Combining activities

I use the Surge and sometimes I run with the free-run tracking mode on then I would pause it when I am not running. Sometimes I accidentally click finish instead of resume. Now I have to start another session of the free-run again. I was wondering if it is possible to be able to combine these two sessions when looking at the dashboard or be able to select the last session from the fitness tracker itself. Just a thought.

Just did 36 mile bike ride but as I had a jacket on ended the ride twice trying to pause. Would be great to combine them together to show stats of one full ride.

I went on a hike and my Charge HR automatically added my activity to my log. Problem is, it added it as four different activities instead of one giant one. It would be great to see it as one cohesive hike.

I would like to be able to combine activities. Last weekend I golfed and it put the activity in a two sperate "walks", would be great to combine them so it just shows up as one longer activity.

Thanks 🙂

Yep - I'm the same - often accidentally pressing pause & finish on my Surge when I'm hiking. Would love the ability to add two activities together on the website.

This idea sounds pretty cool! Being able to combine two different sessions could be very useful and will help users so they don't have to start a new session all over again.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this board!

So, other than fitbit  "liking" our ideas, what's the verdict on implementation ?

That's the feedback that matters.

Hi @sniffmeh and commenters, thanks for your suggestion.

We're always working to streamline our offerings as we introduce new products. Although it has been a very popular product for us, we will soon stop selling Fitbit Surge. If you're looking for a new device, we recommend considering Ionic. Ionic is a motivating timepiece packed with fitness guidance, health insights, music storage, apps, and more. You can learn more about Ionic at https://www.fitbit.com/ionicor compare the Fitbit family of products at https://www.fitbit.com/compare.

Please note that we’ll continue to support Surge from a software standpoint, along with any questions you might have during your use of the product. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can continue to provide you with Fitbit devices you love and help you reach your goals.

I think your suggestion is a good one, so I took the liberty of changing the label and title so that it is applicable to future products and exercise developments.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feedback with us.
