Bring back the old sleep summary page

When I had my Charge 5 and the first few weeks of having my Charge 6 the app would give me a sleep summary page with, Sleep Stages, Time in each stage, Oxygen levels and Bedtime and wakeup all on a handy page. Since a recent update I now seem to get a much more basic three tiles and I have to open each one and look through for all the information.

The new sleep log isn’t a patch on the original.   I mean who decided to change it at Fitbit ?   Fitbit customer is normally great but not about the new / rubbish sleep log version.   I just hit a brick wall.  It’s changed.  You can’t get the original version back.  End of story

It's more than just the appearance, they've screwed up telemetry as well.  I'd commented once before that unlike the earlier version the "update" fails to capture naps.  Well, I had difficulty sleeping last night, took a solid two-hour nap, and there is no recognition of that fact.  So in addition to having trashed the UI it appears the development team has managed to screw up how physical data is processed and assessed.  Others have posted similar issues with inaccuracy, so I guess bottom line is we can't really trust the data any longer.  Note that I restored the useful UI on my phone (android) and I have the new and not at all improved version on my iPad.  They both report the same information.  What a way to decimate the value of what had been a great and trusted product.

Its all been said but to maintain the input.  Agree agree agree. Sleep details now awful and we pay to use this feature. Hard to read. Inconvenient. Bring back the old layout.  I regret updating the app this week. Time for a new device for me I think.

I’m so disappointed that they have ignored all of the users - I’m sure many more would have complained of getting to the point where you can respond wasn’t so difficult 😞

I have, and cannot find the way to do that. And Fitbit is of no help.

he WAS CEO of Fitbit. Fitbit is now a division of Google (Goofle). They
don't care about what the customer thinks or cares about. They care about
what their executives have decided on, independent of customer service or
customer interests.

Absolutely true, it was not an improvement. It’s messy & confusing. Not to mention that now it’s totally inaccurate as far as my sleep statistics go. Half the time I don’t get a score & when I know I’ve had a good sleep it’s reporting the opposite. I definitely will be looking at some other watch options. I’ve only used Fitbit, but it may be time for a change. Especially when I did need product support for my last watch, I got none. (The face came away from the back) There are many other good brands out there now, so get it together Fitbit!

One more vote to *please* revert back to the previous version.

Just seeing the attached screenshot in this post makes me realise how much I miss it.

Today, I barely use the Fitbit functionality of my pixel watch 2, besides for occasional workouts. Previously I was going through my sleep stats ever day.

I simply don't care for the new design, and especially the lack of details that used to be there (have all been mentioned previously, but for me was seeing all previous nights graphs compressed in a neat, endless list - now you have to go to the week view, and the summary only shows the sleep duration/score. And of course it clears each monday ><). It feels like a Basic app feature now, not Premium.

If I find a better app for sleep & Fitbit doesn't improve (in the real sense, not in the 'ideas' committee driving current changes), then I'll be switching over for sure.

I agree with you 100%.
I hope they will listen.

I agree. The changes to the sleep summary have made it pretty much unusable for me. It was so good before - the picture you posted - everything was so clear and easy to understand, and then previous days were right below so you could just click and see the same easy to read info for that day.  It was so clear and straightforward. It was normal print and graphics that were easy to read. I picked FitBit over other brands just because its sleep tracking was so good and easy to read and understand.  Now it looks like a totally different app, as though I just went out and bought a new tracker by another brand. It looks modern and trendy, more “pretty” to some, but no longer clear, readable, detailed and useful like it was. The same info might still be there like someone said - but I just can’t see it - clicking around from day to day and the new graphics, I just can’t make use of it.  I actually stopped subscribing to Premium because it made you click 3 different charts to see the info. It is just too hard to get a good picture when you have to click all over. I stopped using it until my Premium subscription expired. I was so glad to have the normal view back. Now this. I know I accepted the new app by allowing automatic upgrades, but that is really not the point - it would have become old and unsupported on newer iOS versions (for those of us on Apple) anyway. I saw one person say they clicked the icon on the top left and it went back to the old version - that didn’t work for me, but it makes me think that would be a great idea - let the user choose which look they want - the old or the new.  I understand some people might want the new “pretty” version, but looking at the number of comments and the number of postings about this new look, plenty of people don’t like it. I don’t need 50 different clock faces, but some people like different looks - ok that is fine. Now just apply that same concept to the app itself - let us choose to keep the look we like, the one we have had for a long time. For me, I don’t think I will stay with FitBit if they don’t get the sleep tracking better.  That isn’t a “threat” to FitBit, I am nothing to them. It is just frustrating to look at this new app and that kind of defeats the whole “improve my sleep” thing. So my request is they give us a choice in the look of the app - not just the look of the face of the tracker.

