Looking at their website of na art watches, it appears nowhere https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/products/smartwatches so, It looks like they are phasing it out altogether, so I wonder how long you will enjoy it before they kick it out and you are left with a terrible hangover 😵! --
The fact that this isn't already a feature is such bs tbh. I've had the Inspire HR for a couple of years but I wanted to take the full step into a smart watch. I've only had my versa 4 for a week and I started to think how weird it is that I can't control my music with it. I read something about not being able to download songs on it as compared to the versa 3 before I bought it, but I figured that wasn't a dealbreaker for me. But to not be able to download a single app outside of fitbits own is completely insane! Why the hell would I get a smart watch instead of an activity band if I can't use other apps than fitbits own? This watch does the exact same thing as the Inspire HR, only it's 3x the price and a different shape. I really don't want to return it but I probably will now, the Inspire HR worked fine for me for what it was. I'm extremely disappointed in fitbit and their lack of transparency! If Google is trying to kill off the fitbit brand why not just shut down the company outright instead of creating badwill and driving customers away. It's not like we'd be more open to buying a **ahem** Pixel watch when we know this is how they do business!
I wish I didn't hate the garmin app, their watches are much better in every way. Does anyone have any recommendations of other smartwatches to keep an eye on? Not samsung, I'm an iphone user.
If you can live with limited battery life, then the answer is easy: Apple's watch. If it worked with Android I would have brought it eons ago.
If Sense 2 / Versa 4 were not crippled products Google would still NOT loose any Pixel watch sales to Fitbit. No-one, who buys a Fitbit would switch to a Pixel watch for several reasons: Battery life, battery life and battery life. Not to mention all the apple users, who for some idiotic reason is not considered a market by Google.
I’ve been trying my hardest to avoid the Apple Watch because of the battery issue but it’s starting to feel inevitable now. It’s really annoying how there are so many small brands with products that sound great on paper, with 14+ days battery life and all the functionality your heart desires, but there are no reviews to find, minimal support if needed, and vague descriptions of data processing. I asked one company and was told that what they do with my data is their business! Instead we’re stuck with companies like google that give us half-functioning products and they pretend it’s the bees knees. I’m so fed up!
Just one example: Apple limits many functionalities to third parties devices to keep them for its Apple Apple Watch (for example the possibility to send messages). If Pixel Watch was released also for iPhone users users would have complained about the limited features compared to Apple Watch. Google shall be blamed for how they're managing Fitbit but let's no say Apple is an angel because it's far from it.
@YojanaFitbit We really would like a reply this issue - or what is the point of these forums. It feels like a total waste of time. If not, how do we escalate a complaint further please?
I am now ramping up to selling my Charge 4 and my Sense 2 (and trust me, this is not an empty threat) on the second-hand market. I've been reviewing the Garmin products and, while they are considerably more expensive, I would rather have them with good support and features than to deal with Fitbit and how they've handled this matter (and their paying consumers). Vote with your wallets.
I just saw an article that FitBit is pulling support for Pandora and Deezer from older Versa's and the Sense. I'm pretty sure this is a dead topic and we're all screaming into the abyss.
Even if they are pulling support for some features, Fitbit (who have sold us all devices under the pretence of having 3rd party apps (at least when i ordered mine)) should still reply to their customers.
I'm bothered about not having the watch that was advertised to me but not nearly as much as having zero response from a company on their own forums when this many people are asking for advice.
I'm way past my 14 day return window now but I would urge anyone looking at smart watches to just not bother with Fitbit or pixel watches.
"Deezer and Pandora downloads were never available on Fitbit's latest smartwatches, the Sense 2 and the Versa 4. In fact, these new watches don’t support any third-party apps at all, which was a selling point of their predecessors."
If they are going to abandon third party apps and drop pandora and deezer could you at least give us the ability to change a song on these fitbits. I’m training for a half marathon and pulling out my phone to change a song is very annoying. Sad to say it seems the end of Fitbit is near.
There are many articles on the internet now stating older fitbits including the Versa. 2 and Versa 3 will have their music features stripped off them March 31st 2023. You will still be able to control music on your watch, however, you can no longer download music to the watch or download third party music apps. I think the writing is on the wall. The Versa 4 will likely not be receiving any third party features. I returned mine and bought a Galaxy 4 watch for the same price. This watch has all the functionality of the smartwatch and the fitness tracking and app are amazing and free to access all features.
It looks like I made a rash purchase of the Sense 2. My versa 2 has battery issues, so decided to upgrade. However, I'm just finding out now that it was a poor move with the limited apps and functionality.
I think I will now be returning the watch and looking for a replacement model ... which is unlikely to be fitbit/google ☹️
Philbo64, Search youtube on battery replacement. I have a Fossil that had a failing battery, the reason I bougt the Fitbit. Found a replacement battery on AliExpress for $25. It was fiddly work and hard to see, but it holds a charge like new and I have no more need for the fitbit.
Hi everyone, and thanks for sharing your thoughts about this request. As you may know, the Feature Suggestions board is a place where you can share the ideas that you wish to see in the future, so our developers can take them into consideration.
At this moment, this request has been reviewed by our Fitbit moderation team, and we'll update the status of this suggestion once we have more information from our development team. To learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released, please see our FAQs.
@LizzyFitbit, Sorry for shouting, but this is NOT JUST A REQUEST/SUGGESTION! We are desperately trying to make clear that we are very, very disappointed (understatement) about our new smartwatches. We feel misguided, these watches do not deserve the name smartwatch.
Very frustrated to find no add on apps for the Fitbit Sense 2. I expected to be upgrading from my Sense, but I could keep my gym & grocery store cards on my previous Fitbit. If you won’t allow 3rd party apps, please make a barcode app! I consider this a necessity for gym goers!
This isn't a feature suggestion, we have been mis-sold a product(s), these are KEY features we expected when we purchased the 'smart watches'.
The features we are discussing already existed, and have been removed from the newer devices, someone has made that decision, maybe an explanation would help rather than saying someone will look at it at some point.
This isn't a small topic its huge throughout your forums, every other topic is add a weather app/ add a music app, so I personally feel like fitbit are completely disregarding the requests of many of your customers.
I paid for a top of the range smart watch, nearly £300 that has the same features than if I spent £85 on a tracker.
I would suggest fitbit get someone from management involved in this forum that can give us a definitive answer, before people start looking into consumer regulations around misleading advertisement.
