Customize Premium Exercises

The user should be able to build its own WOD´.

Basically the mobile app has a list of exercises.

The user can pick some of them to created a training  ( WOD )

providing a identifier nname and the range of time for each exercize.

Once it is completed it will be sent to the smartphone.

The WOD would be executed on the blaze like the Fitstar training.

Thanks

I agree, there should be some way of making a fitstar workout on your tablet at home then bluetoothing it to your blaze so you can go outside, and hey presto, no need to take anything else with you, or keep staring at your phone, just feel the buzz on your wrist to know when to start and stop, and get instant feedback on your heart rate, so you know to push more or less. If you can make your own workouts you can make sure it is set for the exercises you can do. If Fitbit want to make money, each exercise added could be an in app purchase, or just charge for the making  of each workout, though the cost of the blaze is already quite high 😀.

The Blaze should be able to offer customisable HIIT workouts; for instance, you go to the app select what intervals and activities you want, and then choose the exercises. For instance, 30sec on and 10sec rest, activity 1 - pushups, activity 2 lunges, activity 3 - dumbell curls, etc.... THen how many times you want to repeat each stage for, so 5 exercises 3 times.

Then sync the watch

Go to your Blaze and select Excercise, and custom HIIT (or whatever the name)

Then you get your 30sec on, 10 sec off with haptic vibration to tell you when to start and stop, and if possible the little illustration of the exercise, just like the fitstar workouts on the Blaze.

It makes a lot of sense to have customised exercises on fitstar as physical needs of individuals may differ. This also makes the life of personal trainers much easier and makes it easier for the patients/clients/athletes to do the exercises on their own.

This seems so obvious, but Fitbit is a little behind on the technology, I guess. I think the Apple Watch can do custom workouts. I'm kind of fed up with Fitbit. They don't have nearly as many perks as the Apple Watch, and my Blaze hardly ever syncs, even when I tell it too. It only syncs when I call Fitbit customer service and they walk me through like 20 steps on how to manually sync. Seems like it should automatically sync, but whatever. Once my current one breaks (which should happen soon based on how long my other ones have lasted), I'm getting an Apple Watch.

I am voting for this for sure! I was excited about the fitstar feature to find only 3 workouts!? It was a highly disappointing moment please make additions as well as stretching sessions or even hip and shoulder mobility if you really wanna be cool

Hi @Lueck767 thanks for your suggestion. Just a quick update that although not exactly as you've suggested, Fitstar has been relaunched as Fitbit Coach which has personalized fitness programs and customized routines. Fitbit Coach Premium also allows you to "favorite" workouts. You can find out more here.

Hi everyone, thanks for your suggestion and comments. There's a mix of ideas here, so just a quick update that Fitstar is now Fitbit Coach where you can choose an exercise session focused on your daily goal. Fitbit Coach Premium also allows users to "favorite" workouts which will compile those favorites together (kind of like a 'playlist'). As far as customizing length/duration of individual workouts, that is still not possible (so I'll keep this open). Thanks!

I believe what everyone is looking for is a way to modify their work outs and be able to see it on their wrist.

The new Fitbit Coach seems worthless to Blaze owners. As I understand it, we would still need to have a phone, tablet or computer nearby to access the exercises. As far as I'm concerned, staring at a screen for prompts defeats the point of having a device like the Blaze. That harkens back to 1980s technology, and exercising to Beta/VHS tapes. Further, sending exercises from a phone/computer to a headset fails to benefit from the Blaze at all. Honestly, we can already find apps that do that easily enough... or can generate a fitness audio playlist and simply select it from our phones like we are selecting music.

As someone else said, we are looking to be able to access workouts from the Blaze itself, without carrying additional devices when exercising.

I would love to fully customize my exercises and imagine that allowing users to string together exercises might actually be easier than converting the full menu of Fit Star exercises into Blaze form. However, all I really need are three exercises... each 25-30 minutes in length and suitable to my skill/abilities. I could even select the from the old Fit Start menu. If I could load those onto the Blaze, and forget about it, that would be a vast improvement. I'd choose Tough Mudder + two similar. I say that because the difference between Tough Mudder and the longstanding Blaze options/new audio run coaching should be obvious.

Note: I keep Bluetooth off (for security reasons) except when synching... so any option requiring a continuous Bluetooth connection will also be worthless to me.

@LizFitbit thanks for the update, as you say "Fitstar is now Fitbit Coach" when will the blaze be updated from having the Legacy Fitstar to Fitbit Coach on the device?

The Fitstar function in the Blaze is not so powerful as it could be if we could upload new different workouts in it, whether a Fitbit Coach (it would be awesome) or a custom workout (for those capable of doing it - not my case).

I completely agree that something like this needs to be implemented. I just downloaded fitstar coach and purchased the premium option thinking I would be able to add workouts to my Fitbit. Come to find that you have to use your phone in order to view the workouts. Completely defeats the purpose of wearing the blaze. Hope this can be done somehow and soon!

I have recently become a member of fitbit and I have had the odd problem but it was instantly fixed with the great customer service help over the phone. It does help get me motivated and I love most features with the Blaze watch which is the one I own. If I could suggest anything to improve it would be that you should be able to choose on fitbit coach which exercises you would like to do on your watch. I think that way you can choose the right exercises for your level. Thank you Beth.

Hi @Ushmonster thanks for your suggestion which I've moved here. We won't be adding interval training to Blaze, so the closest Feature Suggestions would probably be this one to customize workouts on Fitbit Coach. Unfortunately there aren't plans to add any more Fitbit Coach workouts to Blaze, but if this feature is developed, I imagine it would be made available on other smartwatches. Thanks

@Kylep87 just spotted your question - there aren't currently plans to update Fitstar to Fitbit coach on Blaze so it will stay as it is for the foreseeable future. Thanks

These are good ideas. Here is what I would suggest:

1. allow user to build a custom workout by adding exercises, stretching, cardio with time, rest, reps, etc.

2. have an option to set how much time you want to workout. Sometimes you want 30 minutes or 15 or even just 5 to get a quick one done. And adjust the exercises in the workout for that time.

3. add search for the workouts, by type of workout, length, exercises included.

4. add other coached programs for equipment like elliptical or rowers

An app that I like and wish Fitbit Coach would borrow from is Sworkit.

DO IT! Please, that would be an awesome function and make this device a million times more functional, include the ability for types of pullups and chin ups and i would enjoy using it as a training interval timer for rock climbing style exercises. Or if we could just have the means to customize to our hearts content!

I have suggested this many times. As expensive as these are I would think that being able to customize exercises in your settings panel would be at the top of the list. Everyone's exercises are different. A year ago I asked belly dance be added to it. It still isn't done. Why cant fitbit just do something to add a customized fitness thing to our settings panel?

I would like to create a custom list of workouts.

It would be very helpful if I can customize the workout details like reps and interval.

Many apps do workout logging, but Fitbit Coach has integration with the watches, as well as the variety of workouts with instructions.

Please let us create our own workouts from the existing exercises. Ability to set order and length of each. Alta HR.
