Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

This has my vote! Fitbit, love ya, hope you’re listening. I really need this feature 🙂

I've been looking at other brands as well. I haven't used my fit bit in
over a year for the same reason. I cant. One little update is all it
would take but until then it does not function for my lifestyle.

Yeah I have some family that works nights with me and they are looking at Fitbit but I'm thinking at this point harming would be better since it seems that Fitbit doesn't care about its customers

Please add this feature! I'm sure the feature would require a lot of back end reworking and is not just as simple as a lot of these comments are suggesting. But the 12 hour time zone "fix" that I've seen posted elsewhere doesn't work either. I can set my fit bit to a 12 hour difference so the watch reads the same time but my phone or pc clock overwrites it anytime I try to do anything. Work outs are added to the wrong day. Food is added to the worng day. The only thing that works in sleep tracking.

If sleep tracking can carry over midnight, why can't steps or calorie tracking carry over and end when we set it to end?

I'm very disappointed to find out I can't use some features because I work night shift. I want a discount on my purchase since I paid as much as a daywalker does.

Set up so i can monitor for night's cause this app is pointless for me and many others if you can't fix it. 12 of my co-workers did not download the app cause you can't convert to this simple task......sad

Please can Fitbit do something to represent shift workers and realise we don’t work 9-5 Mon-Fri. I don’t always have the same bed time / wake up time due to my shift pattern. I’m sure there will be something you can do?

Fitbit please, please put a spot in the app to set a time to end the day. This midnight end of the day only works for some people. You know that the world doesn’t only run from 9-5. Please help out the people that keep the world turning after the sun goes down. We aren’t asking the world just one little thing.

I’ve seen the suggestions to change the time zone and that isn’t an acceptable answer. That makes all the watch/alarm/date functions useless. Help the people out please.

I do agree I'm in the military and don't live on a normal schedule and my schedule can change on a dime and if I could change the rest time for the day. It would help me track my day

I agree his would be a great idea.  I am a bartender working evenings and people don’t stop drinking cocktails at midnight.  Would be nice to be able to start/ my “fitbit” day at a different hour.

Fitbit user for over 2 years when will the company hear our pleas to add a feature to allow for tracking for people who work nightshifts!!!!!!!!

Yes!  Sometimes at midnight, i will have 20K steps.  I can’t always stop at midnight to check how many steps i have.

An option for those of us who work past midnight would be lovely. I don’t even manage to get to the gym until 1-2am.

all I want is to be able to manually change my reset time. I don’t usually go to bed until almost 4am. Having my stats change at midnight is not working for me. And I don’t want to change my time zone, because then I can’t use my Fitbit as a watch. How pointless.

If I’m working out and tracking my calories And caloric deficit, it would be nice to be able to see it on my app. This is kind of nonsense.

You’d think they would have fixed this by now, but it doesn’t seem like they care much.

I work night shift so my Fitbit counts steps from 2pm one day to 4am the next day and my days don't necessarily follow the traditional 'by date' including water intake and food. It would be great to have an option, at least with water and food entries, to access previous dates but also if someone could take a look at a way around the app for different lifestyles that are actually in need of a healthy option and a reason to choose it. The fast food industry and other night shift style jobs see higher calorie intake, less exercise due to the awkward times and smaller access to fitness facilities, and higher levels of depression. I would love to see a fitness company tackle this head on.

You would think so. I am now checking on other options with other devices. I can sell this one on craigslist. Looks like I made a mistake buying a fitbit.

I work in a warehouse over night and one day I can be moving all over the place and other not so much, but it is split between 2 days because I work from 4:30 pm to 3:00 am. I was considering purchasing one (I am currently using my mom’s) but will not unless the ability to change the reset time is added. I will find a different device that can if it isn’t added soon. I’m tired of having to try and figure out how many steps I took during a particular shift and starting a new shift already over halfway to the goal. Honestly I don’t care about the goal, I just want to see how much I am moving for each shift, which I can’t do with the current set up... And changing the time for me is not an option... if only one of the compatible apps could do the math for us...

I agree. Let me know if there is another device that will set the time. I will sell mine and buy the other one.

Hi,

I am not a midnight to midnight person. Therefore it would be great if the resetting time or when the day starts time could be set individually. I go to sleep at 2h00 pretty much every day.

Thanks for the consideration!

Come on FitBit this idea has been around since 2013! We need to get more people to upvote and comment guys so us night shifters can enjoy our Fitbits as well! So far I’m loving my Fitbit so much more than my old Apple Watch, but a night shift feature would be amazing and really set you guys apart from the rest!

Unquote: I love the simplicity of my fitbit Flex 1 and all the community and challenges but come on! It's time to change the time set issue PLEASE!!! Indeed it would definitely help you stand out and bring back a lot of people who are dropping you I believe! Thank you Fitbit team!

Please make the Night/Day SHift adjustable. Trying to Count Calories and etc. Is a pain when you have Medical issues and use the Fitbit for support! Eating when you start work at 400pm then at midnight have lunch and now all your calories are on a Different day to calculate and separate.
