Bring the old food log interface back.

It appears that the food log input format changed today (2/13/18). Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me? The new format is much more cumbersome in my opinion. I prefer the original format. Any input/comments/recommendations welcome!

I agree. My look/format changed yesterday 2/13/19. I dislike this format. How can we change back to the previous format?

Fitbit I known your trying to help with new and improved, but I am 67 yrs old and have lost 108 pounds using the old food log! Lets not fix what's not broken! It's way to busy and timely for me. Remember it's not just the young people that use Fitbit older people use Fitbit too and from the remarks the younger people don't like it either. This kind of change is not good. I liked to see what date I will meet my goal which isn't there any more! Can I use this format? Yes, but it takes a lot more time for me. Do I like it? NO! Please put it back the way it was and don't mess with excellence!!!  Remember bigger is not better. CHANGE IT BACK, PLEASE for all of use who love Fitbit! If you think you have to change it give us the option to use the old one or the new one don't just change it.

The new food logging system SUCKS.  It appears from the comments that I'm not alone with regard to this new interface. Please restore the previous food logging interface.

When this was introduced last year I had to stop using the food log  because it was useless to me as a diabetic.  I need to have my carbohydrate count per meal to give myself the correct dosage of insulin.  This format doesn't meet that requirement.  As others have stated its cumbersome, and too involved to be convenient.  Please return to the old log, you are not giving  your customers what they want or need with this new format.  I will periodically look to see if the old log is reinstated until I find a new program to meet my requirements.

Yes please change it backSent via the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone

The last time this happened I called and they said they would be changing it back.  I called again and the lady had no answers for me.  Has anyone else heard if this is going to stay?

I do not like the new food log!  Please change it back.

I am in complete agreement with commenters who want to go back to the older, more simple and efficient food log page.  I will not stay with Fitbit if the new version remains the only choice.

Its awful for those of us who need macros in grams since that is not in the app. The old page was easy to save and navigate from a smart phone and this is the worse. Probably leaving for Cronometer.

Come on! Fitbit. You make changes to the user interface for unknown reasons. Once again, you've made the food input page more complicated, more cluttered and totally less useful.

Revert to the old version that almost everyone liked before than this "monster."

Oh, this, please. At least give us the option of staying with the old version. I don't have a smartphone so this whole layout is COMPLETELY foreign to me, and makes no sense. It's visually busy and doesn't show the stuff it needs to show. Just the basics, unless we opt otherwise, please!!!

This change 'for change's sake' was not only a preposterous waste of effort by one of fitbit's 'stable of geniuses' who clearly does not use this platform to log foods as a means to staying fit & healthy. It's a bloated extravaganza that offers nothing -- other than removing functionality, clarity, and ease of use. Now we have some monstrosity that has no elegance built in, but just an array of interface 'features' offering NOTHING to enhance the food logging process for fitbit customers. The important features are gone; unneeded & interruptive ones added, and Fitbit, in its arrogance, gave no warning before forcing this upon us. Wish I'd have purchased the Apple Watch as I had been considering before purchasing this Versa last December. Next time . . .

Agreed. Drastically less functionality, takes longer to enter food, and is totally unclear in terms of how many calories are left for the day. Two conflicting pieces of information (in the graph, vs. in the info below with macros). Hate this so much.

I can not understand why we should start a new blog as we are as customers already put thousands of NEGATIVE COMMENTS about new Food Log.  It looks like cheating the customers to ignore all our comments.  99.999999% of us already said:  PUT THE OLD FOOD LOG PAGE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

revert. Revert. REVERT!

This is visually unpleasant and cumbersome to use. I'll be looking for alternative software if you don't listen to the hundreds (if not millions) of negative comments. Please HEED THE PASSION of the EXPERT USERS — all of us who love our Fitbits and the ease of use of the old UI.

The design and coding of this new screen seems to have been was done by what I’ve always called “Techies in a Dark Room” (i.e., no human interface, needless complexity, minimal testing).

This result is an unwieldy, buggy behemoth that must have been very expensive for FitBit to develop. And it was a very costly mistake for FitBit – in customers and in good will.

I can only hope that all the people involved in this fiasco are at their desks right now, putting their belongings in boxes to take out of the building.

I agree - old Log format needs to be returned.  There was absolutely ZERO reason to change it in the first place if Fitbit were really trying to please their customer base.  Somehow I can't help but feel there was some other reason behind this, since the last time they tried this the exact same thing happened - hundreds of strongly displeased customers & a handful of those who approved. Yet for whatever reason they thought it made sense to spring it on us yet again.  Gotta love Corporate America.

I agree with all the comments made above; dark screen, don't use the graphs because it is more important for me to see calories in and calories out, etc.  My biggest issue is the loss of the screen that shows a clock shape and colored dial telling me I am under/in/over goal calories in vs. out.  Clicking on the dial would tell me that I needed to burn ____ additional calories to get back IN.  I used it all the time if I wanted that little extra to eat.  It motivated me to move and helped me loose 10 pounds since July 1, 2018.

I taught nutrition in a health professional college program and the truth is, it is all about calories in and calories out.  You HAD the easiest visual I have ever seen with activity and food all in one place.

It said this feature would "soon" be on the app.  That never happened however I could work with it on my computer alone.

Please, please return this feature.

I lost 80 lbs using the original food log.  this new one (as stated previously) this is to cumbersome. I  quit a diet plan because they keep changing there format.  I hope I don't hace to do the same here.

After using the new site for a day, it is definitely not as straightforward as the old version but I think I will get used to it - however there are a few important improvements that need to be made:

  • When searching for a food, the results pop-up only lists 5 items under "popular" and 10 items "all" results regardless of how many items in the database match the search term. That makes it very hard to find foods since you have to try numerous different search terms before you finally find one that makes a suitable food appear in that limited results list. The old version showed far more than 10 results, and even in the apps when you search for a food you can keep scrolling down well beyond 10 items. (For an example, try searching for "sandwich" on both the new online log and on the app and see the difference in the amount of results that come up!) I don't see why you would let us keep scrolling in the apps but not on the online log. Surely it's not too hard for the developers to change a parameter somewhere in that search functionality from "10" to "unlimited", or even just a larger number like "50"?
  • When creating or editing a food, bring back the option to add more than one serving size. E.g. If I'm adding a pizza, I want to be able to set it up so it has the option for both "slices" and "grams". This was an extremely useful feature and without it foods can't really be set up or edited properly.
  • Show the quantity logged for each food (e.g. 50g, 1.5 cups, 1 serving...) without having to go in to the edit screen. This could easily go in the same place as the calories/fat/carb etc breakdown for each meal time currently is.
  • When editing a custom meal, you can't edit the quantities of existing items in the meal, you can only add or delete things. As far as I can tell the online dashboard is the only place you can edit your custom meals, so it would be really good if we could actually do that properly!

I agree with the majority!  Bring back the old food log and leave it alone. How much did you pay whoever screwed up, the perfectly easy and quick food log.I don't have the time  to use the monstrosity that was created and will have to find somewhere else to log what I eat. Something that a sane organized person created. This one is too cumbersome
