Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

I would love it if I could set my active hours for the times I am active, which, for this night shift RN, would be 7pm-7am.  I love the move reminders.  Please allow the clock to be set past midnight.

I do some graveyard shifts and notice that it will only register what ever I did till midnight, but that's not the whole night for some people. A suggestion I have for the developers is to update it to where it reads a day from when you wake up to when you sleep, mostly for the graveyard people

I am a bartender and work until about 3am every day- the automatic reset at midnight doesn't work for me. It seems logical that a software update could give us the option of when the tracker resets- I know I'm not the only one frustrated by the lack of this feature. We're not all office workers- nurses, doctors, police officers, warehouse workers.....millions of people are not in bed at midnight. You are alienating a huge group of people by the lack of this one, easily added, feature. Honestly, had I known that I couldn't track my actual day, which usually starts around 11 or 12 and ends around 4am, I wouldn't have bought the fitbit. I would not recommend fitbit to anyone but 9-5ers until this is resolved. And no, I don't want to change my time zone because I also use it as a watch. Please fix in next software update. Thank you

Yes, please fix this. It makes no sense that midnight is reset time, and that it can't be changed. Even for non-night-owls, surely it makes sense that any exercise done at 1am is far more likely to be before sleep than after, so should be included in the previous day not the next one.

I use an unsatisfactory workaround of setting my time-zone to be two hours West of me, but that means all my exercise per hour graphs are out by two hours.

I would LOVE an option to set your start time. Like the many, many others in this thread, I'm a night shift worker. (6pm-6am) so my typical day starts around 3-4pm, and I'm often in bed by 8-9am. The activity tracker is less problematic because I end up getting my steps it's just that one night for me always counts across two days. So it's frustrating but not too difficult. What becomes the bigger issue is water and food tracking. I'm forced to use other to log food and water to see if I'm meeting my goals for the day because fitbit cuts off my day at midnight, which is only half way through my day. The new hourly activity tracker is also completely useless for anyone who is a night person or night worker. It will not span across two days, so it's just a complete waste.

I work third shift and would appreciate if something was changed so everything could be changed to when I'm actually walking vs sleeping. There should be a option to select your work shift , I can set my sleep time but can't set any other time. I know I'm not the only other person who works third shift and I'd like to be able to use my fitbit to it's full potential.

The same exact menu as 'Start Week On' except it is 'Start Day At' and within that menu you can set the time of day to have daily stats reset, night shift workers will understand this need.

I can elaborate more for anyone who needs to understand why.
Thank you!

If you work afternoons or midnights, you can't adjust the Hourly Activity Goal to reflect that.  For example, I work 4pm until 4am.  However, the Hourly Activity Goal only allows 4pm-12am.

Can you please fix this?  Shift work is a VERY common thing...am surprised this simple thing could be overlooked.

I am a night owl.  I also work in both Eastern and Central time zones (Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, etc.) My prefered day seperated would be 05:00(-4:00 EST).  Also, when I go from CST to EDT between 23:00 and 00:00 CST (00:00 - 01:00 EST) my fitbit double counts my stats.

Disappointed there is no way to manually enter the fitbits reset time. Midnight is inconvient when you work night shift.... 😞

I'm a night shift worker and I'd like to be able to set my days for step count/exercise to start and end at a time of my choosing. Now my counts end at midnight, but that's the middle of my day. Even just a noon to noon selection would be better. The best care would be that I could assign my day/24hr period to start at the time I choose.

I recently starting using the Flex, which I love, but was disappointed to find out you can't do anything about when the stats start over. I've looked into it and it seems a lot of other people are in my position where they work overnight shifts (in my case 6:30 pm to 5 am) and would like to customize when their "day" starts so their stats aren't cut in half at midnight. It would be easy enough to implement an idea like "Saturday afternoon - Sunday morning, Sunday afternoon - Monday morning, etc." instead of an exclusive day-by-day breakdown.

I understand this might make things a bit awkward when it comes to daily challenges between friends who are on a normal schedule, but as someone who isn't interested in the social aspect of these devices I would love the convenience of being able to set my daily stat refresh times. I hate having to go through the trouble to calculate how much I walk in a day at work.

Hello, I am a long time third shift/ graveyard hours worker. One major annoyance that I have always had with any of these services is that they do not take into account the 24 hour day that many people function on. I wake at 1330 in the afternoon work around my house and property until a little after 1800 and work a grave shift until 0700 the next day. This leaves me with half of my movement time divided by two different days and the same goes for my meals. Is there a way through an update that we can add this feature. Something to make it so that your day starts when you wake up? Thanks.

I like your idea, though I suspect that fitbit would have to think about how to implement it in the context of its challenges which start at midnight of the person who started the challenge.

If you adapt your day to start at 1330 but you start a challenge that defaults to midnight, your daily total would be different than your challenge steps for the day.  This will create confusion for newbes, and challenges already create some confusion across timezones because if you are playing against someone who started the challenge in different TZ from you, your challenge and daily steps will be different.

I would really appreciate being able to set my fitbit to reset at a time I choose. I work untill 3:30 am and I would like to reset my steps when I am actually sleeping not at midnight.

I would like to add my voice to this request. I also work the graveyard shift and would like to benefit from all my Fitbit features through "my working hours".

I am certain Fitbit will find a way to satisfy all their customers.

It would be amazing if I could customize the time at which my Fitbit zeros out for the day. Currently it goes back to zero at midnight, but I work overnights this makes my tracking inaccurate. If I could customize the reset time I could accurately count daily steps, calories in/out, and set the movement reminders to be for 8pm-2am which I currently can not do. Please consider the people who do shift work and allow us to accurately track our daily fitness.

I work overnights too and I would really like to have this feature.  I know a lot of my co-workers with Fitbits feel the same.  It seems like it would be such an easy feature to add, please consider it!

I would also like this feature. Working graveyard means your day is split between two dates.

There should be a better solution than changing the time zone.

These two suggestions are duplicate requests:

Daily reset time

Reminder to move for night shift.

Please keep it to one request per suggestion, so it will be known which request is being voted on

With so many night shift nurses in the world I don't understand why this can't be an option. I'm annoyed that my steps get spilt up into separate days and it allow me to change any settings of what hours I would like to track...

This has been suggested before, but if it is just that you want to change "midnight" so that your stats restart at a different hour, you can go to account settings, then go to advance settings, and turn off "set automatically" on your timezone settings and then change it to a TZ where midnight matches the hour you want to start your stats at.

This workaround does not negate the need for the feature request because your fitbit will show the wrong time for the TZ you are actually in -- and if you use it as a watch that's a pain in the butt.  Still, it would put all your daily stats in the same 24 hour period which is a plus for many on this feature request (and if you have a flex or flex 2, you don't have a display for time anyway).
