Just Tweeted at Fitbit about this issue. I am new to fitbit and was inquiring about the ability to change the quick add for water consumption. Hoping my tweet to Fitbit gets their attention...
I think this forum is completely unmonitored by fitbit and it's development team. I understand there are forum moderators, but doubt they work for fitbit. I urge everyone to take to facebook, twitter, email and snail mail to get our message heard.
Agree with others ...would love to be able to change the qty of the quick add water a.punts on dashboard. Its not as motivating when logging it requires more than 2 steps. 🙂 Thanks for having the I section and at least hearing us.
Can you make it possible to customise the water quick add sizes or to be able to add more in. Quick add is a really handy feature, but would be even better if the user could edit the amounts for the sizes they use every day.
I see this has been request for the past 2-3 years and still hasn't been sorted. Surely it can't be that hard?
I agree that water volumes in the Quick Add feature should be customizable. I sometimes drink a 16 oz bottle, but I more often drink a 12 oz or 20 oz bottle. I have never seen a 24 oz bottle. Right now, I have to input each value and it is frustrating. Since people are so individual in their water drinking habits, the Quick Add volumes should be customizable to reflect each person's preferences.
In the order versions of the fitbit app, you could customize the sizes. Now I cannot seem to do so anymore. This totally sucks. The only quick add I use is the 8oz. Don't these guys know that almost every water bottle is 16.9 fl oz (tap twice for a liter), or 20 fl oz? I drink from Dasani bottles (20oz), Ozarka and Nestle (16.9) and my personal Brita bottle is only 20 ounces. This makes no sense to me why can't we just put in our own custom sizes.
Yes, I know I can manually enter it. Just so annyoing each time. I drink almost a gallon of water a day, and I am very OCD about tracking. The metric mesurements aren't so great either.
This just sucks. What happened?
And for the fitbit moderators, why do we have to do extra steps to get this resolved? I have seen multiple thread about this issue! There is only one update to this and it's done!
The default quick settings make no sense. There are 2 ways to enter 16 oz., 3 ways to enter 24 oz, but no quick way to enter 12 or 20 oz, both of which are common drink and cup sizes. A more logical setting would be 8, 12 and 16. Then, with no more than two taps, users could enter 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 and 32 oz drinks.
Best option would be to allow the user to customize the settings.
I'm a software developer / user experience designer, and most of the suggestions on this site would be trivial to implement in software. I'm appalled at how long some of these have been sitting out here with no action from FitBit. You really don't care about your customers once they've already spent their money, do you?
This really is a no brainer feature. Everybody would use it if we were able to. Make it happen. In the app and tracker where it's possible (charge 2, blaze).
Why is an idea like this put on hold by a mod? (Reviewed by a moderator) Who is this mod that need to be convinced before he/she forward it to the dev team?
I am 100% behind a modification to change the presets. I drink out of a cup at work that holds 350ml, and my workout bottle contains exactly 800ml, so the presets rarely apply to me. It would be nice to be able to modify them, or at least add one or two custom categories.
