Add Lloyds bank to UK Fitbit pay

More bank compatibility for uk Fitbit pay versa users. So far Fitbit pay is not connected to any major banks in the UK. The very few that fit bit pay is connected to I’ve never even heard of. So as a UK versa owner I have the special edition and can’t use the very feature that separates it from the the normal versa.

is Fitbit pay going to compatible with the major banks in the UK like Barclays, Lloyds, Santander, HSBC, NatWest, TSB, Metro Bank, Halifax, Royal Bank of Scotland etc and also I haven’t seen any where (shops) that accepts Fitbit pay yet.

Also irritated that the Fitibt has such limited coverage in the UK, especially since this information is not prominently displayed on the device purporting its NFC payment capability.

So Fitbit - you've added the ability that we can pay in the UK on London's public transport but what's the point when most people can't add a payment method in the first place?

Seriously please get your priorities right - the project manager wants firing.

Very disappointed at the small range of UK banks compatible with Fitbit ionic. Please add Lloyds or Revolut visa

I'm voting to add Halifax and all major banks to Fitbit pay! Or is there a way for it to work with Google Pay or Android?

I quite agree about utilizing Google pay, as I suggested in a previous post.It would save fitbit having to contact all of the individual UK banks.

Just bought my first FitBit and super disappointed I can't use a major feature of FitBit Pay as my bank (Lloyds Bank) is not supported - WTF is that all about ?

I would appreciate some feedback on how long I need to wait for you to negotiate with Lloyds Bank to enable FitBit Pay before I decide to send the FitBit Versa back for a refund - I might as well have bought a cheaper version as the Versa extra features useless.

Just got me fitbit and like many others I cannot add any payment methods, even though the examples for setting up cards shows Amex,  MasterCard.... all I get is Oops, something went wrong!  I am in the UK and this thread has been 9n here for a year..... I wonder if this is ever going to be fixed as fitbit seem to be pushing the Versa Life now..... come on fitbit, I have been a customer for years and you seem to be letting us down here in the UK!  The market is very competitive, more than ever so you have to get your act together!!

This thread has been going on since April 2018, I think FitBit are so arrogant & not even bothered about their UK customers where FitBit Pay is concerned.

this is one of the main reasons I upgraded from the Charge 2 to the Charge 3 special addition so I could use the pay facility on the go.  I’m sure I’m not alone with this.

Surely this is false advertising if they aren’t using the main banks as you can’t see the available banks before you purchase.

Not really sure what to do anymore but wondering if Watchdog or other government bodies would be interested in investigating? 🤷🏼‍:male_sign:

I couldn't agree  with you more, it goes beyond being arrogant It's down right rude. Fitbit have never replied to our requests. All they come up with that it's "under consideration" what ever that's supposed to mean.

Personally I see no point in having a forum if your questions don't get answered. I will be visiting my bank RBS and see if they can do something from their end. Maybe we should all try this. 🙂

Considering all the main UK banks offer and support contactless payments I can't understand why Fitbit has not made any attempt to add then to the UK payments lineup, when you advertise a product that has contactless payments the public would expect that to include all the major banks not one lesser known provider.

If any car manufacturer were to bring out a car that didn't use normal tyres but ones which were barely available anywhere then people would soon boycot then for the lack of support so why is this not the same.  Half the reason I went for the flagship Ionic for this reason. I'm sure there is a trading standards issue here as it is pretty close to false advertising and after 2+ YEARS of people complaining there still is not any change.

Seriously Fitbit? You want to compete with the big smart watch vendors? Well make a product that has ALL of its listed features working in the country where you sell it!

I couldn't agree more with the recent comments.  I have been a supporter of all things fitbit for 6 years now, being a very early adopter of their tech.  In those days they were extremely responsive, now I think they just assume we all accept the poor service.  I even asked this very question via fb messenger and yet again just got fobbed off with links and asked to put it forward as an idea,  it's just unbelievable now and personally I think anyone with a fitbit device in the UK should be refunded at least 1/3rd of the purchase price as the device is not fit for purpose.

Thanks. Agree we need to up the ante. Watchdog sounds good and maybe social media (Twitter) messages etc. Might shame them into action if enough people get involved.....

Reply from last night. 03.45am??

Simply lazy, you get the same answer each time.

“Thanks for getting back. We appreciate your feedback. We've checked and confirmed that you've reached out to us back in May regarding your bank not being supported by Fitbit Pay.

Our team is continuously working in adding more banks supported for Fitbit Pay. If your bank is still not included, you can check out list from time to time here: https://www.fitbit.com/fitbit-pay/banks. We appreciate your patience.”

I completely get everyone's anger and frustration at Fitbit for misleading
the UK customers, it's just wrong
On a more positive note, I decided not to wait for Fitbit, and I opened a
Starling account.
I use it for all those small expenses and travel in London so, budget an
amount each month. I quite like having the protection layer this provides
to my main bank account as well
Starling are, quite frankly, brilliant and provide a great insight to your
costs through a simple interface. Great for travel around Europe too
I know this doesn't resolve Fitbit's appalling, immoral behaviour that they
absolutely should be ashamed about but, I am resigned to that and am happy
with the workaround

Just catching up.....

If Fitbit are continually working on adding UK banks why has the list not changed one bit in the last 12 months?  Just saying.........

Yes, agree I think Watch Dog would have a field day on this subject.....

Do Fitbit ever read the forum..... I get the feeling there is not a Fitbit employee as a moderator........

maybe we should all send our Versa's back stating that Fitbit Pay does not work, how can they deny it as none of us have a way of checking.... how annoyed would you be if your Bank got added, you set everything up to then find the near field sensor was knackered and yiur device was 13 months old so out of warranty!!!!!

I have just upgraded to to Charge3 and amazingly, CHARGE is a featureI cannot use. I only want a UK bank option - not too much to expect is it? Simply unbelievable considering the technology available in the competition. VERY disappointed! Perhaps the Charge3 needs to be returned!!!!

Perhaps we all need to email BBC Watchdog, make interesting viewing on the next series!

Already done so Simon Potterton, I would encourage more to do so, its very easy - just an online form..... if everyone on this thread did it I think we might find a mention on TV and maybe some real answers from Fitbit......
