Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

Go back to the old dashboard or at least develop one that doesn't look like a two year old designed it.

This new app is a huge step backwards from the old version.  I have only spent a short time with it but have already noticed the following:

1. It is very bland and colorless which makes things hard to find and not easy to navigate.  The old version was 100 x's better in this regard.

2. Exercise can't be edited.  The old app allowed me to edit an exercise that was recognized incorrectly with the correct name.  The edit feature doesn't work.

3.  The map that records biking or jogging does not contain street names so you have no idea where you went.  The old map included street names and was useable.  This new map is a useless feature.

4. The lines that record your progress when jogging or biking are fat and sloppy and are hard to follow.  Couple that with no street names and again this feature us useless.

Please go back to the old version or let us users choose.  I have been a happy fitbit consumer for almost 3 years but I'm discovering a lot of my happiness was because the app was so informative and user friendly.  You have totally changed that with this new version.

I used this to downgrade the app to version 3: https://fitbit.en.aptoide.com/app

I'd really like to find version 2 from before the stupid cvnt5 fkd up the charts.

Agreed, absolutely awful. Please go back to the normal style that's been very good for years!

Thx.

Does Fitbit hate its own devices? Does the person responsible for the updated Fitbit app even use a Fitbit? I liked the daily celebration when I met my goal (the colors would change in celebration)! This is not to mention that I was working on a goal to meet 10,000 steps every day for a year -- I was on day 277 and now *poof* it's gone! You don't track my streaks anymore?!? That is demotivating. What is the app even offering now? I used to be able to look through the graphs on weeks that I've done, and what my weekly averages were in the past. That kept me motivated. This new app is trash. I want the old one back.

What an awful update!!! The previous one was perfect. Why fix it if it wasn’t broken in the first place. Please let us revert back to the old one. I’ve had a Fitbit for many years and always loved the app but this update makes it very hard to use.

Not only do I totally concur with how horrendous and unusable the update is, its also riddled with bugs, making the data, even when you can find it, fairly meaningless.

Over the last few days I've had a few hours where I was very close to not hitting 250 steps an hour. I got up and walked and my Fitbit said I did 250. The app, says I didn't.

My daily distance target is 4 miles and very definitely set to 4 miles. I regularly exceed that. The Day tab on the Distance screen congratulates me for exceeding my target. The Week, Month and Year tab have decided that my target is about 6.5 miles per day (and I say 'about' because I can't actually tell exactly what it's decided) and these screens tell me I've failed to hit my target nearly every day. NO I HAVEN'T.  I'VE MASSIVELY EXCEEDED MY TARGET NEARLY EVERY DAY.

The circles on the dashboard are presumably meant to indicate how much you've exceeded your target by with the light green. So when I've exceeded my target by 50% (eg 15,000 steps when my target is 10,000), surely 2/3 (10,000 steps) should be dark green and 1/3 (5,000 steps) light green - not half and half.

It's all just so hideous and meaningless now. How can you trust anything in it any more?

Stefanie:

My daily step goal is set at 12,500 and at Sep 9, stood at 561. As you
aptly expressed “poof” Sep 10, no more step streak. Nonetheless, I
submitted a complaint & FitBit opened a case on Sep 11.

Thankfully, Fitbit continues to have my history and all the Badge’s I
accumulated; I would love to see that Step Streak recognition, instant
gratification. I continue my step streak, but have to track it manually.

FITBIT, shot itself in the foot with this update: 1 step forward & 2 steps
back! Fitbit will lose subscribers & customers with all this bad publicity.

It is horrid

After updating the app, most of my stats for individual workouts disappeared. I rely on seeing the heart rate graph and zone minutes, now for some reason they only show up on walks or runs. And the new graphs that remain are hard to read compared to before.

So disappointed with the app's redesign. Not only is it missing important features that I use on a regular basis but the general visual redesign is depressing and feels like a big step backwards. The colour scheme used to feel cheery and included fun easy to read icons and graphs. Now it's bleak, monochrome and no longer visual engaging.

Looks like the "This is needed" bit wasn't included, so I'm adding it here...The new design makes me feel anxious and sad every time I open the app compared to the colourful easy to read interface of the previous version. Please revert it back!

That’s a good point. I did get my latest Fitbit from Amazon. I’ve already
done my rating in the App Store so now I’ll do one on Amazon as well.

Apple being proprietary locks you guys out of a lot but I can't see why you would not be able to find the older version 3.88 and download it.

I agree with the above comments.

Also I selected sleep as my primary screen because I was playing with how the update worked. I want steps as the primary screen and cannot find how to change it.
Also the graphics on the new interface look childish. I use the Fitbit and info for serious adjustments in my day and week.

Well, I've been a fitbit user since 2015... im done leaving and buying
something else... Google cannot respond to us, then they lose me as a
customer .

MSD Outlook gives users the option to use the latest version or the prevuious version. Fitbit could do the same.

I’m so annoyed with new interface, especially as I just bought a Fitbit for my sister and I’m sure this new style will be confusing and discouraging! I’m totally annoyed that we had no notice or choice,  I cannot find the info I rely on and want the old version back😠

Lets face it, its been googleified

The app was all that Fitbit had going for it..  the hardware was unreliable from day one...

I'm on a charge 5 but only because the 2 3 and 4 all broke.

I had Aria scales but they proved fragile and ultimately useless.

I bought some Chinese smart scales and they have been uber reliable, give me loads of data and cost a fraction of the Aria scales.

I'll be looking at a Chinese watch and app for my next purchase,

I agree, I've been with fitbit and loving it since 2017.  Its part of my daily wellness journey.  Sadly our journey will come to an end and I'll look somewhere else to continue.  This new dashboard is creating a very negative impact on my workouts as my level of frustration increases.

I think we need to find out what Google is getting for itself with this redesign, as it's clearly not designed for the users.  Would love to hear from other disappointed folks what ideas they have.  More user data for them?  Sending us to the website (that's how i maintain my activities now).  What's in it for them, as they certainly don't seem to care what we would like.
