Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

I have an Alta this replaced my watch I need the time for documentation and use 24 hour time. Changing my time zone would be a burden I'm not willing to bear. I feel like for the number of people who do shift work it would be worth it for them to figure out the way to incorporate this feature.

I agree, I work 11pm-7am and can never seem to meet goals or monitor my sleep pattern. I was really upset that this had been an ongoing problem, posted about since 2014...that's 2 years ago. I was hoping to find some way around it but I guess having the Charge HR for a watch also is now pointless since I'm going to have to set it to a different time zone.

Work-arounds are not solutions.

I totally agree they aren't SOLUTIONS at all, I'm hoping FITBIT will at
some point realize we need more options

@ShadeScribe true but the solution needs to come from Fitbit, so currently there is only work arounds for the user.

Personally I don't have a problem, I work 1500 to 0400 and realize that a day is 24 hours no matter when I work.

Since there was no refers cd to which post you responded to had to do some serching.

Night shift worker here! It is really irritating that to resets in the middle of my day... Please make a feature to track past midnight.

I would love the option to change the reset time.  I often hit the eliptical for 20 minutes before bed, but if it's after midnight, it counts it as tomorrows workout 😕

To be honest, if it can track sleep, I'm kinda shocked it doesn't have the option to reset once I've gone to sleep.  At the very least, we should have the option to pick a reset time.  Midnight is pretty inconvenient for anyone who's typically up until 1 or 2 am.  Would love to see this in a firmware update 🙂

I totally agree with the sleep tracking for reset feature!

As a night shift nurse I find it extremely frustrating to try and track my activity and calories in vs out when everything resets at midnight. For calories I usually end up going off the day I woke up on, but that is rarely accurate, especially when I'm off one night and work the next. It would be wonderful (and I'd take it a lot more seriously) if we could change the reset time for those of us that work opposite hours from the 'norm'...

Why not just choose when our individual day resets. It works be similar to how fantasy football is. Without being able to set or own reset day it makes it impossible to do challenges or any of the water tracking or food tracking.

This is very annoying not being able to reset your day according to YOUR schedule. Most people are sleeping at midnight. I have read ALOT of complaints about this, on all devices. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

I work from 6pm to 4am and think it would be great if you could choose what time you'd like the reset time to be.  At midnight, which is the default reset time, I still have four hours of work left.  I know a lot of prefessions that work crazy hours and feel this would be a good option.

It seems this has been an issue since 2014, are there any new upgrades that can help the third shift community since then? I have read the workarounds but none seem to work successfully, currently my FITBIT is set on Bangladesh time however my phone is on CST and there are a few hours every day when the two devices are not in sync. It seems unorthodox that I would also have to adjust the time zone on my phone in order to accommodate a faulty FITBIT. Please advise if any better solutions have been implemented in the last two years to help the community that keeps everything running while you get your z's.

For as long as this suggestion has been up here, and as many people as there are that work nights, it's a little upsetting that this suggestion hasn't been implemented yet. I work nights. I use my Alta as both a watch, and for the tracking. If fitbit wants their products to be used properly as both (which they seem to, given that their offerings on the market are more and more watch-like), then the only workaround available for us if we want our day to reset at the proper time...isn't one. I look forward to seeing Fitbit implement this.

I stopped using my Fitbit Alta I will be looking for an activity tracker that is more accurate for my lifestyle after the holidays. If I fine one I'll let you all know. I liked my Fitbit Alta, but I don't want a work around I want something that works. I used it as a watch and activity tracker and calorie counter now I don't use it at all.

Same here, 641 votes and my blaze which is obviously designed as a watch cannot be set to change reset time... I'm frequently up past midnight and never get up before about 10am so it's a bit of a waste as if I eat past midnight I can't easily see it against calories out unless I take it over 2 days... same thing about time zone... it's supposed to be to tell me the time

I like the idea of what Apple has so at night time your phone dosen't use blue light which is bad for your eyes. I think the same thing should be there for the Fitbit Blaze so that people can go to bed right after you look at today's stats and not have to worry about health risks of blue light.

I tried searching but couldn't get the search function to work right, so I apologize if this has already been suggested.

I am a nurse who works night shift. So on the days I work, I sleep all day (8:30 am- 4:30 pm) and work all night (6:30 pm- around 7:30 am). This obviously messes with my statistics and steps since everything resets at midnight. It would be AMAZING if there was a setting that allows you to manually set the hours for your 24 hour "day" or even a night shift setting that resets at noon instead of midnight if you wish.

The feature to be able to change the time the day starts / resets itself I would like as a night worker so I can record the full nights work activitives in one review rather than having to work it out over the 2 days even just a midday or midnight setting would suffice

I would find it extremely helpful to be able to adjust the time in which the 24 hour clock resets. In my job we typically work late night shifts. I would really like to see my day start at 6 AM and end at 5:59 AM or maybe even 7 to 7 or 8 to 8. I find it extremely frustrating that I miss my daily goals because I am asleep due to my late night shifts and my daytime sleeping... even more frustrating is when a friend beats being in competition because the competition ended well I am in the middle of a work shift.

I too agree with being able to set the start of your day and the end.

I wrote a whole big explanation as to why - and it was accidentally deleted (by me).

Anyway - it's really important for those of us with different schedules. Should be something that can be updated in app - so that, as the new models come out - the old ones have the ability to adjust day start and day end.

Is it that difficult to do?? PLEASE help those of us with different schedules. This is the ONLY (big) problem I have with my Fitbit.....and it looks like people have been asking for this for a while now. 😉
