Add other Google Pixel Devices to Family Link

We are unable to add our 13 year old son's new goggle pixel 3 watch because we use Family Link. Product support says the only solution is to remove family link or use a fitbit ace- which are too small for him. I see many many parents want to use more age appropriate devices for their teens and still use family link. Google should fix this issue.
