We got my father a fitbit zip so he could join in on family challenges however, although he has a computer so has a fitbit "dashboard" it's not windows 10. He doesn't have a modern mobile phone or a tablet so he can't take part in the challenges.
The challenge section should be avaliable on older windows programmes.
That said, Windows 10 is very similar to Windows 7. The change from XP to Windows 7 is more jarring than the change from Windows 7 to Windows 10. You can add the Fitbit App to the 'pro' (vs. 'con') column as a reason to upgrade.
It's been a year and a half since someone suggested Challenges on the desktop, they obviously don't care to do it. That's my vote, but I fully expect it will be ignored.
My phone died a couple days ago and I am a competitive runner, I think it would be usefull to be able to create challenges on the FitBit Dashboard. It would be helpful to users without phones.
I agree that this is a necessary feature of the FitBit. I love it on my phone, so why are we deprived of it on our desktop. Some of us work behind desks and have our FitBit dashboard as one of our startup page in order to keep ourselves motivated and not look like we're just goofing off on our phones. Hope you guys get this figured out, otherwise I think most of us will start looking at other options.
Please add the challenges to the Dashboard, if you really sit down and think about it - it really doesn't make sense for you to only be able to access challenges via your cell phone. Who thought that was a great idea?
Hi I have a very basic phone and use my laptop to add steps food etc. My daughter lives in Canada and I am most dissapointed that we cannot set challenges against each other. Please let us all have the same features. Other than this I am delighted witgh my fitbit.
YES! I totally agree. The dashboard is more detailed to begin with. I can't believe everything else is there and then some, but there are no challenges!
So I asked tech support about this issue, they said the "support" staff looks into it, I replied that it has been two years of people asking for a dashboard challenage, they reffered me to this page, so it looks like we who are not phone users, or win 10 will ever get to do challenges 😞
That's fair but understand the timeline of when things where released... Do you expect Fitbit to continue to support the iPhone 3GS... Something you can't even buy in retail anymore (like Windows 7)?
Well Windows 7 was released on 2009, at that time the iPhone version that was available was the 3GS.
There's a feature request to make the challenges available on the web dashboard, search for it and vote.
It's not a question of whether Fitbit discontinued supporting Windows 7.
Fitbit enables support for challenges on all versions of their Fitbit App. They publish a Fitbit App on every platform that allows it. That is: Windows (phone and versions of the full OS on more recent OS's), Android and iOS.
The platforms that don't have support for Apps don't have challenges available. That includes: Windows (before Windows 😎 and Mac OS X. Yes, that's right. Macs can't join challenges either.
Well, when I've called with a problem and mentioned I'm running Windows 7 I've been told to upgrade to Windows 10 (it's free); use my smart phone, etc. The reluctance to use Windows 7 has been tangible leaving me with the impression there is a problem.
Since I do not have a smart phone, I connect on fitbit with my iMac. However, I can not accept any challenges. Will fitbit consider allowing challenges on destop computers? There are many of us that would like to see this happen.
