I bought the Charge primarily because of the Relax function as it’s a valid biofeedback technique but it’s not well implemented. Other than that I’m delighted with the device but won’t bother getting the Versa until I can take my books with me. No point!
I’m so used to having my iPhone with me it isn’t really an issue carrying it along to access music/ books. It more the principle. Why is it so hard to get the audible app? It’s clearly much desired.
Good morning, The issue is not related to music. Most of us are try to find a way to persuade Fitbit to developing an app to allow audible books to be available like the music on the iconic or any watch. Thoughts?
I think a lot of people are missing the point of this thread. It's a desire to get the Audible app on the watches to allow for use with the library the users own and without their phone attached to them. It's not for music. A lot of people have a large collection of books in their audible account specifically.
I listen to my audible books while working out and when walking my dogs and it would be nice to not have to carry my phone around while doing that.
I have over 250 books on audible which amounts to over 150 days of listening. I’d really like to be able to use the Audible app on a Fitbit watch so I don’t have to carry my iPhone. That’s the audible issue that we are talking about. As I get older it gets more urgent as I can’t remember the endings of the books anymore so it’s more fun re-listening.
A kindred spirit. Like you I've been a long time audible fan and have numerous books, the problem is I don't think Fitbit thought far enough in advance and hopefully someone else will take advantage of this vacuum and provide us a watch with the appropriate app. Trust me, with books going back to 2009, I often Rediscover books!😉
I would like the Overdrive app to be able to listen to audio books from the library while I run. I want to get an ionic but will still have to carry my phone with me on runs. Bummer!
Having Audible books on Versa or Ionic would be awesome and a reason for me to buy one. I don't care about GPS, but having entertainment keeps me motivated. I don't like carrying my phone with me.
Have had many different fitbits since they first came on the market, but am looking n low for a smartwatch that is compatible with Audible books. Thought the Ionic may fit the bill, but it won't play Audible books. How about giving us a fitbit that does. I would buy it immediately.
I want all the Fitbit goodies and don't really want to change brand. I've had fitbits for years and all my friends have them so challenges are a major part. However, I do like to listen to books when walking. I have an Audible subscription and all my books are in their format. It's not as if Amazon Audible is just a small niche market. They do not do mp3 format. Mp3 is a rubbish format anyway for listening to books. There is no way to go straight back to where you last listened. It can take ages to find your place. Useless for books. I realise fitbit is primarily sport related, but they are venturing into the smartwatch marker with the Ionic. Not much use to pay so much more and not get anything more for your money.
That’s an interesting idea and could be useful, thanks for sharing this suggestion @franceswartnaby! We look forward to hearing what other community members think!
It is encouraging to know that there are so many like-minded individuals out there. However; I still post the question to everyone "how do we turn our opinions into action and motivate Fitbit to concede to our wishes?"
