I know unless things change, this will be the last Fitbit I ever own. And sure won’t be supporting Googles other product, more than likely my next tracker will be the Garmin
In the past I chose Fitbit as a good option instead of the Iwatch (too expensive for a smartwatch), but now......I'm reconsidering the idea, I need a smartwatch with apps, not only a tracker. Apple is expensive but they sell you what they offer....
regression from the previous version!!! I hope not permanent and hoping for this reversal to get all apps back. Seems 3rd party apps push only for WearOS from now on and Fitbit OS??
@Kanga17 Nice to meet you. Let’s not take it too personal. They always censor according to some strange rules. They also removed a few of my posts. But since many users subscribed to this topic, they received email notifications and hear you loud and clear.
Personally I wouldn’t have got my Sense 2 if I knew 3rd apps aren’t supported. But it is pretty certain that Google or Fitbit wouldn’t change their direction on this one.
Just upgraded to a versa 4 and absolutely gutted that third party apps are not supported. I use Spotify on my old versa regularly and expected it to be supported on versa 4. Will definitely be returning the watch. It was a decision between a new fitbit or a samsung watch. Made my decision for me!
I had to return my versa 4 because the communication with 3rd party apps is essential for my day to day use. I can't understand what fitbit are waiting for! Getting loads of complaints daily, but nothing has been so far...
Bought yesterday the Sense 2, as being the most expensive watch from Fitbit and with the tag "by Google" I was expecting a full compatibility with Android and Google products. I'm deeply unsatisfied and I will return it tonight.
This whole thing is a serious legal false advertising issue and I am beyond disgusted.
The sense 2 and versa 4 were advertised with "hundreds of apps" and they have none!!!! Its not a smartwatch at all.
its just a tracker with a few clock faces! I only kept my Sense 2 because customer support told me that 3rd party apps were eventually going to be available.
Otherwise it would have gone straight back to the store.
5 months later and now apparently apps are being removed from older models too!!!
It seems Google is purposely stripping Fitbit of its features to force people to buy their pixel watch.
Shame on Google!
Considering the constant complaints about this, you'd think some compromise would have been made by now!
I feel like i completely wasted money on the most expensive fitbit (excluding pixel) and got no features.
It is a massive downgrade from previous models.
We have all been scammed and something NEEDS to be done!!!!!
All we get is "thank you for your feedback" nonsense.
Right, if you want to compete with other massive watch brands (like apple) you NEED 3rd party app support! The moderator said there needs to be more support regarding this topic. Well, there are hundreds of posts about 3rd party app support. How come Versa 3 gets 3rd app support but the latest watch doesn't? is'nt this watch supposed to be an upgrade? feels like a downgrade. Its been nearly 9 months since this watch has been released!
ps; give us 3rd party app support and be more transparent!
Presicely because it has been 9 months since release it should be pretty obvious by now: 3th party app support is not coming to versa 4 and sense 2. Fitbit smartwatches no longer exist.
So sell your watch or return it if you still can and don't look back.
Just bought versa 4, I just assumed it supported 3rd party apps like previous versions, I bought off amazon there was no mention of downgrade in description. I am returning it now, as I cannot use tennis app I wanted to use. Pretty stupid decision, false advertising and a waste of my time.
I received my Fitbit Sense 2 just today, and had purchased one for myself as well as my girlfriend. Discovering that Fitbit has disallowed the use of third party apps is immensely disappointing and makes me want to return it.
I had the sense 2 before and then I just got a new one because my old 1 quit working.I am amazed to find out I cannot download any applications to my new watch.I could do this before. Why did Fitbit take it away?
The only reason I purchased the Versa 4 was because I was led to believe that I could still control my Spotify account with it, Feel really cheated now because I can't. Think I may have to return and go to a company that does support it. 😠😠
I have had a Fitbit, Versa 1, Versa 2, and now the Versa 4. My husband bought it for me, to provide heart monitoring. Now I find out I can't access my calendar or run other apps and am disappointed. What makes it worse, is that it looks like these have been a known issue for a long long time, and no progress is being made. Hence the question - Are they planning on ever addressing these deficiencies?
3rd party apps would be nice to trial. See how it goes. There’s nothing else appealing in Fitbit right now. The groups were also d/c’d for which there was some appeal there. All those other things are just so blah!
Coming from a Versa 2 to a Versa 4 here. Upgraded because they finally brought back rose gold but like everyone else on this thread, I was disappointed to find out that the Versa 4 (and apparently Sense 2 too) doesn't support third party apps. I used to be able to change my Spotify playlist on my watch, I had the Toothbrushy (pretty cool app rather than just two min timer as it vibrates to ensure you brush your teeth evenly), Starbucks, Calculator... There are also apps to help people train for 5k (C25k Trainer). I don't buy Fitbit just for the exercise especially for the price tag as competitors offer so much more. If there is no update in the next thirty days, I'm probably returning this Versa 4 and going back to my Versa 2 which at the moment, feels significantly better than this "new and improved" version.
I bought the sense 2 over the sense believing it’s always best to buy the latest version. I didn’t think it would be a step backwards. I am now unable to use my Fitbit with the Fiit or FitOn apps. Please get this sorted so third parties can link their apps.
Aww C'mon Fitbit what is this.. I saved for months to finally get the versa 3 which was one of the best smart watches I have used, then I managed to finally get the versa 4 just to find out it can't even simply skip a track in Spotify.. why even call it a smart watch when all it does now is basically tell you the time, if i wanted a normal watch to do that I would've just purchased a cheap digital watch off Amazon.. music it one of the biggest parts of exercise, it helps you stay motivated and to take that away from us is in my opinion just wrong and a wasted opportunity to improve yourselfs.. why go backwards instead of forward with your company.. I don't like to use the word scammed but I feel like myself and others who have bought the versa 4 have just been scammed.. I will keep using the versa 3 for now with the 4 tucked away in a dark corner until hopefully you come to your senses and just bring back 3rd party app support for us your loyal customers please Fitbit do the right thing.
I had no idea that the Sense 2 didn't have music capability ... I spent hour looking at different options to upgrade and was excited when I got my Sense 2 today. Now I'm debating returning it. I've been a fitbit user for about 3 years or so and really didn't want to switch companies... but if they are not allowing music options at all? Not worth it. 100% support adding the capability in an upgrade.
Seeing how this thread started in 2022 and its now June 2023, I don't think fitbit is listening...
