I blew up at Coach today. 😆 For at least the fifth or sixth time, the Coach has incorrectly adjusted my plan based on information from 4-5 months ago when I had minor surgery. It was awesome at the time that it accounted for it, but now it will randomly bring it back up and tell me it's giving me a gentle recovery plan for the week to compensate for my recent surgery. I've told it to stop doing this multiple times and it says, "sorry, yes, I'll remember this going forward" but it does not. I've had similar problems with the regular Gemini model, so I'm assuming that this is a similar weakness in the Coach model. It is really frustrating though because it seems unable to consistently remember some of these things I tell it. Another example is that I've told it the exact breakdown of adjustable dumbbells that I have and it will adjust my plan one week to not give me a weight I don't have, but then the next week it's back, even though I've told it to remember it going forward, it keeps forgetting that info even though it lies to me and tells me it will. (Also despite remembering my surgery from November, lol.) There really needs to be a way to have Coach better remember these things, be transparent about them, and then remove information that's no longer relevant.

Hello @Spaceghostinme
I suggest checking the Coach's notes and delete the reference to your surgery:
Another option is to tap the Ask Coach icon and tell the Coach that you are fully recovered from your surgery. Doing this should remove this piece of health info that the Coach shouldn't refer to it again. This is what I did when I was in a walking boot. I told the Coach that I stopped wearing the boot so that it would no longer reference that bit of health info in the summaries/Coach.
Not sure what to do about the weights, though. That does seem to be a bug.

I had done the latter, but didn't realize I could see the notes. I've tried removing it there and we'll see if that fixes it. Thank you!

You're welcome, @Spaceghostinme .
It's really interesting what you discover when you tap the vertical buttons on the various pages. Like most people, I noramlly look at the immediate information. Every now and then, I notice the 3 vertical dots and think...hmmm, I wonder what menu opens when I tap them?

Well, this still didn't fix it. I have removed all notes about the surgery and my plan for this week still is referencing it. At this point, my Coach is broken I think. It's bringing it up almost daily at this point. I can't find anything that references this anywhere now (thanks to your advice), but it's still remembering it somehow.

@Spaceghostinme I had the same issue with the Public Preview remembering the wrong things forever. I live at 7200 feet elevation and made a 10-day trip to sea level last autumn. For several months afterwards, it keep trying to give me advice on altitude acclimatization. (After a short trip like that, it takes 2 or 3 days to reacclimatize after I return to the mountains.)
Like you, I tried everything to get it to stop remembering things that are ancient history. Nothing worked, but it eventually stopped doing that on its own.

Thanks for the update, @Spaceghostinme . Sorry to see that the Coach is still referring to your surgery even though you've removed all the references.
I hope you're leaving feedback in the app each time the Coach references your surgery, both on the Coach summary and using the Feedback option in the Fitibit app:
Although it's likely that you won't receive a response, we've gotten confirmation that the team reviews every submitted feedback report and uses the information to improve the Public Preview version.
