Do not remove Challenges & Adventures! A lot us use these features to motivate us and connect. My kids are able to connect and do challenges with their friends too.
Does anybody know if there are other devices that we could switch to that offer something like the Fitbit challenges? That's the only reason our family uses Fitbits and, after this, we're more than happy to get rid of them. Especially since Fitbit doesn't seem to care and can't explain how this improves the experience for its customers (see the moderator's canned comment).
My daughter bought me a fitbit as a birthday gift specifically to engage with her in regular challenges where we also encourage friends to join. I have in turn convinced hundreds of patients to buy the fitbit as well.
The challenge feature is the main reason why I accepted the fitbit and to be honest, the fact that the company has discontinued challenges makes the fitbit useless to us.
It is utterly short-sighted and daft that the company would do this.
I will stop using mine and I will not be encouraging anyone I know to use this product.
I’ve had a weekly challenge with my friends and family for many years. It’s my main motivation to keep active. Why would you eliminate such a popular feature? Please reinstate the challenges. What were you thinking??
I am crushed. My friends do a weekly challenge and that's how we keep each other motivated. One in Colorado, two in AZ, and one who is retired and travels. We love our challenges. I simply can't believe that there was any really good reason to get rid of something that clearly people have been enjoying so much. Shame on you Fitbit. I hope you will reconsider and bring this back.
I’m also very disappointed that we no longer have the challenge which motivates me & my friends. Our challenge have members in the UK & Aus & keeps us connected. Every couple of years I update my Fitbit & encourage family & friends to get a Fitbit to join our challenge.
The open groups and the challenges and adventures is what brought motivation to myself and other fitbit users. The open groups helped keep in touch with people all over the world and keeping each other going. The challenges and adventures kept us motivated to get up and move
It is ok to improve a product by adding to it, but taking away parts of the product like the groups brought people together who might not actively participate with others
experience, it’s a company who motto of “ do no evil” is a farce. Fitbit was a “widget” bought to be gutted to enhance a mediocre lackluster product that could not compete with the Apple watch on it’s best day. This is corporate greed with complete disregard for the community it serves. Google where is your morale compass? When a company guts the product you purchase and cannot tell you exactly what good things are coming, and when, then you’ve purchased “digital fools gold”. Does Google have no regard or respect for the Fitbit community? Are we just data points to be ripped off, to enhance corporate riches? Maybe the motto should be, “money is first, customers last”!
If we are going to be better off,why does Google not roll out the bragging list, if a brighter future exist. It’s more likely thoughtless useless crap will be thrown at us, an attempted coverup of the rip-off.
Fitbit is on life support, a foot in the grave, yet the goal is to gaslight us into believing a better Fitbit is being resuscitated!
My friends and I are all extremely disappointed with the removal of the challenges! The “Workweek Hustle” kept us all accountable to the fitness goals we set for ourselves. It’s honestly our favorite feature! Shouldn’t customer feedback guide your “improvements”? Surely your data shows how often people are using the challenges? Please reconsider this!!!
I agree. I'm so disappointed. The only reason I have stayed loyal to Fitbit is the challenges - I would have switched to Garmin otherwise - and I've recommended it to friends because of the challenges. They encourage us to exercise more, stay connected and be more active - which surely is the point of a fitness tracker.
This is really disappointing, and a terrible business decision too. Why take away something everyone loved? And take away the thing that kept customers with Fitbit rather than the competitiors? I really hope they reverse this short-sighted decision.
I expect they anticipated a burst of complaints after they withdrew the function, but not perhaps so much as they’re receiving. Google seem not up have asked users about the removal (probably a bit of focus grouping). On the surface, the decision seems to disadvantage older groups who may not have/or want access to other devices. Not exactly EDI alert. Stridekick is fine (just joined) but many of us bought repeated Fitbits for the very functions they’ve cancelled. Poor, very poor service
No point using my fitbit if there are no challenges to do with friends. Might as well go back to wearing a watch! Or getting a run of the mill step counter which is much cheaper than a fitbit. Bad decision fitbit
