Blood pressure Fitbit device with historical tracking

It would be great if Fitbit either created a blood pressure monitor and a glucose monitor that would sync with the dashboard or if they would team up with another company (Omron, diabetic community app) to have their product sync with the dashboard instead of having to manually enter it.

I just recently bought the ChargeHR and was hoping software could be developed to measure the blood pressure in it as well? I love the product but would not be willing to buy an additional or new one just for this feature, but would like to see it added. Thank you for your time.

I would love to be able to track Sugar instead of Sodium

This sounds great. However, Fitbit trackers are not intended to provide medical or scientific data.

I just read your response to DuboisP concerning glucose readings. Where did the information to your first point originate? I do not recall being asked if I were a diabetic when I signed on as a member. How do you know how many Fitbit users are diabetic? BTW, according to the American Diabetes Association there are 86,000,000 pre diabetic people never mind those of us who are already diabetic. Using your logic, Fitbit would not exist. Who needs a Fitbit device???? Fortunately, someone who was forward thinking developed it and "they" came. Did Fitbit survey their users concerning including a diabetes tile? Perhaps if you bilt a diabetes tile, they would come. Concerning your second point, a user recording their blood sugar data is no different than recording one's weight or food consumption. You would not have to include insulation information or any kind of diabetic medical guidance. The Apple Watch can collect one's blood glucose information and the Apple Watch is not a medical device. Inputing one's blood sugar information would not make Fitbit any more of a medical device than it is today. Did Fitbit protest doctors recently saving the life of an individual suffering a cardiac arrhythmia by downloading the necessary information concerning the time of the event? How many Fitbits were sold as a result of this incident? I have controled my Type 2 diabetes for almost 20 years through exercise and diet and without any medication or insulin. I have also had five heart operations. Every day I record my weight, blood sugar information and food consumption. I did not need a Fitbit to do this. After my wife and I heard about the the above incident, my wife purchased a Fitbit for me and will be purchasing one for herself. At least consider surveying your members to determine interest in adding a diabetes tile.

I really miss being able to log blood sugar on Fitbit. It was incredibly helpful and motivational to be able to see how exercise changes my glucose. I'd love it if those could show on the same chart on the app. I've linked to Tactio but that link keeps dropping and I lose back data every time I re-sync. Very frustrating. This is getting to be a deal breaker for me. Next time I buy a tracker I'll pick one that helps with my diabetes too.

I dont like using two apps to log information. part of my fitness requirements is to log my blood preasure and glucose.  As with everything when deciding where my product loyalties lie , i will usaully defer to the product that does the most for me, in  one place with the least amout of hassle.

I am a nurse practitioner and work with diabetic patients. I would love to see a health feature where you could track blood glucose readings, blood pressure readings and cholesterol levels. Seeing these items in coordination woth diet and exercise would be awesome. Tracking carbohydrates in its own tile would be great for diabetics. Also, Fitbit could be great combined with an insulin pump manufacturer.

I'd love to be able to monitor my blood sugar on this app. Would be beneficial for many diabetics. Typically it's useful to monitor fasting glucose, 2 hours after a meal, before a meal, after exercise and before bed. So it would be helpful to indicate time and whether it's fasting or before or after a meal or exercise basically. I love my fit bit and the way it integrates with aria and my fitness pal and this would make me love it even more. To be even fancier, it could sync with a glucose monitor like the one from OneTouch.

I'm honestly surprised that after many years, there's still no way to just add my glucose tracking. The tools suggested (Secondary app) don't integrate well with Fitbit either. Fitibit is SO close to being able to do everything for everyone, but with millions of people diagnosed with Diabetes, this still isn't a widget?

The blood glucose log on the PC version on the fitbit flex tracker is really useful for type 1 diabetics and other people who need to keep a log of this crucial information. Unfortunately the dashboard on the iOS app does not have the blood glucose log function, so if this became an option that would be extremely useful. Thanks

Good to see someone else finding a Fitbit helping them track more than just how trim their stomach is. In my case they're helping with my autism rather than diabetes but the broad theme is the same.

Here's hoping this request of yours meets with a favourable response. Best of luck -- Graham

Diabetes Type 2 - I believe it would be helpful to have a entry on the Dashboard of my Surge, to log my AM glucose checks. I use this device to help track my activity levels and share with my physician. This combined information would provide a broader picture of my daily health. Maybe a "Surge-D" for diabetecs to use in this way.

As a new Fit Bit Alta user, I was impressed with tracking ability but VERY surprised there was no place to track blood glucose.  There are LOTS of pre-diabetics and diabetics out there trying to improve our health!

Please (re)add the feature for blood pressure tracking.

It's very important to have HR, steps and BP in a unique platform.

Thanks

BP is what got me started with this renew my body, so I heartily agree.

I am a diabetic and would love to see BP added to the app as well as the app working with my OneTouch blood sugar app.

Totally agree with you. Medication tracking would be great too, maybe with the ability to set a reminder alarm.

As a diabetic the app is lacking the ability to input each blood sugar test so we have a complete view of health, exercise and diet. I see other tracker apps already do this. Do we need to leave Fitbit to get a real solution and not a work arpund?

I think Fitbit should come out with a new band that does the normal steps and everything, but it should also include a BP monitor. They should also try to keep it small enough for there clip back unlike the charge HR.

As a newly diagnosed diabetic, I would love to see a couple of features added to the Dashboard.

I would like to see:

  1.  The ability to easily enter the readings from my meter (Even better would be automatic retreival from it).

  2.  The Food Log to display the Carbohydrate count of foods I enter.

  3.  Automatic creation of silent alarms based on time from entry in Food Log.

just to simplify the monitoring of sugar levels...a glove...fishnet material over the right/or left hand...with a pad like on the thumb..it opens  with velcro and u then push gently against the pad which gives a green yellow or red light to give feedback on your levels at any time...when it is being worn...called Di a bet

This is a great idea and I would buy one right now if possible, tracking BP and HR is important for cardio workouts. Even better if automatic. However given Fitbit's rather abrupt response to individuals who did track BP/HR manually (or want to) on this site (search the community forum), such as myself, I doubt you will see one anytime soon. Apparently the interest from Fitbit is in how many steps you take, where you are, and what you eat, not how you are doing. Exercise and what you eat DOES impact your heart!

Is the monitoring of sugar levels still under consideration

No clue. The item has met with very little discussion by FitBit.

Please keep me in the loop as to product development as it pertains to a wristband that monitors sugar levels. Tks
