Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

waynecz can you let me know as well, thanks

There used to be an option to stop the display from lighting up when you made the gesture to check the time, this is very annoying when you move your arm while trying to get to sleep.

I don't want to throw it away but it every time I check the app I'm reminded of the obvious flaws, I'm getting used to using it less because that's less irritating

Not sure if this has been posted. Saw this earlier. Google has announced Fitbit users in Europe will soon find third-party apps and watch faces are removed from their Fitbit devices. In June 2024, third-party content will be removed from watches, whether or not you want it to stay

Google is evil

It's no wonder their under investigation in Europe

The app update with the game show like spinning numbers IS TERRIBLE for people with visual issues. It make me dizzy and there is NO WAY to stop it from doing that. The font is also thin and light and difficult to see. Please have a way to go back to the old app with darker wider font and no spinning please. Or just have another option.

What are third party apps?

That’s what I’m getting next, as soon as my current Fitbit dies.

So, if Fitbit is going to remove third party apps and watch faces from the devices of their users in Europe, then it's certainly only a matter of time before that step is also implemented everywhere else.  That fact has been marinating in my brain for several hours now, and it has just stoked my anger all over again.  I made a deliberate choice a few years ago to upgrade from a more basic tracker to a smart watch.  I purchased a smart watch.  I use a third party watch face because it gives me ALL the info I want to see at a glance, and none of the faces provided by Fitbit does that.  I use a few third party apps.  Now Fitbit (Google) is planning to essentially downgrade my device to a basic tracker.  I believe the legal term for that is Bait and Switch.

Please bring back the old styles of Fitbit. These "New" looks are EXACTLY like "Google" style. This is why I always chose Firbit. Please don't push your styles on us FITBIT lovers.

I still absolutely hate this app update. Once my Fitbit needs to be replaced in going elsewhere. Did they ever survey their customers? What made them think this is what we want? Premium doesn't add anything worth having either. What a shame. Can anyone recommend an alternative?

Yeah, I don't think Google realizes how badly they're alienating Fitbit users. If they had any understanding of human psychology, they'd have tried to lure us in, rather than force the issue. In the past, I might have considered switching to a Google device at some point. But after this debacle? Forget it. If someone gave me a Google Watch, I'd throw it away before I'd give them the satisfaction of becoming a user. (Hope you're listening, Google, even though I know you probably aren't.)

I totally agree with all the points already made. I wish I had never completed the update. It is terrible!!!

It is not visually appealing, and has removed useful information!

I have used the app daily for 8 years, and I can guarantee if it doesn't change I will no longer use Fitbit at all.

I really wish I could undo the update 😞

I'm adding my voice to this choir.  Google please bring back the old version.  It was much more transparent, user friendly and less glitchy.  I gave this new app version  half year try and I can't stand it anymore.  BRING IT BACK!!!

I've been fitbit user of 8 years from Charge 2.  Now for the first time I'm considering checking out other sport watches.  This is how frustrated I am with this new and "improved" version.

Cheers

I totally agree with all the above. The new design is atrocious. I’ve been a loyal Fitbit customer since 2020, but am now thinking of switching to Apple Watch if these issues are not addressed.

And the app is flaky , often not updating certain information.

Bit by bit Google is destroying this app.  Every change they make whether is is to functionality or design aesthetics is a backwards step.  It’s clear the agenda here is to force everyone over to Google Pixel so that this app can be closed down.  Time to find an alternative.

The last Update is not useful. No more summary of steps, calories etc. Sleep tracking is also a mess now

My husband and I are looking for new fitness watches, won't be Fitbit. Hate every "update", have removed every feature I want. Thanks for ruining a good product.

The whole purpose of the app is to view personal data "at a glance.". That certainly did not happen this morning as I tried to decipher what was going on.

I do appreciate that the designers are trying to give us more data to help us, but I am not going to sit here and read through it every morning.  I should be able to view my data at a glance.  I think it'd be great if both were made available - the first thing I see is my data at a glance (previous format), then have a symbol where I can open everything up when I have more time.

As for the graphics - I'm sorry.  It's just ugly and bland. I understand adapting an art form from the 60's. I'm 67.  But, I've moved on.  It really is irritatingly ugly.  About 3 revisions ago was nice and calming.  (I guess art is truly in the eyes for the beholder and my eyes just aren't beholding it.)

I do appreciate the effort to want the site to be "uplifting and [have a] compassionate feeling.". I think that can be done by allowing us to have access to the old "at a glance" data and the useful raw data - when we have the time or desire to look at it and, perhaps, doing original art work...like adding calming colors.
