Bring back the old sleep summary page

When I had my Charge 5 and the first few weeks of having my Charge 6 the app would give me a sleep summary page with, Sleep Stages, Time in each stage, Oxygen levels and Bedtime and wakeup all on a handy page. Since a recent update I now seem to get a much more basic three tiles and I have to open each one and look through for all the information.

Folks

This just worked for me (android) ...

1) Clear cache and all data for the Fitbit app.
2) Log in and do all your settings again.
3) Verify that the old sleep graph is back and working.
4) Disable auto updates for the Fitbit app in Google Play to stop it
'upgrading' to the latest version again.

I expected to lose all of my historical data by doing the forgoing, but
didn't. Try it at your own risk, but it worked for me.

PotionBrother, This worked for now but I've gotten it to work before. Unfortunately, it always goes back to the new interface after about a day, even though I've turned off auto-update for the app in Google Play. I'm curious to see if this stays fixed.

Hi

I've just re-thought this while (oddly) out on a tracked walk, and I think
you're almost certainly correct. Of course, I was getting two bits of
advice confused - reinstalling and clearing the data. But reinstalling
would likely only install the latest version again. If it didn't then, yep,
you'd have some chance of disabling auto-update working.

Still - I'll see what it's like tomorrow.

Cheers

this DOES work temporarily to bring back the old GREAT graphs.

about the third or fourth time you sync, you WILL have to clear data again
(I originally posted this several weeks ago)

It works every time to bring back the old graphs, and no, you will lose
nothing.

AS NOTED, DO NOT allow the app to update however (I used a process to
revert my app and that too worked for a while).

A friend of mine posted this process a few weeks ago.

it DOES work but only for 3-4 (5?) syncs, then you will have to clear data
again, setup your Fitbit on your device again, do all the "allow functions"
...

it IS great that I can get the GOOD graphs back but a bit of a pain to have
to re-setup my app every 3 days or so (but worth it for the added detail I
can get from the app)

I’m very disappointed with the downgrading of fitbit app.  I would expect improvements and not useless changes.

There is a permanent fix I found in a Reddit guide after googling how to revert back to the old version. All your data lives in the cloud somewhere so isn't affected.

I tried living with the new version for almost 2 months but it's hopeless. Recently I've been waking up earlier than usual, and I wanted to review in the app when that started, if there's any relation to bed time, sleep patterns, days of the week or other trends. In the old app this was a piece of cake, one long scroll chart to review all historical data side-by-side. The genius developers at Google decided to remove that, though, and replace it with vacuous and vague bar graphs and historic views that only go back 1 week before clumping everything into averages. It's like they want to deliberately make it less useful, to prioritise prettiness and 'AI personal coaching'. **ahem**ic.

Reverting back to the old app was the only option for me - and boy, am I pleased to have it back.

I agree with you totally.  I did this as well about a month ago and I love having it back to the way it was.  I have had no issues with reverting back to the old and it works like a charm, just make sure you turn off your auto updates or it will go back.

By the way, are you on an android.  I heard it doesn't work for iPhone but not 100% sure on that.  I have android.

I like the previous vertical, solid colored Bar Chart for viewing my sleeping pattern. The new crazy version shows horizontal colored (of just different shades of purple?) bars, followed by vertical dotted lines connecting the bars.... it's very messy, complicated, confusing to clearly see...

The look of the new sleep score summary is not as streamlined as the old look. Also, there are some features that the old version had that the new one does not. I hope enough people complain that you will switch back to how it was before.

I'd like that back too. When I get up I KNOW how long I've slept. It's the quality I need tp know.

OMG! The old format is back and I didn't do anything. Am I dreaming?

Is this fix for Android only? I haven't seen a fix for iPhones.

I woke up this morning and the old sleep tracker format has been restored. It still shows no data for yesterday, but it has all the sleep stages. I hope this is permanent, but I don't trust Google one bit. I'm skeptical after these last few "updates" that they will mysteriously remove it again.

try restarting your tracker and or your phone. Also check for updates in the Play Store and what ever it's called on I phones. However, I didn't do anything.

I’m on iPhone and it hasn’t happened for me either.  I’ve tried all the usual and downloaded the new version from Apple App Store which is 4.17. And nothing has changed.

However, the date my life was turned upside down was 18th April and I know some people got this update on 11th April (inc Tech press) so it may take some time to roll out to many people.

I’ m going to be holding my breath now for about a week.
