Are there any clock faces that aren't always on for the Versa 2? Using the always on seems to really drain the battery. Thanks much.

There are only a few that are always-on.  The vast majority are not.

From main clock face, scroll right (swipe left) to 'Settings'.  Tap that and scroll down to 'Always-On Display' to turn it off.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
