Creat a generic non-step count exercise shortcut

The problem is simple: there are non-step count exercises that could all be swept up in a generic exercise shortcut.  The activity could then be started/stopped on your device.  It should have no step count and count no change in elevation.  Just the basics: time and heart rate info.  That way a lot of different exercises that so far Fitbit is ignoring could use the same feature.  I want it for horseback riding, but I also saw a post with someone who was frustrated that spinning uses an accelerometer.  This problem extends to many other exercises.

This would create a fix for a massive segment of the Fitbit community.  Why would the company not just do it???  (Apparently the people working on the AppleWatch have figured this out).

Nice suggestion, thanks for sharing @DrKendra. We look forward to hearing what other community members think.

Perhaps there could be two options - one that had gps (and so could track distance and speed - useful for horse riding), and one that was without gps (just heart rate and duration).

Agree with DrKendra, it seems like it should be a very simple solution that would make a difference for a lot of people!
