Add fluid color to Menstrual Health Tracking

I believe it is an important part of female health tracking to monitor the color of the fluids. You can find different period blood color charts online and hopefully Fitbit uses female programmers to work on this, rather than males, because they have first-hand experience. I would also hope that very detailed descriptions are provided (and more medically correct than mine) to help both young & experienced women track this aspect of our bodies.

I would say the basic colors are:

  • Bright red (freshest blood the uterus is shedding, but sometimes seen during spotting)
  • Dark red (older blood, sometimes indicating end of period)
  • Brown/black (oldest blood, sometimes leftover from previous period or indicating end of period)
  • Pink (spotting, sometimes because blood has mixed with cervical fluid)

There are also instances of women having orange, gray, and even purple blood which indicate other related health issues and I think these should also be considered.

In the fluid section I think it should be able to pick all that apply instead of just one.

Hi @Starraye97! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing. I've moved it into a similar request. Hopefully we will have support from other users since more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains.

The female health tracking on Fitbit is subpar quite honestly. I expect much more from a respected company such as this. I would suggest adding more symptoms, more fluids, and more flow types. And may I be so bold as to suggest adding custom symptoms, fluids, and flow types 🤭. The tracking also doesn’t take into account that there are sometimes skipped periods, this should DEFINITELY be added because many women, myself included, have had skipped periods due to things unrelated to pregnancy. I would consider all of these suggestions seriously because as of right now, your female health tracking feature is tailored to predicable cycles/periods.

I agree with you!!

I have been trying Natural Cycle, where you take you temperature every morning and it works great!! Period and ovulation is spot on.

Natural Cycle App is a appproved birthcontrol in USA and Europe: would be great if Fitbit would connect that app and fatch accurate data.
