Hi!
I really love the fitbit products, but still i find it hard to use the full potential of the fitbit app / fitbit Versa, because of the lack of a proper food data base which can be used in the Netherlands.

Hi @Simone_t91, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to use Dutch food database. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

Please add a Dutch database to the fitbit app. This should not be that difficult as there are several other databases are available. As stated before you could gather information from the Dutch Eetmeter of give us the ability to add food ourselves once the database is established.

Also the ability to scan products and add the information to the database/or use to track food would be appreciated.

Over two years after the first request here... Can we please have a Dutch / Belgian food database?
We don't have English, French or German supermarkets here in this country, so logging food is really more difficult for us.

Although The Netherlands might seem very small for Big America, we really have needs of our own.

Can we please be taken seriously?

My 3rd fitbit and still no dutch food database. Such a shame that I can't fully use my fitbit as I would like to. This topic has come up so many times, but unfortunately nothing is done about it. As many have already written, there is a large group of users in the Netherlands who would also like to register their food. I hope you take it seriously.

Hi, I just got my Charge 4 and am stoked to get my health to higher levels.. but I can see that several others before me suggested to ad a Dutch food Database already. I would like to apply almost the same request, but it would be better to make a joined Database for the BeNeLux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemburg). Don't these databases already exist somewhere and can just be added? Thanks for

Hey Fitbit, please do something about this. You are acquired by Google right? Do something with that big money and help us out here please. Google is always very up to date to their local markets, so I hope this food logging will be coming.

Right now I log everything with my fitness Pal and then sync it to Fitbit, but wouldn't you rather see me not using any competitor app?

It's syncing which is nice, but therefore I never see the over/under calorie needs meter, making me less aware of what my status is.

We Dutchies try to track our food intake with fitbit, but it just isn't working because the dutch products are not the same as in America.
I've seen earlier suggestions as far back as 2016 but over the last years i have seen no new food databases added.

9 October 2023, over 4 years after this first post:
Is it really so hard to add a Dutch food database? After all, we pay for this app, too (I do!)

Well, you've managed to get me to switch to Samsung Smartwatch. This has a Dutch food db.

That's music to my ears @JackyEs !
Another good reason to switch to a different smartwatch.
Thanks for the good suggestion!

I had so many problems with my fitbit, broken each time after 1 or 1,5 years. Battery low every time that I decided it was time to switch. I have Samsung for over a year now and no problems at all.

My first broke after two years, the second after a few weeks. My third one is I think a year old.

I really want a Dutch food database, and FitBit isn't going to solve it.
The online dashbord in the computer has still one tile in Dutch that is broken for years now, and they don't make it.
So I am obligated to work with an English dashboard.
And now they downgraded the mobile app in something horrific. Everybody complains about it, the rates in the appstore dropped dramatically (a 3.3 currently). But they will not do a roll back. So it's time for something else!

This is not going to work out anymore😢, the next brand is certainly not a Fitbit (Google) as there is no Dutch food database....

There have been attempts before to upvote for a Dutch food database. Unfortunately these attempts are many years old. This is a new attempt to get votes to add a Dutch foods database, so we don't have to use the German one and pollute the German database with adding Dutch food

How on Earth is it possible this feature request is being "reviewed by moderator" for years and still nothing has changed.

Come on, The Netherlands have their own "Voedingscentrum" database which you can probably get an API with to easily get it to work.

OR just give an empty database and let us fill it in (like Myfitnesspal). It is so extremely weird that we pay the same amount of money for the device and the subscription as US-citizens, but we def do not get the same treatment.

Exactly that! The solution isn't very complicated. It's the sheer lack of interest to start for their customers . Although I've done the same request by telephone here at the support desk in The Netherlands (even more than once), I'm pretty it never even made it to their backlog. Nobody described and refined the story. Nobody chopped it into tiny, easily buildable pieces (with SAFe that works so well).

What Fitbit lacks is being interested in the customer. It's what you perceive when you call the customer service (they can't do a thing, have no influence and never call you back). And it's what you perceive on these forums, especially with this last release.
