fitbit iOS, e.g. .30? Which phone are you using, is it compatible with Fitbit (see: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2315/?q=compatible&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1 )?

Hey @darkrosieposie, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! Let me explain to you how the Versa records active minutes. This uses metabolic equivalents (METs). METs help measure the energy expenditure of various activities. Because they do so in a comparable way among persons of different weights, METs are widely used as indicators for exercise intensity. For example, a MET of 1 indicates a body at rest. Fitbit devices estimate your MET value in any given minute by calculating the intensity of your activity. You earn active minutes for activities at or above about 3 METs.  To stay in line with the Center for Disease Control's (CDC’s) “10 minutes at a time is fine” concept, minutes are only awarded after 10 minutes of continuous moderate-to-intense activity. You can view the CDC’s recommendations on the CDC website

If the same activity gives you active minutes one day and fewer active minutes the next day, remember that the intensity of exercise is key. Often what seems like the exact same amount of effort over the same distance in fact differs slightly enough to change your active minutes total.

In other words, active minutes will be recorded depending on the duration and intensity of your exercise.

Now in regards of the screen not updating, try to restart your Versa.

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks for the reply. I've owned various fitbits over the last 4 years so know how the active minutes work. I'm actually referring to the exercise app in my post, not how active minutes track. I do a lot of weight lifting so active minutes are only tracked if I use the exercise app. Before the update it tracked and logged exact but since then it's taking minutes away when it feels I'm not moving even though my heart rate is above 160 due to the intensity. I start & end the workout, it says 17 minutes but logs it as 7 even though it says 17 minute workout.

Have tried the restart 3 times. Currently trying to figure it out with Fitbit.

Thanks for the clarification @darkrosieposie! And for trying to restart your Versa to make it log your activity accurately. Why don't you try to log out and log back in to your Fitbit account. Also, you can try to clean the app cache. In addition, I'd like you to take a look at your exercise on your PC Dashboard and let me know if there are minutes missing.

I'll be around!
