Charge 3 Ability to Add/Delete Alarms in Tracker

Features to add:

- set a new alarm in the watch interface (instead of using phone everytime)

- delete the alarm in the watch interface

- countdown timer with hrs option ( currently just has max 60 min)

These features are really useful on a daily basis and I hope you guys understand.

Fitbit Moderator, I don’t understand why you keep saying this function already exists? If it does, please explain how? My new charge 3 is about to be returned for a refund if this is the case.
Not being able to set an alarm directly from the device is a total deal breaker for me too, that’s crazy inconvenient. Instead of taking 10 seconds to set an alarm directly on your phone, now you have to set it up on your phone app, sync it which takes 10 mins sometimes with a WiFi connection.

Fitbit won't implement this feature because it won't generate additional revenue nor attract new customers. However, it may lose customers if it doesn't provide this functionality.

It is very annoying to change an alarm time before sleeping with a fitbit. It hurts sleep occasionally, too.

@LuciaFitbit Would you be able to advise us whenever this can or will be implemented? I'd also like to be able to modify alarms directly on the charge3 as using the app can be a hassle and there's also a limit on predefined alarms so just being able to enable/disable them is far from ideal.

Hi Fitbit,

can you please add an option to edit alarms on the Charge 3. I need to get up a different times during the week depending on my schedule and changing alarm times through the app is tedious. Change the alarm, sync fail, alarm gone from the list, restart the app, sync, change alarm, sync,... you get the picture. Something along the lines of settling the countdown timer perhaps?

I need to get up anywhere between 4 to 7am depending on whether I'm traveling that day and if so what time my flight is which makes just too many options for presetting multiple alarms and enabling/disabling them from the device as needed. An edit option would be a great help.

Hi @KevinB123 and @maxxx77, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option on Charge 3. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about here. Keep adding your suggestions!

Hi everyone, and thanks for sharing this suggestion. We’re very happy to let you know that this has been released on the Charge 4. You can set, delete or turn off an alarm directly from your Charge 4. You can find more details about this feature here. Also, for instructions to update your tracker, check this help article.

@sid-charge3, in recognition of your excellent suggestion, each of your votes will now count as 5 votes – you have the power! Thank you for sharing this idea, and thanks to everyone who voted and commented for your enthusiasm which has now materialized for everyone’s benefit. We hope you all enjoy this new addition to the Fitbit product or service!

Nice, too bad you have to buy a whole new watch to get the feature.

Can you please make this available on the fitbit charge 3? It doesn't count as released if it is not available on the device we are asking for it to be available on.

Hi,

I just tried and I can turn the alarm on and off on my Charge 3. Make sure you have the latest software update and you should be able to use this feature.

Yes I can turn alarms off and on from my watch but I can't set new alarms from my watch which is what we are asking for on the charge 3.

@LizzyFitbit it hasn't been released though, has it?! The request was for the facility to be made available on the Charge 3, as the community have charge 3 devices. Some of us only bought our charge 3 devices recently, as you are still selling them. Therefore, telling us 'its released! Go spend 100's not on a new device' is not morally right.

As many have said, adding and removing alarms on the charge 3 take AGES to sync on a phone. It took me 25 mins the other day just to add in a morning alarm! Other devices (-ues, now including the charge 4...whoppee) have the ability to do this, ON the device, so why don't you give us the ability too? It's not like we would really buy a charge 4 just for the new alarm feature!

Totally agree with @Fbt_user that this feature hasn't been released on Charge 3.

Is Fitbit going to release the same feature on Charge 3? I don't see a reason not to support existing Charge 3 users.

The alarm syncing is actually buggy. There are many times, the alarms sync fails to work until I reboot the phone or the fitbit app. It is a very poor experience and it actually made many Charge 3 users not satisfy with their fitbit.

@LizzyFitbit Please mark it as not released and kindly escalate to Fitbit if this is not planned on Charge 3.

All I know is that I have a Charge 3.  I can set my alarm using the alarm icon on the tracker. I can turn the alarm on and off using the Charge 3 which is updated to the latest software 28.20000188.11.

To turn on and off go to Alarms on the Charge 3 tracker tap the alarm icon and you can  turn it on, and then set the time you want the alarm to go off, or turn the alarm off. Not sure what everyone is talking about as using the alarm on the tracker is working for me.

@krava2 To clarify, are you able to set a new alarm time directly from your Charge 3 or do you have to use the app on your phone? What we want to do is set a new alarm time (not simply turn an already set alarm on and off) directly from our Charge 3 watch and not from the app.

CMBB  -- I can set a new alarm time directly from the Charge 3.  I do not use the app on my phone.

@krava2 Ok cool! Weird that they said it was only available for the Charge 4 in their post here and in their marketing materials. I will try harder to see if I can now do it as well on my Charge 3.

@krava2 I can't find your mentioned firmware in https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1372 for Charge 3.

Thanks.

I can only tell you that my Charge 3 has software 28.20000188.11 and that is was put-on my Charge 3 when I received an update. Maybe you need to force an update, but I don't know how to do that.  I just update when Fitbit tells me to update. Wish I could help more.

I found this article on how to update the tracker:

Hope this helps.
