Do not remove Challenges & Adventures! A lot us use these features to motivate us and connect. My kids are able to connect and do challenges with their friends too.
Exactly the same here. I bought myself a new fitbit at christmas time, because I love to do the bingos/challenges on the fitbit app with friends and family. I don't even like the tracker I have because there are no available nicer bands that work for me - but i've been wearing it. If i had known this was happening a few months ago, I would have branched out to another company. I 100% will be moving to a different company when this one dies in a few years.
Stridekicks... But it's quite a bit different... I am avoiding it for now , hoping that Fitbit comes to its senses. I am admin for several larger groups and organize daily and weekly challenges ... I'm dreading .... Like panic attack level dreading the possible elimination of challenges and Having to attempt organizing challenges differently . Many have 8-10 teams ... So it's alot of people. Over the years I have had 14 trackers and currently have 5 active accounts ... Just to allow for all of the challenges and ghosting in challenges. I'm so disappointed
This is so disappointing..... Children need fitness goals and motivation... And this will be taken away sadly
Challenges are the sole reason I stayed with Fitbit and didn’t switch to an Apple Watch; a group of 10 of my college friends all have Fitbits and subscribe to Premium so we can do the Get Fit Bingo in addition to the Weekend Warrior and Workweek Hustle every single week. I also do Challenges as a way to stay connected with my dad and cousin who doesn’t live locally and it helps support us all on with our health goals even when we’re not in person. It’s absolutely a huge motivator for us to get moving and we enjoy the banter when we meet up in person. We’ve all had Fitbits that have broken since college and rather than switching to Apple at any of those points, we’ve all opted to continue getting new Fitbits because we didn’t want to lose our little group. Without the challenges we will have literally no reason to stay with Fitbit, let alone pay for Premium, and will join the rest of our friends on Apple.
This is a very sad situation... I could not be more disappointed in Fitbit .... Rather than promoting better health... This is causing me major stress and depression....
I just received an email from FitBit/Google that reflects absolutely no change in your stance. You do not care about your customers when there is no mention of what your future plans are. Canned responses from the moderator give no extra insight. Challenges have been a great thing for the FitBit user base and it's clear our opinion/feedback does not matter to you.
I am very disappointed.... Despite comments by Fitbit users and Petitions with hundreds of signatures... Fitbit is happy to take our money for services and products but not willing to continue to deliver the challenges which are the platform on which community networks are based . Never again will I purchase another Fitbit product
PLEASE keep the Challenges. I’m on my 6th or 7th fitbit device since 2012. I wear my Fitbit is to take part in daily challenges with friends and family. My motivation will lessen without Challenges.
There have been so many times in the past, I've looked at and considered going with a different brand of tracker, but the challenges with my friends are literally the ONLY reason I've stuck with Fitbit over the years. If you discontinue the challenges, you're discontinuing the only thing that made Fitbit unique and what created the "Fitbit Community". You discontinue the challenges, and you're going to lost some customers, including me. Please reconsider and keep this very important feature.
This is incredibly disappointing. Removing the best feature of Fitbit without announcing any actual improvements.
Saying that "incorporating some Google technology and platforms, which will support faster new feature development and deliver a more consistent experience across our ecosystem." sounds like vague tech corporate speak for "we need to cut costs and put our resources where we make the most money".
Other than looking at the hard $ bottom line, has Google actually looked at what differentiates Fibit from the rest of the smartwatches on the market?
This seems like a roadmap to sunset Fitbit so they direct everyone to Google Pixel Watch and thus not maintain two competing products.
Please do not remove the Challenges feature; interacting with friends and family -- near and far -- has been a wonderful experience within the Fitbit device and services ecosystem.
In fact, the Challenges have been the primary reason why I haven't purchased a smartwatch from another maker or a normal 'non-smart' device for my daily wear. The removal of this feature changes that equation as soon as my current Fitbit smartwatch fails.
yeah I've been looking for a metal type band (not through fitbit) for the inspire 2. None exist outside of the one through fitbit (at least as of when i looked in december).
A lot of my friends have both an apple watch and fitbit so I considered switching a few times. The only reason I stayed was because of the challenges and groups. If Fitbit could tell us what the new features would be and whether they would be new challenges, I might stay but not if that functionality is gone for good.
Please, please, PLEASE don't remove Challenges/Competitions from Fitbit.
The Workweek Hustle and Weekend Warrior competitions have been a connecting feature that three generations of my family participate in and hugely enjoy.
I have been a Fitbit user since 2015 -- briefly switched to Apple Watch for 1-2 years -- before returning to my original Fitbit solely for the Workweek Hustle/Weekend Warrior -- how expensive would this feature really be to keep?
I agree completely with all the other comments. If challenges are removed I'm likely to cancel my premium subscription and choose a different device once it's time to upgrade.
