Check SpO2 at anytime on supported Fitbit devices

The new Sp02 clock face is nice, but can you also add the ability to check Sp02/pulse ox at anytime during the day rather than just during sleep?

Hi @mozolcer, thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion about having the option to track SpO2 data during the entire day. I've moved it into a similar request. Come on FitBit, We've spent over 2 years trying to get this feature and you guys send this "Canned" response...again!!!  You KNOW we want this feature. We've voted on in many times in the past.  We just want to give up.  You guys just send this message, pat us on the head and send us on our way.  If anybody thinking of buying a fitbit stumbles on this thread, Please look at how they treat their customers.  I'm glad I got rid of my Sense now and got a GW.

You're probably going to get this removed. I always do. Take out the last
sentence and you might be OK

I got a message like this removed. But the rep said that she would answer
my questions directly. Several days later she hasn't.

The bizarre thing is that Fitbit won't tell us why they won't enable real
time or spot and periodic sampling. The hardware is there, and has been
for some years now. And everyone else is doing it.

As the initiator of this post, I must say….
I called on the day I bought it and was told to start a thread.
“ If enough people want it, they will add the feature because it has the technology to check on demand, SPO2.

They never said, and I asked, how many people it will take to add this feature. Unable to tell me.

Not surprised by this lack of regard of people’s worth.

It seems clear from their marketing that they have 'idea people' who come
up with cute things to add, and desired things to deny or to remove if
really popular. The purpose of the forums seems to make people think that
something people want could someday arrive.

That's a good point.

The same thing happened to me! So I did. Pfft.

I know. So I can't say if I got a new watch that might have SP02. But if I
ever did, I'd go back to my Sense if they added the feature. I mean, not
that I replaced it. I didn't!

I've gotten nothing out of my Sense that my Versa didn't do, though it has
features I don't use, and is missing the one feature I really wanted. And
sleep software is now less inaccurate or fanciful, but still feels like I'm
rolling dice to get a number. But we all got dumped with the pile of S---
app that is full of boiler plate - even worse under premium, hides more of
our data, and is painful to use.

It’s just shameful that’s it’s still not been implemented. I bought one Fitbit charge 5 and an Apple Watch and I can say that so far the Apple Watch is handily kicking the a** off the charge 4 in terms of features and functionality. The Apple Watch is a 100 times easier to setup and use. The only saving grace for the charge 4 was that it had a background ppg sensor but that was lost once I found out that one can’t do something as simple as check my SPO2 now!! Who does that? The product manager for this should be fired like yesterday. I’m about to return this and buy a second Apple Watch. It so so freaking unfriendly and useless. I can’t access charts on the web, no family sharing options - it’s like a scrappy cousin who gives away their best ideas to Apple to make it usable.

I've been tracking this almost as soon as I bought my Sense earlier this year. I keep hoping I'll be able to track my oxygen anytime I want. How much public interest does there have to be to add this app?

Great point. Let’s ask Fitbit, see if they have started to care.

So stupid me purchased a sense 2 today and just realised it doesn't show real time SpO2 aka on demand. WHY NOT??? I actually was not planning on wearing my watch whilst I was asleep therefore this function sleep function is useless to me. I want current readings not an average. An average doesn't mean anything to me because i want it to be relative to how I FEEL at the moment I take the reading. I.e. if I feel short of breath I want to see what my O2 readings are so I can get an understanding of what is going on. So unfair and insane it's not available.

Same here. I bought Versa 3 reading SPO2 tracking mentioned and advertised everywhere and when I get it, BOOM. It only tracks SPO2 while I am sleeping, Not realtime. Feeling cheated.

I was afraid of that.

Moderator Edit: Personal info removed

You feel cheated as do many others who bought under the same
misconception. Return your purchase if you can. Seriously doubt there
will be anything done by FitBit anytime soon. Good luck!

Many of us feel cheated; a primary reason to buy a SPO2 Fitbit is to check
and track SPO2 as needed, not just get an average or a mystery graph with
hidden data when we sleep. We need to know if SPO2 drops during exercise,
normal activity, etc. It's not medical diagnostics, but gives a heads up we
may have an issue and use it to track workouts.

Currently, lots of cheap and expensive watches do this.

Last time I said this, a rep nuked my post, telling me I could just ask her
questions and get answers. I did, but she never answered. And still they
won't tell us why. Now, S2 is released with capabilities removed,
only new thing
I know of is some sort of improved stress detection. Hey, I wonder if it
could tell that I'm stressed out by all this.

I would at least like to know WHY they don't let you check 02 on demand. It doesn't seem like anything technically complex given they already have the mechanisms to do it in place. Please: communicate with users - what's the deal on this basic functionality? Why have an o2 meter that doesn't behave like an o2 meter?

Seeing that the Sense 2 measures SpO2 and skin temperature at night anyway I was real baffled when In realized it can not be done on request when I want to know those values right now.

As the hardware/sensors are obviously present I suggest this feature be implemented - a very easy software integration.

Dear FitBit,

I think we as users are fed up with you and your inaction on this one feature.  You lost me as a customer earlier this year after I bought a Sense that promised SPo2 readings.  I later I found out it was ONLY when sleeping.  I switched to another smartwatch that does on demand SPo2.  I know I'm not alone either.  People have been asking...begging for this feature and no word why you haven't implemented it,  It can't be that hard.

It would be nice if the saturation meter of the charge 5 could also be used manually during the day so that you can measure your saturation in between, for example when you are sick.
