Not able to add a workout for Sunday

ANSWERED

I've tried to get the AI to add a workout to my workout plan for Sunday, but no matter what it resets it back to a rest day. Not sure if it's because Sunday has passed for this week or if by default Sunday has to be a rest day. Have tried different screens when asking the AI and different prompts but appears to have the same result

@Twinheart I think you're right. I can add a workout to Sunday, because Sunday hasn't come yet for me in my week. If Sunday has already happened in your current week, it makes sense that you wouldn't be able to add a workout on that day. Sunday is next week for you and the app won't let you adjust things after the current week. That's why I start my week in Monday. I don't like to break up the weekend.

On Saturday evening, the app will give you a workout plan for next week. If there's anything that doesn't work for you, you can tell it to change it. That's the time to add your Sunday workout, if it's not already there.

@Twinheart does your week start on Sunday or Monday? Mine starts on Monday and I do have a workout scheduled for next Sunday. I also had a workout assigned yesterday, so I'm not sure why it won't add something on Sunday. Are you using the "Make changes" chat in the "Fitness" tab?

@alexthecat previous before the preview I had it set to Sunday. The preview may have changed it to Monday. I've asked the AI to change it to start from Sunday if that was the issue and it said it had changed it but even after closing the app it doesn't appear to change. I've done this from the today tab, adjust my plan, from the ask my coach on the today tab, today tab view plan and then adjust or discuss plan and neither of those seemed to do the trick. I got the preview today so I didn't yet leave the today tab. I'll give the fitness tab and try and maybe that'll do the trick. So far I have a feeling I might have to wait until it's actually Sunday to add a workout to that day

@alexthecat yeah, that's what I'll try and see if it works. Oddly, when I discuss my workout plan it shows how it plans out my workouts for the next 6 weeks. So I expected it to change the Sundays for those other weeks as well but doesn't appear so. I guess even tho I can see into the future of my plan it won't allow me to change it until Saturday when it shows my plan for next week.

I'm not opposed to seeing a weekly plan and then a monthly. Granted at the moment I'm probably testing it out more then intended for this stage. I modify my workouts monthly for weight training between high rep low weight and low rep high weight and then rotating the type of cardio I'm doing (runs, biking/cycling, rowing machine, etc). I'm not sure it can plan that far ahead currently.

@Twinheart that's what I've seen as well. It will give me an outline for the next six weeks. If I ask for more specific details beyond the current week, it says that it needs to see data from this week's workouts first. It's a little difficult if you're used to planning things months in advance.

I fought on a Sunday morning to get the plan week to start on Sunday.  It wouldn't adjust the current weeks plan, that started on Monday. It said the following weekly plans will have Sunday as the first day.   We'll see.

Good news for you is that it appears to have worked for me. The week now starts on Sunday granted some of the prompts I get say Sunday was the last day of the week but I think that is just general beta stuff. About to make a post of something else I noticed where I can't access weight training details like sets and weights. Also had a few workouts after I submitted them not show correctly after the fact in regard to exercises. And finally, I tried to see unpair a workout and that didn't exactly work either. It kind of glitched out and showed that I no longer did the workout in the weeks workouts but it also showed that I did it in recent activity. The AI seemed to believe I did it so that's what I generally go by. Some of the today prompts have also been.... Wrong but it is a preview so I'm expecting a lot of issues and hope they'll be resolved eventually

Yes, my second week did start on Sunday as I had requested.

  1. I haven't kept track but throughout the Google ecosystem I've had a few places where I identify my week as starting on Sunday. Some I recall are Fitbit App, Fit App, and third one, maybe Google Calendar? I assume one of these actually makes the change, but I'm concerned the others might have some influence in confusing things.
  2. The 2nd week, which did begin on Sunday, suggested a run.   I completed the run as it advised. Then the AI coach gave me feedback.  It repeatedly wrote "The run you did yesterday on Sunday November 9, 2025 was great, etc." I wrote back that it was incorrect as the workout (and date) was "Today" It replied acknowledging its error and rewrote it all as "..Today on Sunday November 9, 2025

I have a hunch that there are multiple calendars involved and a week's 'starting dates" in the AI-Coach needs to be clarified.
