Bring back the ability to edit activity information

The latest app upgrade removed the ability to edit activity information (again). This impacts app generated activities & manually added activities. Since dashboard access has also been removed, there is no way to change/update an activity start/end date/time, duration, distance, energy burn, name (standard or custom), & active/impact minutes/zones.

Not having the option to edit the exercise is extremely frustrating. My tracker records elliptical as swimming. I removed the swimming option from my app. Now the device doesn’t record any exercise when I use the elliptical. I’m not able to manually track this either since elliptical is not option in that section either. This forces me to have to calculate the time I’m on the elliptical so I can manually add the exercise. I’ve been a Fitbit user since the 1st Fitbit came out. This change is absolutely ridiculous. If I didn’t recently purchase my Fitbit 6 this I would switch to another tracker, which I will do when this on dies , which will likely be the day after the warranty expires.

App generated activities provide useful information AND a graphical representation of heart rate. Manually entering an activity SHOULD replicate this representation yet the graph is excluded. Personally, I regard this as a bug in the app as the algorithm should be similar for both! Correcting this would enable us to zoom in and analyse data for any activity.

I use this for every activity.  Fitbit doesn't identify pickleball.

In addition, the graphical heart rate would always appear on a manually added acitivity or adjust appropriately on a edited activity.  That feature was removed months ago when google released the major update.  I contacted an agent and he kept insisting the feature was still there, but it wasn't.  Your own support people don't even know the features that are being removed.

It's extremely frustrating that you keep removing features.

Pretty soon I'll have to buy a new device that does what I want, but it won't be a google device.

Fitbit records me mowing the lawn as road biking. It’s a walk behind mower not a ride on mower. Am I really mowing the lawn that fast?  I’d love to be able to change the activity to something more accurate like lawn mowing.

Please bring back the old dashboard!!! I am up in age and cannot operate nor see the app as well as on my computer. I have been using your

product for years, but am about to purchase a different product that will be user friendly and actually care about the clients!

As the updated apps get worse and worse, it's obvious google really doesn't care about us or our complaints . I know when my charge 5 stops working the replacement will not be a google product.

Bring back the ability to edit activity information, AGAIN!

It's surprising that a company as technologically advanced as Google can't update a product without screwing up the functions.

So annoying that this no longer works now that the dashboard/tracker is no longer available web browsers.

Sorely needed fix!

I totally agree with all the comments above!  All of the functionality taken away with the recent changes are causing me to look for my next activity tracker.  I am dreading that because I have become so comfortable with my FitBit(s) over the past ten years or so.  Not being able to edit exercise activities nor being able to log food for previous days has made my FitBit less helpful to me.

It feels like Goggle is trying to get people to abandon their Fitbit devices and switch to other brands. With the Dashboard removed from the web, there is little ability to customize. Google, if you’re planning to abandon Fitbit, can you please let us know? Many of use have been using Fitbit for years.

Ditto to the above.i was coming here for the same reason with really no hope of a solution. My problem with my tracker is it always has a delay in starting the activity. So, I always would go in and adjust the activity start time to the accurate time. Now, I do that but it does not save the change. If I delete the activity and re-enter it with the correct time. it over reports the number of steps and other data. I went to Google Help 3 times. Tried EVEYTHING suggested and still not resolved. So frustrating. 😡

I've been with Fitbit for many years but I am tired of all the updates that make it difficult to use.  I like viewing and making changes to exercises on my laptop and I can't now.  My next device will not be a fitbit, and that may be real soon.  Obviously you don't care, so bye bye!

I bought a Fitbit in February and wish I hadnt,

All my rides register as Mountain Bike for some reason, up until recently I could just change it to bike if it was on the road, now I cant do that.

I used the dashboard on my laptop regularly and now its gone in the name of improvement

Activities from Peloton, sometimes come across, sometimes dont, no consistency

I did the premium trial, it offers nothing that is of use to me,

If I hadnt dropped so many $$ on this Fitbit I would just go buy something else.

In another thread about this topic the user said she talked to customer service and was told the ability to edit was removed based on feedback from customers. I find it hard to believe anyone would ever want a feature removed even if they didn't use it, let alone a feature that allows you to correct something the tracker got wrong in the first place. The exercise auto-tracking feature is not infallible and certainly not even close to 100%. I've been correcting my auto-tracked Mountain Biking activities to Bike--I'm a road biker--for some time now but to remove that ability altogether is nothing less than condescending and poorly thought out. Please restore this feature at least until you can guarantee auto-tracking of exercises will work perfectly every time!

Being able to manually edit activity details is also very important for me.

Another use case: I was tracking a hike via a manually started activity, but my Fitbit battery died mid-hike. When I charged my Fitbit, it recorded the hike length as the time from when I started the activity to when the Fitbit had battery again, or 1 day 8 hours. I am not able to change the duration to accurately reflect the length of the hike, and this messes with my data and tracking.

I don't mind the way the new "sleep" screen looks but my fitbit decides I'm asleep anytime I sit at my desk for more than 20 minutes.  That is annoying, but it is just ... well... stupid... to not allow me to DELETE a sleep cycle it says I had even when I didn't. I can edit and set the length to 11 minutes, sometimes 10 minutes, but no less.  If it's going to be WRONG 80% of the time, at least let me delete the wrong sleep cycles.

Yes! I've recently taken up swimming and I always used to view my progress with how many laps I was doing. As of last night (Sept 02.24) I no longer have laps! Why remove this? Please bring it back

The app isn't recognizing my walks as exercise but when I log the 1/2 hour in it adds a bunch of steps I didn't take. They were logged AS I WALKED. I cannot use the GPS beforehand because I live rural and service out here SUCKS. Why is it not recognizing it anymore and WHY is it adding steps??? Am I supposed to leave the Fitbit behind? I'm unhappy with the changes. It is frustrating.

OMG - they have now removed step count and energy burned (aka calories) from activity details (effective September 1, 2024).  How stupid to think customers wouldn't want to know the step count for their walk/run (or any other activity)!

I lost my activity from yesterday this morning, but today's walk and yesterday's have shown up. I'm hoping it was just a weird glitch. I got to keep the steps I didn't earn yesterday though.

I wish they would either bring the dashboard back or make it easier to edit your activities, specifically steps on the app.  Personally I don't care about the distance I walk as much as I do about the number of actually steps.  Not sure the reason they got rid of the dashboard.

We absolutely need the dashboard back. I like to compare my stats and now I can't just select the week from last year. I have to go to the app and click back 51 times! And manually adding an activity instead of being able to edit it is not user friendly. I'm at the point that the 2 years of data I have are useless an I will be moving to a different device that is NOT fitbit/google. Extremely disappointed in all the changes,

PLEASE give us the ability to edit our exercises. My run is being registered as elliptical and my walk as a swim. GPS maps weren’t given for either. Calories were totally inaccurate. I hate using my FitBit now. So frustrated.

Just updated my app which apparently updated the tracker as well. Now I have to sort thru 40 different workouts to find the Run workout. It is my most used workout but it’s actually number 25 out of 40. I don’t trust the tracker to automatically track my workout. I prefer to do it manually. Really annoying that I can’t arrange them the way I want or choose which ones are on the tracker.
