@steveb944I already have, multiple times. Citi says they'd be happy to work w/ Fitbit to add Citi to Fitbit Pay if Fitbit would only reach out to them to get the process started.

So one can choose to believe whichever side of the story they wish, but given track records I'm inclined to believe Citi in this one and that Fitbit just hasn't even bothered. This would accurately line up with Fitbit's utter lack of caring in any way, shape or form about their customers as demonstrated on these forums in countless tickets (bugs, feature requests, etc).

As a result of this and other missing advertised features, and Fitbit's silence and refusal to provide any updates or support on the issues, I have submitted a formal FTC complaint. I encourage everyone else to do the same.

@sremickFitbit never advertised support for Discover card. Your FTC complaint is baseless. Also, this onus is on Discover to support Fitbit Pay, not the other way around.

For some reason Fitbit pay in not usable with my Discover card. Not sure why but can this please be fixed. I would like to be able to add my discover card to Fitbit pay.

Hi @rwahl, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about here. Keep adding your suggestions!

It's been 3 years of customers asking for the discover card to be compatible. What is the hold up? Is it possible. Please let us know what we can do to have this feature live within the next month. Thanks

I spoke to Discover and they said:
“The merchant/owner would need to go to this website to partner with Discover. https://www.discoverglobalnetwork.com/en-us/partner-with-us/business-owners

@rwahl it seems that's for merchants only.

But this may shine some light that it's Fitbit'e acquirer (payment processor) that refuses to expand.

I guess our only hope at this point is when Google pushes Pay onto Fitbit.

@rwahl Fitbit is not a merchant owner,

Fitbit pay is a way for Discover to setup a virtual card. Fitbit has all the tools needed for Discover to connect to Fitbit pay. The steps are the same as for adding Samsung, Apple, and Garmin pay Apple has already been connected by Discover.

Hi please make this possible! It's really not hard for Fitbit to integrate discover as they simply have to go to the discover website and add as a merchant. @YojanaFitbit

It doesnt work that way @jeremiahlee

Fitbit pay uses virtual credit cards that are connected to the users charge card with their bank.

Rgis is the same as Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, Android Pay, etc Pay.

I see that Discover has added both apple and google pay, the process to add Fitbit Pay is the same allowing discover can easily add Fitbit pay. The changes need to be done in the banks computer system.

@Rich_Laue  I'm a former Fitbit employee. I actually know how it works, but I think you meant to reply to @Jcoolio . 😉

Hi, it's been over a year that someone commented on this post. As discover is one of the major credit card companies in the US, is it possible to refresh this idea again and put some effort into integrating Discover credit cards in Fitbit pay please. Many new and young credit card users only have one credit card and discover is one of the most popular ones that give credit cards to new users.

I'd like to upvote the previous comment. If it is an issue with discover can Fitbit work with them? I use them for apple pay but using with Fitbit pay would be great too

I want to use my Apple Cash card that uses discover so can you support more banks.

Hi @theorangepro, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to add Discover card to Fitbit Pay. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

Its November 2020 and still no Discover on fitbit.  As a matter of fact it didn't support any of my VISAs or Master cards either.  They have to be a few issued by a few select banks.  Not cool.

Sorry about this @LindaPearl but Fitbit has everything setup for a bank to add Fitbit pay to their virtual cards.

It is now up to the bank to make the move, not Fitbit.

Both Garmin and apple suggest their users to reach out to their bank.

And where would the bank need to go to start this process? Is there a web address that we could send them? I've already sent a message to Discover Card about adding to Fitbit and I get the standard run-around reply. "We'd be happy to take your suggestion into consideration." But nothing ever happens. If we had a weblink or something to give them then they could start going up the chain with that information. And If enough of us do this maybe the banks will get the hint.

First Steps

When I go through the setup for adding a new card to Fitbit when I try to enter my Discover card number I get a red triangle with an exclamation. I click on the "Not Sure?" link and it takes me to the general information page. On this page I can see the icons for MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Maestro. Discover is not listed. Scrolling down, I'll click on the "Participating Banks" link. Scrolling through the list of banks, I'll see entries for the following; MasterCard, Visa, Debit, Credit, as well as the direct name of the financial institution they're attached to. But Discover card is no where to be listed. This tells me that Discover Card is not even an available option for Fitbit.

So the questions still remain: Can we add Discover Card to Fitbit? If we can't currently, is the onus on Fitbit to add Discover Card, or is it on the individual financial institutions? If the onus is on the individual financial institutions, what steps do they need to take to get the process started? It just seems like a lot if finger pointing has been going around on this issue and end-users are stuck in limbo.

Okay moving into later 2021 and still no discover card integration? Can we get this revisited? I contacted discover and they said to contact fitbit.

Posting to revive this idea. Has there been any updates to implementing Discover NFC compatibility with Fitbit pay? I've also reached out to discover as suggested.
