Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

I was advised I cannot. I am also very disappointed with this new app.

There is now 80 pages of comment here, and absolutely no response from Fitbit. This is a group closed to the wider online community so I think we are shouting in an empty room. The bottom line here, which is indicative by their silence, but Fitbit are simply not interested in their customer base.

The only way to tackle this is vote with your feet and go elsewhere … I think this is what Google / Fitbit are engineering… hoping all will migrate to the Google products.

I am in no hurry, I can cope with the current disaster for the time being, but actively scoping either an Apple Watch … or Garmin and will move when it suits me.

@Gregg74 that's too bad. So. Thanks for the heads up that it could happen despite turning off automatic updates. I will say that mine is still version 3.88 but I can't view any if my past exercises anymore on the Exercise page.

So I'm returning my Fitbit to Amazon (purchased 18 months ago) due to this disaster and upgrading to a Garmin. If I disconnect the Fitbit device (Inspire 2) from my account, will this remove all the data history in my Fitbit account?

@Mastibby you are wrong. It's 82 (!!) pages of more than 2100 highly critical comments. And yes, you'd think by now they would just give users what they've been asking for for nearly 3 weeks. But no, they know better. It's gone down like a bucket of cold sick, and yet they're going to take a Kodak/Nokia/Blackberry approach to moving past this "glitch". I cancelled my premium membership today because I won't pay that kind of money for such a shocking customer experience. Like you I am not in any rush to buy a new watch but I have several  options in my Amazon Xmas Wish List!

If you look at the feedback on the Playstore, the app rating has dropped from 4.1 to 3.7....but you will see every 4th comment is interspaced with a 5 star rating and a user who has written no more than 2-3 positive words like "Excellent". Call me cynical, but it must be nice (and probably easy) for Google to be able to set up fake profiles with no one being able to prove they're fake. So the app score on the Playstore is probably closer to 3.1.....or maybe even 2-something by now.

@LizzyFitbit do you think this feedback MIGHT have received enough votes yet? Is 2100 getting close? How many are needed to get an apology and an intelligent executive response??

Just an FYI that Fitbit Charge 6 is now live on Amazon….I have been receiving email blasts this past week. Well worth your time to go and check it out and perhaps do what we can to get the word out. 😉

I agree with all the comments- new update is just bad.  And seriously, with all the changes and you don’t put the battery life there? Please just admit failure and go back to the drawing board and let us use the former design until you do better. Thanks

Following some suggestions I too wrote a review on Amazon.
Gave FitBit/Google a "1".
Mainly I talked about how the data export has be totally screwed up
since Google.

I keep being told that you can't go back however a website called up to
down has it on there but I don't know if it works or not Fitbit really
seems like they don't care

Talie. You need to explain more. You must be easily pleased by apps as it
is nothing like it was!

Sorry, miscommunication. I meant the website that allowed me to downgrade worked. The new app is terrible

I’ve hated the revised app from the first time  I saw it. It truly is horrible. But aesthetics aside, it also has so many glitches it’s unbelievable. The latest one I’ve found is that the distance recording, if you choose miles, actually shows km as miles - I KNOW I haven’t done 4 miles today just around the house. Further down on the time you have to scroll down half an hour to see, it shows what I presume to be the accurate reading, but hey, who actually knows? My point is, what is the point of using something you can’t rely on, even after gritting your teeth and using the bland click click click, scroll scroll scroll, so called simplified revision. I NEVER EVER had this issue with the previous version. And I presume I’ll quickly reach my distance target as it’s giving me way more miles than I’m actually doing, so I look forward to finding my magnifying glass and searching for the teeny tiny tick that will be my congratulations and motivation - I can’t believe the errors in this revision, I’m still fizzing with rage every day - gah!

Nice to know I am not alone. Never, ever, comment on forums for any brand, company or sporting team. But I can't get my head around who at Fitbit sat in a room and passed this utter tripe. I can only assume they don't use it. They can't sit there with a straight face and go "Yeah, give it time. You'll love this more when you get used to it". It looks like it's designed by a five year old on a sugar rush, it is clunky, loses virtually every good feature it had, is demotivating and frankly an insult. This is not Facebook 2007 when everyone threw their arms in the air in rage at a new design - then a few months later forgot what they old one was. This is utter, utter nonsense. If it aint broke was invented for this moment. Suspect the top dogs at Fitbit will still believe sitting it out is in their best interests, it'll pass and everyone will eventually forget the old design. I won't. I might be only one person - but this is the definition of own goal for Fitbit and an open goal for the others. Can only assume this saves them money because it's so bad it's not worth writing another word on it.

I second all those comments. You had a good thing going why screw with it? Please give us user configurable font sizes.

I agree with Nymdoc 100%  I really dislike this new system and find it very difficult to navigate.  I am particularly cross at not being able to put my most important information at the top in the order that i want