The new Fitbit sleep summary has two issues: 1) Awkward looking appearance compared to the old one.  The up and down wavy tracking line reminds me of looking at a hospital patients EKG on the monitor.  2) The sleep detail was presented comprehensively in the previous version.  Please do a rollback on this one.

I work in the Technology field and unfortunately there's always a push to enhance products in an attempt to attract more users and make things look new.  Often it's unproductive from the user's perspective.  That's the case here with what Fitbit did.

We, collectively, hate the update on the sleep section of the Inspire 3 app! If you would read the support forum, there are numerous complaints. We preferred the way it was, before you changed it to this line graph that is extremely hard to read, you have to manipulate it to find the information you were used to seeing, etc.

My sister hasn’t updated yet and still has original sleep log.  I wouldn’t have updated if I had known I was going to loose the normal sleep log that I really liked.

there IS a way to reverse it if you have an Android device (I found a post
on a Facebook Fitbit group). It works AND I shut off auto updates.

I find that the new update screens are extremely difficult to read. Especially the sleep score that used to make you feel good when you had a good score or an excellent score with a smiley face. And now that face is gone, and it doesn’t give you any sort of incentive for most of the things to get better.
I agree

Please tell me how I can roll back the last 'update' which was a serious DOWNgrade.  Can't believe Fitbit made such an awful awful change to the sleep display. Makes my Charge6 a DUMBwatch and not worth what I paid for it.

In your news version of the app, you made changes to the sleep tracking. It is now confusing, not user friendly and kinda pointless as of now.

@LizzyFitbit and @RebeccaFitbit

Both of you have either initiated a thread or commented on a thread about Fitbit’s recent changes have sparked significant disappointment within the user community. The updates to the sleep tracking, color palette, and functionalities for walking and treadmill activities have made the interface much harder to read and navigate. Despite making all these unasked-for changes, basic functionalities like maintaining the default lap counter of a mile remain unaddressed. The new color scheme is particularly problematic, as it complicates the review process for users who rely on clear, accessible data visualization.

A fundamental principle of enhancing an application is to add new features without removing existing ones. However, Fitbit's recent changes have done just the opposite, stripping away essential functionalities that users have grown accustomed to. This not only disrupts user experience but also undermines the trust and loyalty that Fitbit has built over the years.

The community has been extremely vocal about these issues, flooding forums and social media with feedback and requests for clarity. Yet, despite the outcry, there has been no official response from Fitbit or Google outlining a plan to address these concerns. The silence is frustrating and leaves many wondering if their feedback is being heard at all.

Fitbit and Google need to acknowledge the community’s feedback and provide a clear, transparent plan for the future. Users deserve to know that their voices matter and that their needs will be met. It's time for Fitbit to step up and restore the functionality and user-friendly interface that its loyal users expect and deserve.

Sincerely, a 10 year heart attack and Fitbit user

Well said. As buyers of Fitbit products and monthly subscribers, we deserve, at the very least, to know that our voices have been heard and are entitled to a response from Fitbit and Google.

OMG looking at your screenshot of the old sleep app page makes me so sad!  I forgot how great it was!!  So much clearer and easier to read.  Better info. Arggh.
But recently a newer update has compromised functionality as well.  I used to be able to edit an incorrect start time and fitbit would give me a new sleep analysis and score.  No more.  Now I can’t even get the actual sleep time - I just get a total time in bed - which I know without fitbit!!
