Bring back Spotify app to Versa 4 & Sense 2

Request to restore the ability to store offline music via Deezer, Spotify, or any other music media application on the Versa 4 and Sense 2. Just like it was able to do so on the Versa 3 and Sense (1). Otherwise you are going backwards with regards to the developmental process of your product, and severely limiting its usability.

@Guy_ thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it 🙏 Could I really trust the Versa 3 to work or is there a risk I get fooled again?🙈 I have an Android phone so it has to be something that is possible to connect with that which limits my choices.

I've been in contact with the store now and I can return it, but its sad. Besides the Spotify bummer Im really happy with my watch and otherwise I would'nt want to return it. Why could Fitbit not just make the Versa 4 work with Spotify..why oh why??😅😭🙈😂

And it was'nt just the sales person who misinformed me, the info pages on the stores website clearly says that both Versa 4 and Sense 2 is possible to connect with Spotify, it says so multiple times in the info text so I wonder how many more ppl has been deceived by them🙈 The store in question is the biggest electronic store in Sweden with lots of stores all across the country so its a pretty big bummer for them to make by not have the correct info to their customers about the items they sell🫣😅

@camilla.briard - not sure why the store is posting incorrect information.

Unfortunately the future for Fitbit looks rather bleak after Google has started removing one feature or function after another for existing customers and also from watches since it took over.

The denial of access to all elements in the online gallery took effect  last month.

Next week the online web dashboard is being removed for everyone and next year Fitbit accounts will no longer be supported.

What else will be removed in between is unknown.

Google also often raise the minimum level phone OS supported whereas other brands support a much larger phone base compatibility.

Maybe it's only Apple watches that don't work on Android.

Hi
I also bought a Fitbit versa 4 and was very disappointed with what I couldn’t connect to. I had a sense which I loved but while charging one day it stopped working. It was just past the warranty so I was not offered a replacement, only a discount. Chose Versa 4 thinking it would support more than versa 3…wrong! Supports less…very disappointed

@Guy_  thanks for your reply and sorry for late answer.

The store I bought my Versa from has apologized for being wrong on their website about the Versa 4 saying that it dit worked with Spotify and offered me a full refund so thats good. But Im still bummed over the fact that its impossible to connect Spotify and Versa 4. After all Fitbit is made for workout and training, and to not be able to connect a Smartwatch with your Smartphone's music app is a joke since most people want to listen to their music while working out/running/training 😅 But thanks to my brother who adviced me to buy a Redmi smart band 2 instead Im now able to control my Spotify🤩🥳 (and see my O2 level, my sleep and steps, workout ect). That band costed 199 SEK online (about 15 USD including shipping🫣😂) a bargain compared to my Versa that costed me 2500 SEK 🙈

And one more question if you dont mind 🙏 Sometimes the calls and texts from my phone dosen't always reach my Versa, even though the phone and watch is just inches from each other. I had everything pared together and synchronized of course. Sometimes it did work and sometimes not. If I just had re-connected the Versa to the smartphone it often worked but not always. How many times a day am I supposed to re-connect my Versa and phone for this to work smoothly?🫣

Thanks in advance for your time and patience with me🫣😊🙏

@camilla.briard - thanks, I'm glad you found a solution. Unfortunately it seems the V4 Fitbit App can lose connection anytime whereas the V3 is far less troublesome.

I am in total agreement, I am considering returning the watch and opting for another brand.

Did the recent update. DISAPPOINTED is the way I feel. You gave us YouTube music, I don’t have you tube premium I have SPOTIFY. I’m definitely regretting my decision to buy the sense 2. I’ve been with Fitbit since Fitbit 2014. Won’t be buying a new one it will be anything other than Google!

To be honest, it feels like Google's Acquisition made Fitbit go backwards. I bought a Fitbit, not a google watch. Removing all third party apps was already really stupid, now the community and developers can't help improve the device or make it more useful. Now Spotify? Like...what's the point of having the new Sense 2 if you removed a plethora of features from the old sense? I'm not paying for YouTube music, I'm sure a lot of people don't want to either. Listen to your customer base, they helped you get where you are today.

why was this removed in the first place.. its like the fitbit team just looks for features people use to remove!

So we can have Youtube Music (and only with Premium) but not any other service such as Spotify and definitely not the generic music controls? I see how it is. Way to go, Fitbit

I wonder how they will argue against generic music controls now that they’ve added YT Music app.

This is not just for exercise! I work with children and do not want to have to carry my phone around while working but I currently need to have it with me if we are listening to music so that I am able to skip songs that I do not like or we have already heard. I need my Spotify app back!! (Versa 2)

I agree music/podcast controls are essential to any smart watch especially those directed at fitness. I have never met anyone who works out in silence. Most people going to the gym or practicing a solo sport like running, skating, or rowing, listen to music.

The point of an excersize smart watch is to not have to bring your phone to your practice. I love having a fitbit to count my steps and heartrate but I still have to have my phone when excersizing just for the music. I'm an ice skater, spinning and falling over are part of the sport but having a phone in my pocket is a liability. Having a phone in my hand or a bag throughs off my balance and is dangerous, and I have my bruises for falling with it in my pocket. For me watch would be ideal to avoid this.

As much as it would help me I commented here because I need the designers to understand how important music is to personal fitness and fitness culture. I love the fitbit app and community but the lack of music features is a deal breaker and not just to me.

I'm not sure why the original thread of 750 comments won't let me post to also support this request.

3rd party app support and the continued use of many apps we have come to enjoy on previous versions of your Versa Watches should not be held hostage against the very loyal customers who own previous versions of your watches.

What's the response from Fitbit?... request that feature and we will consider it for future development. I'm ashamed for you.

Taking your customers money hostage to then only "consider" if that feature is worthy of being deployed.

Im embarrassed to the lengths google is going to push their youtube music app over Spotify, another product ruined due to the never ending greed of big tech.

Well done.

I don't expect anything to change, otherwise it would have by now.

WHAT. A. JOKE.

I don't want either app. Just let me load my own music on the device. If
I have to have my phone with me to make it work I don't need the watch.

Hello, we still can't use Spotify on the Sense 2 or Versa 4?

I noticed that if you check Spotify in the Fitbit settings, you will be able to control Spotify. It won't be integrated into the watch like Youtube Music but at least you can change music.

2 years no response. I'm not asking for a Spotify app, just a way for us to control our music with the stupid thing. Should have bought a Garmin.
