Add Lloyds bank to UK Fitbit pay

More bank compatibility for uk Fitbit pay versa users. So far Fitbit pay is not connected to any major banks in the UK. The very few that fit bit pay is connected to I’ve never even heard of. So as a UK versa owner I have the special edition and can’t use the very feature that separates it from the the normal versa.

is Fitbit pay going to compatible with the major banks in the UK like Barclays, Lloyds, Santander, HSBC, NatWest, TSB, Metro Bank, Halifax, Royal Bank of Scotland etc and also I haven’t seen any where (shops) that accepts Fitbit pay yet.

I recently purchased a Versa and was really disappointed to see that there were no big Uk banks!! Please add NatWest to the banking! One of the main features I looked forward to using.

Please add support for widespread usage in the UK and with known UK banks such as HSBC, Barclays, Nationwide, First Direct, RBS, etc.

It's quite astonishing that Fitbit Pay does not support major UK banks. Really bonkers. This should be fixed immediately.

I'm very close to moving to a competitor brand now (either Apple or Samsung) as I've had such a negative experience with the Ionic (on my third one!). I always imagined Fitbit would dominate the wearables market and I've supported them for many years now, but they're quickly being left behind.

Adding my support for this thread. I was hugely disappointed to find the major UK banks were not covered.

Same problem in Canada - four of the five major banks are missing!  In fact, only have the option of one bank that no one has heard of and only the credit card from the other bank which is a major bank.

Part of me feels like this is a trading standards issue? does anyone else think it's worth going down that route to try and get what we paid for.

Hello.

Trading Standards is a UK term. (For those who do not know, it is a
service that is responsible for governing products and services that people
buy as customers. It also investigates complaints.) I would suggest you
do so from your end - I'm not sure what the Canadian equivalent is or if we
have one, but I think in Canada it would be more false advertising as the
pay feature is noted on the outside of the box with no disclaimer. And
Android pay works here as does the iWatch so there is no reason to think if
Fitbit advertises a pay feature that it would not work. Anyway, keep us in
the loop and good luck.

Hello Phill579.

Trading Standards is a UK term.  (For those who do not know, it is a UK service that is responsible for governing products and services that people buy as customers.  It also investigates complaints.)  I think that is a choice you have to make but you may have a case for it.  Products sold in different countries must comply with that country's laws and codes.

I'm not sure what the Canadian equivalent is or if we have one, but I think in Canada it would be more false advertising as the pay feature is noted on the outside of the box with no disclaimer.  And Android pay works here as does the iWatch so there is no reason to think if Fitbit advertises a pay feature that it would not work.  We do have a department in the government that deals with that. (As well as a few TV shows! LOL)

Anyway, keep us in the loop and good luck.

MONZO!

If you've got Starling, I'm sure Monzo would be a good bank to integrate next!

Having fitbit pay work for natwest would be for phenomenal, it was very disappointing that when I got my versa that one of its key features is essential unusable in the uk.

Halifax and First Direct please! Bought the Versa thinking that one of its bonuses was payment... feel truly ripped off that none of the UKs major banks are supported. Real failure by Fitbit here. Pretty shocking.

Monzo! They’re a fin tech company - surely you can work together to make this happen.

I don't see that buying a new watch should force me to change my bank so I've been with and trust for many years. Surely if fitbit are trying to compete with applepay and android pay they can manage this discussion with the UK banks too

I find this quite a stupid and insulting response from Fitbit. So they're saying " we look forward to hearing what other community members think" from those of us that have bought (and for the Versa paid extra) a device with Fitbit Pay to have access to easier payments that Apple Watch and Google Pay users have had for years. So what was the point releasing a device with this new pay feature but not to launch it then but instead ask what purchasers think and ignore their comments anyway? Surely that's plainly obvious they want this feature or they wouldn't have paid extra for the Versa with this feature in the first place!

Fitbit strategy- make a product and charge extra for a feature customers in the main can't use. Create a forum so it looks like we're listening to see if they ACTUALLY want a feature they've already paid for. Ignore the forum, don't update the marketing and then watch the suckers spend their money!

I regret paying extra for my Versa and won't be buying another Fitbit in future, I feel conned!

Absolutely true! It’s possible, they just don’t seem to care about
competing. Really disappointing.

Hi Santander is really the only large bank usable with the fitbit at present
in the UK. Luckily I'm a customer so have been using my watch to pay.

Thanks, i hadn't realised any major uk banks were running so that's encouraging, can I ask is that recent?

Three or four months ago now - I applied for a Santander card online almost immediately just so I could have a supported card on my Ionic. I hardly use it (as I prefer to use my Amex and Barclaycard) but at least it is there if I forget my wallet or urgently need refreshment whilst out running.

It's still pretty rubbish, imho, that others UK high street banks and major credit cards aren't supported 😞

A year on from when i bought my Ionic, nothing has changed on this. No updates that “ it’s coming soon “ or anything. My ionic is an amazing piece of kit, and so is everything else, the Fitbit app, customer service etc, but Fitbit pay has been a major disappointment. I have to wonder if the big banks will adopt it at all......

I feel like I was ripped off buying the more expensive model. I don’t say that lightly either. I have spoken to my bank Lloyds who told me they’ve no intention of looking at Fitbit Pay as they already cover other payment services. Not sure if Google and Apple have exclusivity agreeements but it’s strange that a year on there’s little to no movement from Fitbit.

So going to look at other alternatives now as I have no faith at all in Fitbit. So will see what the new Apple Watch is like or maybe even the upcoming Pixel watch or new Huawei. Won’t be back with Fitbit that’s for sure. They have what seem like they have enjoyed loyal and patient customers but I’ve come to the realisation they dont care about them. Future Nokia!

More cards please, I shouldn’t have to open a new bank account just to get it working, especially when I’m with a well know uk bank such as Halifax

I genuinely think Fitbit don't care and aren't interested. I feel ripped off paying extra for a feature I can't use then when I pointed that out Fitbits response was, post a request for the feature here. That's disgraceful really, buy a product then post a request in the developers area in the futile hope they develop a feature I'd already paid for!

Won't be buying Fitbit once I replace the Versa