I did a support chat with them just now... here is what was said. He gave me a link where we can also request this feature. (look for the text that is a lot bigger & bold)

Juan D:Hi Louisa, my name is Juan D. How can I help you? Me:Hi, I had a question about the quick add options for the tracking of water intake. Do you know if there'll be an option (again) to have our own quick amounts? Juan D:Hi Louisa. I'll gladly help you with the water intake inquiry. Me:None of my cups/bottles are 8, 16, or 24 oz, so it gets frustrating having to enter in every single amount manually 🙂 Juan D:I totally get where you coming from with the water options, Louisa. Juan D:I'll be right back. Please allow me a couple of minutes while I check the most accurate answer for you today. Me:What I have are either 12oz, 300ml, 800ml, 330 ml, or 18.5 oz. (I'm sure I'm not the only one) Me:Thanks for checking! Juan D:You are welcome! In the meantime, would you please provide me with the email address that you use with your Fitbit account? Me:of course 🙂 XXXXXXXXXXX Juan D:Thank you for the information, Louisa! 🙂 Juan D:I appreciate your time. Juan D:After looking in my system the water log, I found another option for this specific request. Juan D:If you go to the Food log, you can add drinks there with your specifications. I totally get your idea, and I ask you to please help us to raise the voice, so we can have an option for that with the water intake. Me:does that go towards the water intake goal on the main dashboard? Juan D:Wonderful question! Let me double-check that for you, allow me a minute. Juan D:Thanks for waiting. That option will show up in the food part. Me:Bummer. Juan D:In the main dashboard you can add the water manually in the amount you select. Me:Yeah, but it get's annoying manually putting in all my custom amounts day after day. I already have problems with all the custom foods I would have to make to be able to really use the food section. Juan D:Woah! Totally get you! I know the feeling that this might generate. However, we are still working to improve our logging water options and features. Juan D:I really thank you for your understanding and patience. Me:Do you have any idea how long that might take? I'd think that with the option already in place with the food, that it wouldn't be too hard to add that to the water part... (there is a forum thread in the fitbit community help forum that has been active on this topic since 2014. Juan D:At this moment, I am trying to find a workaround to the fix the issue, so we can do it until we develop the feature. Juan D:To be completely straight with you, I can't tell now when that might be, but I can tell you for sure that all of our new trackers has all the knowledge that we have acquired through out this years and from our customer's feedback. Juan D:Adding your voice to that post, or to a new one on our feature request site, will help a lot Juan 😧https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Requests/idb-p/features Juan D:Thank you for your suggestion. We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we very much appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. Me:thanks! I was just about to ask for a link. 🙂 I have posted on the thread I mentioned... not I get a lot of emails whenever someone else does too Me:now not not Juan D:You are very welcome. I'll make sure in addition to that, to leave proper notes and comments for your voice to be heard. Me:Thank you for looking into this 🙂 Juan D:I'm happy to help. Our product development teams are always finding a way to ensure we're delivering on what our customers need and want. Me:Good to know 🙂 Juan D:Rest assure that your comments will be taken into consideration, Louisa. Juan D:Are there any other questions I can answer for you? Me:No, that is it for now! Juan D:Great to be of service! Juan D:By the way, after our chat you will receive a brief survey about the support I gave you in this same window. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Me:I always do those 🙂 Juan D:I certainly appreciate it. 🙂 Juan D:Thanks for contacting Fitbit. Have a great rest of the day. Me:You too Juan D:To end this chat please go ahead and click "end chat".
This topic is like the thermostat on the wall of your office. It doesn't really do anything, but it makes you feel better to think you have some input.
The bottles of water that I drink from have 16 oz. (e.g., Fuji water) sometimes, but more usually contain 20 oz. (SmartWater, Dasani, Aquafina). Occasionally, I will have a bottle that is 16.9 oz. (Safeway's Refreshe). I have yet to encounter a 24 oz. bottle and almost never drink from an 8 oz. cup. It would be really helpful if I could reset the three available buttons to the three sizes of water bottles that I actually drink. Of course, manually typing in the amount is not that time consuming, but it is just annoying to have two of the three preset buttons be in amounts that I never use.
Would it be possible to allow us to enter customs size water amounts instead of the presets. I use a 30oz bottle and a 20oz bottle but I have to go in and manually add them in once I've drank that amount
I also request this feature. I have stopped tracking my water since it requires too many steps to go in and manually add it. Being able to customize the quick add water amounts would make a lot of people happier! But I love my fit bit regardless!
I also would request the feature as I for example drink 12oz at a time. I see this request has been floating around for several years so wonder if the thread even gets read.
I actually came to suggest this. I generally drink my water 32 ozs at a time, which with 24 and 8 being in the quick add, is not hard, but it would be nice to set my own levels based on the amount I usually drink at a time.
