Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

Cool. Still not going to use Fitbit products anymore as they are clearly
ignoring 3+ year old requests. Poor customer interaction.

Same for me.  I manage a restaurant and go to bed around 3 am.  I'd love to have my day and a Fitbit day be the same.

Fitbit team....surely someone can manage this update.  If the Fitbit is to provide accurate information for a person's health, it would be important to have the tool (Fitbit) to provide accurate reporting.  Currently, I would discourage this tool for anyone that works something other than a "Normal" day shift.  Had I known this to be the issue, I would not have purchased one for my husband.  Please do an update.

Exactly how my wife feels. Not sure what it will take for FB to address this.

Its absolutely uncalled for that we are still no closer to an answer and no word from fb

Somehow we must unite!  There are many hard working people working long hours on alternate and night shifts. The lower level fitbit website people with no clue are covering up our issues to higher management.  What else could it be that fb have not responded to the requests for alternative reset times and active hours?

Jay Kershner is the VP of Customer Support.  I am hoping that he will read the thread. Just in case, I'm tweeting to Fitbit to ask for a response. Would be nice to have an update on this issue.  @FitbitSupport

Please add an option to change what time the Fitbit starts counting steps and other data for the new day. I am typically up past midnight, and will soon be working the night shift. I would rather the day change over at 3am so I don't get up and still have some steps from the previous night.

I have been wearing Fitbits for almost 3 years, and I always wanted this. Surprised no one else submitted it. I used to accomplish this on my Flex by changing the account timezone, but with the trackers that include a clock, this isn't really an option.

Thank you!

yes, I agree anyone working a night shift will have this problem. I am also surprised this hasn't had more attention. I guess anyone who this affects is to sleepy to write about it.

Yes!!! Please do this Fitbit, otherwise you are fantastic... with all this tech it should be so simple 🙂

It really should be simple, all they have to do is install something like an AM/PM setting, just flick one way or the other when your working days or nights, sounds so simple to me, and they could advertise, GREAT FOR SHIFT WORKERS! Wouldn't you buy that? 😊😊😊😊

Great idea. I hope they do something. Very frustrating to have a few steps to goal and have the clock roll past midnight!! Best of luck to you. Vivian

Please please please update this.  It's so confusing to have the day be off that much that I don't even bother to use my Blaze.  Wish I could return it.  As using it a lot before I went to 2nd shift.  My day is 1200 to 0400...calories and steps mean nothing if you split them in half...makes the app worthless.

I've also stopped wearing mine for the same reason, haven't wore in about a year now 😔

Well... this thread is from 2015 so I assume this feature is not going to happen any time soon. I just ate a protein bar after the gym at 11:50 and, by the time I rode home it was after midnight and that protein bar will be a dirty little secret I keep from fitbit because, not only did the day turn over but I can't seem to add it on to the previous day.
(that's another feature we should have, the 'oops! I forgot to log those 3 Banana Splits yesterday!' edit feature.)

You actually can add food to the previous day.  Just go to the add food page and click on the day you want to put the food on...still annoyed by the step/calories burned though...poor customer service...I was basically told they had more important issues to fix than this one.

Usually to add a food to the previous day, you have to log the food like normal, but change the date before hitting the submit button. That fixes it for me. And yeah I doubt a shift change will ever occur with fit bit which sucks. All of my coworkers would love fit bits but what's the point when everything you do is split up so your (according to fitbit) over eating and drinking and your steps are all weird

Maybe they do. But I know they're losing a good portion of the market because of this and the second someone actually does allow this, I know I'll be going with them. Fitbit or not. I want my progress to be tracked accurately

I totally agree! I've actually been looking & will continue to check out new fitness trackers specifically for that feature. It's so annoying that Fitbit doesn't seem to care about 2nd or 3rd shift users.

Thanks! I'll try that.

This isn't a joke, right?  I just spent almost $200 on an item made by a company that has made no progress on a feature suggestion made 4 years ago, and has 18 pages of comments/supports of the feature.  Glad to see my money was well spent.  The "solution" of changing the time zone is not a solution and is not an acceptable response; by doing so, an entire feature of the product is removed - you can't use it to (easily and effortlessly) tell time anymore!  I did not pay $200 for something that I cannot use for ALL of its features.  Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous.  I plan on returning mine, unless this miraculous gets solved.  And I'm sure the business lost due to this is only drop in the bucket for Fitbit, so they won't change a thing because they have no advantage to.

I'm surprised this fix has not happened,  as I night shift worker I can completely relate to this issue.  Fitbit pull your finger out and sort it out.

I am another night shift worker looking to fix the Active Hours to my schedule, being restricted by Midnight. I work 7PM to 730AM Surely after all this time someone has found a way to make this happen.

Hello nightowldesigns,

Welcome to our club that has not received any reply from fitbit regarding the subject.  I've written notes in different forums trying to get the attention of fitbit management.  I guess we just don't matter.  My work shift is 9:30PM to 6AM, sometimes 6 days per week.  Why don't we all do a snail mail campaign about the importance of people on alternate shifts requiring the proper active hours set on our devices?  Does anyone know a good mailing address and contact at fitbit?  Take care.
