Don't remove Challenges & Adventures

Do not remove Challenges & Adventures! A lot us use these features to motivate us and connect. My kids are able to connect and do challenges with their friends too.

Challenges and Adventures were the main reasons I chose Fitbit over Apple in December.  I also got the scale.  I feel like my research was false since the features I used to make my decision a few months ago will now be gone.  They are fun, keep me connected, and motivated.  Please do not remove them or at least communicate you are going to replace them with something similar.

Getting rid of the challenges will result in loss of users for sure.   It is a foolish mistake.

Without the challenges I have no reason to stay with Fitbit. My next purchase will be an Apple Watch!

I've only been using Fitbit for 6 months but from the beginning when I didn't have any friends, earning badges has been a great motivator. Leveling up got me excited and now that's being taken away from me. Why?? It's a simple indicator of how far I've come, it can't be that hard to keep badges in tact.

Then when I realized there was a community I could connect with through posts in open groups, I was hooked! Seeing others push themselves and reach levels I didn't think were possible for myself was inspiring and made me want to work harder. Many closed groups invite others to join only AFTER they have proven activity through their posts or have interacted with that person in a challenge. How will I see new user posts without the open groups where everyone has access?? And now that I've stepped up my game, how can I inspire others through my posts when they won't be able to see them if they aren't in my same closed groups?? You're taking our ability to connect away!!

And challenges!!! How can you possibly justify taking away the MAIN FEATURE that everyone loves and uses?!? The support, encouragement, friendly competition and banter that happens in those challenges is why we are here!! Finding these friends and stepping with them week in and week out has been a blessing and the idea of them ending has absolutely gutted me.

Fitbit, I hope you wake up and actually listen to your users. The uproar in the last two days is deafening and the implications for your company if you follow through with this business decision are dire.

Please keep the Challenge feature. 6 members of my family have Fitbit watches just for this sole reason. We will be switching to another watch if these features are removed.

As with everyone else, one reason I sided with Fitbit was for the challenges.  Very disappointing to say the least.  I wouldn’t be surprised if FB comes back with “We listened to our customers and now have a new exciting feature called “Challengez””. So, hurry up and enroll in our Premium subscription today to feed your competitive side!😉

Unfortunately, this will be my last Fitbit.

I bought a new fitbit instead of Apple because of the challenges, trophies and bingo. It keeps me motivated and there are a great group of folks to compete with. Have already downloaded Stridekick and lots of people have gone over. I won't be purchasing another fitbit after this. Don't get rid of challenges, bingos and trophies.

A lot of fitbit users are going to Stridekick. The  closed fitbit group  I am in a lot of them have gone to Stridekick. Some of them aren't going to Stridekick  instead they are going to switch to Strava and some are going to use Google fit.I  also will not purchase another fitbit  since  challenges, badges and trophies are  leaving.

Attention users - if you want to keep challenges, GO LEAVE PRODUCT REVIEWS ELSEWHERE! Verizon, BestBuy, Walmart, etc. You need to get Fitbit marketing department's attention!!

I started Fitbit in 2015. My employment linked using a Fitbit to a verifiable walking steps program that gave us discounts on our health insurance.  Almost all of my co-workers got Fitbit at the same time.  We all interconnected on Fitbit, we tracked and encouraged each other, called out and complimented each time someone crossed a lifetime badge, (India, Nile, etc).  We could look at each others lifetime stats, and it made it FUN.  It was motivational and Fun.  Over time, Fitbit took away functionality to see friends lifetime stats.  As people started getting Pole to Pole (final badge) or Satellite for floors, we have submitted numerous requests for badges.  Instead, they pull Africa calling it a racial trope, and Russian Railway because we all know Putin is an **ahem**, but they take away stuff, never add.  Fitbit never adds stuff, only takes it away, pulling the ability to see your friends stats was big.  Now taking away challenges, and (Removing) open groups as a way for future Google Improvements.   Name one improvement?  Everything is going downhill.  I have had four Fitbit watches, lucky if they last two years, to reach a goal of getting the Pole to Pole badge.  I should get that this year.  Unless Fitbit (now Google) have anything new and interesting to add, or a reason to participate, I will be leaving Fitbit, I assume that is the reason, is they are trying to kill it intentionally, probably to get us to use Googles replacement...but I will balk and go to a competitor.  The sad part is, Fitbit 2015 was fun, fresh, innovative...and it was the networking that made it great.  It has been constant decline.  Mood = Loyal customer nearing departure.

@gotta_go

I  understand why you would switch to a competitor and not purchase a Google watch  unfortunately Google doesn't like us saying that we will do that.I  guess they can't take the Heat that users are putting on them to keep the challenges or lose users especially if your fitbit dies and you have to decide what to replace it with.

Why would you get rid of challenges?! Is it really that hard to maintain?! My family is all across the country and the one thing we all do each week is challenges together.

There will be no need to buy Fitbit if you get rid of the challenges, it gives friends incentives to go out and walk.  I think you are making a big mistake. My next fitness tracker won't be a fitbit

Keep ;the challenges!!! There is no reason to get rid of them. It's what keeps us all motivated which is the purpose behind the challenges. Challenging us to walk more and be heart healthier. I will unsubscribe from premium since I paid more to be able to use the Bingo challenge. Plus, when my Fitbit Luxe goes, I'll move on to another tracker.

Challenges are 90% of the reason my family has your product. We do challenges and bingo all the time.

Why is fitbit getting rid of the challenges and adventures? the bingo feature is one of my favorites, and they all provided added challenge, friendly competition, and variety to getting and staying fit. I'm really upset they are discontinuing them. They should not be discontinued as they provide much to the fitbit platform that everyone enjoys!

My husband and I purchased fitbits for our Christmas presents and challenges were one of the main reasons that we chose Fitbit over other brands. So disappointing that a loved feature is being removed. Challenges need to stay.

Well, Fitbit, just wondering . . . How many those 1,286,000 users you claim do you think you’ll keep when you remove all of the key features, apparently including iOS and Android apps, you’re planning on removing, in March?

As for me, Challenges were THE motivating factor for buying yet another Fitbit watch rather than Apple that will probably serve me better. Can you please advise me on just 1 reason to stop me from leaving now? My Sense is reaching it’s programmed obsolescence and scheduled to be replaced in a few months . . . Nah . . . Maybe if you change your mind on deleting challenges, but . . . You’re the invincible Google and why would you? If Fitbit fails going forward, do you even care? Just thinking out loud . . . Oh, and why should I keep Premium? Looking forward to your response.

I agree with everyone!  The Challenges are a big reason why I use Fitbit! I received my first Fitbit in 2015 and have competed in challenges with friends and family weekly for years! Keep the feature Fitbit or you will lose a lot of business. I hope you are listening to your customers Fitbit because they are not happy!

@leear  That happened to me also. I  don't plan on buying another fitbit  when mine dies.I  wish Google had never been allowed to purchase fitbit  because  they are doing this  because they don't like competition.

This is the best feature of fitbit. Can't believe there is any advantage to removing this. My friends and I have been competing for over 3 years in the Workweek hustle, It keeps us motivated and gives a chance for some lighthearted ribbing and banter. Removing this feature will cause us all to lose touch and sadly was the only feature that has so far kept me from moving to Apple watch. If this doesn't get addressed by Fitbit, it's time to move to Apple watch.
