Hi everyone,
I’ve been thinking about how to make nutrition tracking more seamless within the Fitbit ecosystem. Currently, manual food logging can be quite time-consuming, which often leads to users (including myself) dropping the habit after a few days.
With the integration of Google's Gemini AI, I believe there is a massive opportunity to revolutionize this. I would love to see a Photo Food Logging feature added to the Fitbit Public Preview.
I feel that leveraging Gemini's multimodal capabilities would add incredible value to the Premium subscription and make health tracking much more effortless and "smart."
Not only would this make the process much faster, but it would also likely be more accurate than manual estimation for many users. Since Google already has the Gemini infrastructure, implementing this into the Fitbit app should be relatively straightforward.
Adding this would give Fitbit Premium a huge boost in value. There are standalone AI food-tracking apps out there that cost almost as much as a full Premium subscription just for this one feature. Bringing this to Fitbit would make the subscription much more competitive.
