Ankle mode

Please make one u wear on ankle then u would get all the steps. When u are in a store with carts such as grocery, target etc it won't record all the walking one is doing with a cart. I have to try and push with one hand!! They can have pretty but functionally ankle devices some can be practically for a guy and pretty like an ankle bracelet for a women!!! Please develop this!! Soon!!

All    I have been wearing my fitbit blaze, with the normal LARGE wrist band I bought from Amazon around my ankle and it fits perfectly.   This morning I walked 4 miles (based on mapmyrun) and my fitbit ALSO recorded four miles so its VERY accurate.  No need to put it in your sock (for me I don't wear socks) as I've seen others mention.  Just strap it to your ankle and off you go. Problem solved.  Don't wait on fitbit - that could be forever coming.

Hello thank you for the information what type of strap is it. Could you send me what it is and I agree waiting on Fitbit is about a waist of time some of these posts for ankle bands are several years old. The people keep saying I should have voted for them and not made a new post but it doesn’t seem to me that it matters much either way. Ok well thank you for your reply and I’m glad to know that it’s accurate 👍 that’s a plus

Dawn   I used Moretek Replacement Band for Fitbit Blaze - Size Large, which you can buy on Amazon.  If you search on Amazon under fitbit replacement bands, any of these replacement Bands for Fitbit will work - just get large so it will fit your ankle.  It did for me!!

I am so pleased to know there are many other people who have the same problem I have with my Fitbit. Hopefully with all this valuable feedback a new ankle device will be created. Emcm17 @@Cox .net

I did a similar adaptation for the ankle. But just think about how many more people they would attract if they make an official ankle device.

I'm just curious, a question to the voters and posters from this thread...

Fitbit makes a number of trackers that are clip on (put them in your pocket or attach to bra), which are the Zip and One.  Though the One has been discontinued, but that's a different discussion.  The Flex 2 also has a torso mode (attached to a pendant).  And yes, clip on trackers work as you'd expect with grocery carts & strollers.

Is it that you actually want the tracker attached to your ankle or is it that you simply don't want it on your wrist or simpler yet, you just want credit for the instances where you're not moving your wrists?

IMHO, having a tracker attached to my ankle is a little too much like a criminal on house arrest.

I originally got the Charge HR because I wanted the additional functions available. I had used a Zip and had a One. Unfortunately, once I had spent the money for a Charge HR, I found that it consistently underestimated my steps by as much as 40% and not just when pushing a cart. I contacted Fitbit and they sent me a replacement which also underestimated my steps by about the same amount. Having spent the money, I hated to just ditch it so tested it on my ankle. Steps are as accurate as the One.  So for the poster who keeps telling us all how inaccurate this is on the ankle - yes, we are aware of that - that would be why we want a software update to compensate. At least this way, one function is accurate.

I do like being able to wear it on my ankle. Since I wear long pants at work, the house arrest aspect doesn't bother me. It's not all that attractive on my wrist either and I'd rather wear a pretty watch. And for the poster who keeps telling us to just put it in a sock - I've tried that and hate the feel of it - it feels both insecure and uncomfortable. On the whole, having worn it on my ankle for around a year, I would definitely buy an ankle tracker that has all the functions but I regret buying the Charge HR. If an ankle tracker is available when my current tracker dies, I will probably get another one - and if that tracker is not from Fitbit, well, that was Fitbit's choice.

Have never been a criminal with an ankle bracelet so can't share your
sentiment. I want an ankle fitbit to record my activity as well as my heart
rate and SpO2. I realize it would be hard to see real time but if it can
record findings and I can view later, that would be great. So in short, I
want the Charge HR on my ankle and add feature to record my SpO2. And since
it is so close to the holidays, I wish it could take and record my glucose
level.

Mnoel2K13    I must say I love your WISHING spirit for the holiday and agree that I don't feel like a criminal with my BLAZE on my ankle even if it is a bit large.  That just makes it easier to see real time if I wish (you should see me on the street trying to read it live with my right leg in the air like I'm practicing my yoga moves   heheh  🙂   I do feel it is very accurate for distance and heart beat and agree it would be nice to be able to record other information, however at this point I'd just be happy if Fitbit would recognize the number of people who'd like to see this as a product.   Anyways, Merry Christmas all - keep wishing 🙂

As @PureEvil says the Flex 2 has a pendant setting, there are sensors in the mounts to tell Flex which program to use.

@mnoel2k13 the charge 2 does not have a SpO2 sensor so that is out.

There also would need to be a desperate program that could be called up while the tracker is on the ankle.

Yes, I know the Charge HR does not have a SpO2 sensor, nor does it monitor
glucose. Those options are on my wishlist. As far as wear clip ons.....that
is a no for it is not allowed where I work. Something about fear of it
dropping in your surgical would. Not good. Ankle option is best for me.

FYI there is a Fitbit extender on Amazon. It may not fulfill many aspects, but does allow ankle wear. In the 2-3 years i have been on this thread, Fitbit has expressed NO INTEREST whatsoever in responding to customer requests in this area.

Pls excuse typos & "corrections"
mnoel2k13

Yes, I have seen the extender. I even tried making my own. It just did not
feel comfortable. I think too much movement while walking. You are right
though. Fitbit is not listening to the lot of us.

Most hospitals say no to watches and bracelets because they can't be scrubbed the way hands and wrists can.

And necklaces, earrings, and additional jewelry for fear of falling into
surgical field while opening supplies or during surgery. Clearly there is a
market share for ankle bracelets amongst us non criminals, lol.

Those who keep talking abut the clip, that doesn’t do HR. All of these can be read on your phone so viewing won’t be an issue as you can just open that. I still can’t believe this thread has been going for so long without a look or thought into the design of this.

I have found it more accurate to put my Fitbit One on my ankle in an ace bandage! Someone needs to design something like that for people who don’t prefer a bracelet (which only helps if you move your arm while walking!) and want a more accurate step count!!

Just like there is a dominant hand or not option, there should be one to tell it that it is on the ankle when using a third-party ankle extender.

Maybe you could design an ankle accessory that syncs to the to Fitbit. This would enhance the experience and combine both for a more accurate readouts. I would absolutely buy one. Seems like a no brainer as there are already ankle style trackers on the market, Fitbit would once again be ahead of the curve with a dual tracking system.

I would definitely be on board. A fitbit on my wrist doesn't work well when
doing kettlebell snatches.

I am having the same problem...  I walk on my treadmill and type while I am walking (with a little desk I made).  It only tracks a few steps if I am not moving my arms.  I tried putting it in my pocket, but it doesn’t track all of my steps either.  I miss my other fitbit that clipped on my waist.  They should fix this problem!
