heart rate zone problem

  • I am curious as to why Fitbit is using an obscure method to determine heart rate zones? For what it's worth, Fitbit and the Mayo clinic use heart rate reserve to determine maximum heart rate and they are the only ones doing it! This method would be great for athletes but my resting heart rate is between 54 and 57. Because of this it pushes my numbers super high in order just to get to fat burn. The American Heart Association doesn't even use the same formula. I trust the American Heart Association because those are the same numbers my doctor provided me when I shared the nonsense Fitbit was pushing. See for yourself.
