Add Interval Training Timer (HIIT) That Buzzes at a Certain Pace

Hello,
I'm excited about the new products. I am a run/walker, and in training for my recent marathon, a friend had a garmin watch that vibrated at certain intervals. (Ex: if I wanted to have a pace of 3min run/1min walk it would vibrate at those intervals to keep me on track).

For whatever reason, my versa buzzes every three minutes when I'm running. I used the interval timer today, though, and it just silently moved from interval to interval. Is there a way to get the buzzing?

Hello,

Thank you for having an interval timer on the fit bit Ionic.  It is one of the features I use very frequently.  It seems to be set up for Fartleks. (The word “fartlek” is a Swedish term which means “speed play.” It is a training method that blends continuous (endurance) training with interval (speed) training. Fartlek runs challenge the body to adapt to various speeds, conditioning you to become faster over longer distances). It would be nice to add a second or even third interval option so that it could be used for HIIT training also without having to go into the app and change it manually and then of course go back change it again when you want to do running intervals or another type of interval training such as TRX. Yes, I am aware you have a TRX app on the watch but it is pretty basic. Thanks for your consideration.

Yours in Health and Wellness,

Dr Christopher C.

Hi everyone, and thanks for sharing this suggestion. We’re happy to let you know that this has been released in the mobile app for some time as one of our 20 exercise modes called 'interval workout'. Follow instructions in this help article to customize your interval workout settings, where you can set how often you want your device to buzz you to move and rest, and the number of repetitions. The default is set to 30 seconds move and 10 seconds rest by default. Explore our blog on getting started with interval workouts!

@Lins923, in recognition of your excellent suggestion, each of your votes will now count as 5 votes – you have the power! Thank you for sharing this idea, and thanks to all the voters and commenters for your enthusiasm which has now materialized for everyone’s benefit. We hope you all enjoy this feature.

Hello Liz,

Thanks for your response. I hope you are doing well in the midst of the crisis that is enveloping our world at this time. Unfortunately, your response does not address our questions.  I realize it may be tedious but if you went back and read the entire thread I think you will see that our questions were different and your response only addresses one of them.

"Follow instructions in this help article to customize your interval workout settings.." I went on to this website link and did not find the instructions as listed in the response... I have a fitbit luxe. Which mode exactly do I choose from for HIIT exercise? Thank you.
