Automatic location tracking and geo-fencing on Ace LTE

Please have Fitbit ACE LTE automatically update its position every X minutes to refresh the location of a child automatically rather than just manually. Another popular kids watch has a live track feature that can be started/ended by the parent. Also, please add geo-fencing to get phone notifications when a child enters/leaves school or home

I think these should be separate issues. Automatic location tracking is fine, but uses up more battery than just geofencing. I'd prefer the latter to only send an update when it's out of range.

Good point, but there could be a workaround to that. Automatic location tracking doesn't necessarily have to mean reporting every 30 seconds, which would drain the battery in a few hours since it's WearOS we're talking about. It could be every 30 minutes, or only when activated through a on/off request via the phone app by a parent. Also, wouldn't automatic location tracking be a requirement for geo-fencing? I don't see how the watch would be able to update a parent unless the location gets updated automatically.

In one case the watch has to use battery on LTE to report usage at a specific interval ( it really has to be frequent or else there's not much point). On the other hand it only uses LTE when it's out of range.

I agree these are separate issues:

Geo-fencing would send notifications to parents only when the watch enters/exits the predetermined radius

Auto location update every X seconds would be more of an emergency feature initiated on the watch

Both of these functions are available on the Garmin Bounce, they would be an appreciated addition to the Ace

I was wondering if there's any consideration to adding geofencing to the fitbit ace lte so that parents are notified if a child enters or leaves a given area? I saw a previous post that mentioned this could be done if a child is signed in on an active tablet or phone, but I have the fitbit ace so that my child doesn't need to have a phone.
