Restore the ability to install 3rd party apps on the Versa 4 as was possible in previous versions of the watch.

Without the ability to install 3rd party apps makes these 2 latest models (I have sense2) have less functionality than the predecessors. After upgrading from the versa 2 I can no longer continue using apps like fiit.
Time to move away from fitbit

Just upgraded?? From the original versa to versa 4.  So disappointed to find out I can't control my music or install my fav apps.  And fitbit didn't even include a simple calendar for the watch since I can't add it.   Alexa can tell me certain things but I have to talk to get the info instead of just looking.   As for the music,  it was really handy when kayaking since my phone is under watertight cover.   At a minimum a calander and music controls would be nice, but I also miss the barcode app!

Fitbit lost their minds and thought they could invent whatever anyone
needed.

Didn't realize the versa and sense 2 were a downgrade in functionality. Regretting my purchase and wishing my sense 1 still worked. And no, I'm not going to buy your pixel watch because you killed this, I don't want a watch I have to charge every night.

Is there a way I could unsubscribe receiving email notifications for this product feedback? There are around 2K votes and I don't think there would be any update eventually. Thanks.

I have the same opinion on the Pixel Watch.  After what happened with the Versa 4 and the Sense 2, I won't even consider the watch. The biggest issue is having to charge it everyday. I understand that this is a 1st world problem, but seriously. that is a deal breaker right there.

As a new versa 4 user im very disappointed that 3rd party apps (spotify in particular) are not supported. Like many comments I just want to control music (skip, replay, turn up volume) using my watch during my workout.

please do something about this

Fitbit is a mess since Google took it over. Nearly a year later they won't give us a straight answer about 3rd party apps and music control etc for sense 2/versa 4....

And to add insult to injury, the mods are ignoring us or will edit your post when you call Fitbit out like this!

this thread has the 2nd highest votes and still nothing has been done, nor even a proper answer or explanation. The chat support team just copy and paste from a script. it seems Fitbit are determined to destroy their own reputation and deliberately crash and burn. but they don't care coz they got a big cheque from google.

This post has over 1000 upvotes… I’m pretty sure every Fitbit user wants this feature. It just makes sense, the verse 3 has 3rd party app support, and the latest watch (Versa 4) doesn’t. Developers please work on this to satisfy the users needs in order to have a happy user base. Please.

Since this much time has passed, it's obvious FITBIT is NOT going to add
3rd party apps back into either watch.

Hi CaloSack,

Agreed, as much as we [the customers] have been begging and imploring them
to add this feature back to both "smartwatches" it has been months and none
of the moderators have even acknowledged us. It baffles me that they still
call the Sense 2 a smartwatch when it is a glorified fitness tracker.

There are plenty of tech sites that give it a poor rating and say that FB
should rename it to a "advanced fitness tracker." And I get that the mods
don't make decisions when it comes to the abilities and features of these
products but it would be nice if they were just honest with us and told us
that they have no intention of adding 3rd party app support back.

Just my two cents.

Have tried giving the watch a try for a couple of week and it is still one big disappointment. This is the last Fitbit/google device I ever buy. There are so many other options on the market now. I remember when Fitbit was the leading fitness tracker and now they are trash and considering fitbit nor google support have not even replied in this thread since Oct 2022 shows they do not care what the client base wants. Guess its time to buy the family new watches this upcoming holiday season.

Please correct me if I am wrong. This thread clearly shows Fitbit isn’t collecting any user feedback from this feature request not cares about existing user base anymore.

Does anyone expect Fitbit will release a Sense 3 or Versa 5?

I hope not! They need to sort out all of these requests and update the Sense 2 to be a smart watch.

They will probably discontinue all of the Fitbit Sense and Versa as these are not smart watches just glorified expensive fitness trackers.

Still can’t do music control, still can’t do payments as card isn’t compatible. Still haven’t got anything out of this thread I joined when I got the watch which is nearly 12 months ago.

My wife has just bought the Versa 4 and she is incredibly upset that her watch seems to be worse than my Versa 3. I can control Spotify and I have the HUGELY valuable flashlight app on my watch, neither of those things she can use because someone in Google thought it was a good idea to remove third-party app support.

She can't even return it because she's opened the box so she's now stuck with this thing that doesn't want and it doesn't even do what her Versa 1 did!

Please restore third party support immediately. This is beyond ridiculous. Obviously everyone wants this feature. You're only damaging your own products and user base by continuing to do this!

The insane thing is that according to Fitbit's own feedback policies, they should have resolved this issue months ago and allowed access to the hundreds of apps on the Fitbit Gallery (including their own Agenda App). It meets their criteria. the scale and impact of this issue is huge and everyone on the boards agrees. So why is Fitbit continuing to ignore the issue and not even giving an explanation.

We are not asking for them to create new apps, just unlock access for sense 2 and versa 4 to the EXISTING apps. When is Fitbit going to actually acknowledge this and give an actual timeline!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the point of having the development bridge on these devices if they can't even be used?

This is really disappointing to see. I upgraded my versa only to find that it does not have these third party apps. This looks like a decision in backwards direction. I was really hoping to have better apps interface and more useability out this watch. We all love fitbit for its fitness tracking, but apps supp is a must. If you guys think it is not in line with your company values, release 2 separate model, one with apps and one without. Let people choose.

I will be returning my versa 4 until a decision is made. I can wait till my old versa dies.

Wow.  All 3 of my versas have bricked, and considering what to do next.   Highly unlikely I will buy another fitbit, especially after this news!!

Wow. The screen breaks off my Versa 2 over the weekend and I think to myself "I guess I get to upgrade to the latest and greatest". But what do I find out after getting it and trying to install the apps and watch faces I had before. A big NO not available for your device. WTF google/fitbit?!?!!?! We should be moving forward with abilities with our devices not backwards. Guess I will see if I can find a Versa 3 somewhere and get that since that still works. Get your act together or figure out how to have the battery life the fitbit has for the pixel.or i don't know make It to where functionality is not something we have to beg for for almost a year.

The versa 3s, like the rest of them, seem to have a habit of bricking
shortly after the warranty expires.

Absolutely insane that 3rd party app control still isn't supported on your newer watches.  You simply can't be a competitive fitness watch without the ability to control music at least! Then again, you still don't allow a pregnancy to be added to your menstrual health calendar so we shouldn't be surprised by how outdated this seems...

Need to be able use GPS Golf App and others that were available on Sense on the Sense 2.  You will lose many active athletes for life a golf is a game for life. Just publish an update that allow golf4watch app GOLF GPS. Thank you.

fitDanboy
Base Runner

Simple.  Must not lose capabilities on Sense 2 that were available on Sense.  GPS already on board

Absolutely must have 3rd party apps Golf GPS and BarCodes both were on Sense.  You will lose satisfied customers and lose them for life.

Sense 2 not as robust as Sense.  Specifically Golf GPS and other 3rd party apps.  Golf is an extremely popular athletic endeavor FOR LIFE.  Unless Fitbit/Google issues an update which allows Golf GPS (golf4watch.com) and BarCode app, I will have to switch to Apple and will not recommend Fitbit to others.  Sense 2 has GPS, seems easy to add an UPDATE to allow product to meet user needs-if Fitbit cares about. Users.

Thanks. Yes, so does Apple.  Don’t need multiple devices when Fitbit has GPS and have been a long time users.  I also use a rangefinder want the front middle back yardage in my Fitbit products.  It’s on the Sense and makes “no sense” that it is not on Sense 2.
