Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

Exact same thing here.
I too am a nurse and I work overnights. Usually I go to sleep at 7am and my wake time varies based on my shift start time. Currently my shift schedule is fluid and changes frequently. Most days I'm schedule from 9pm-7am. Others Im scheduled 1pm-11pm. Some days I work 18 hour shifts and hardly sleep at all. This leaves me with rather inaccurate step and sleep tracking, which are the primary reasons I bought this tracker in the first place...

A 24hr day or 12pm (day start) option would be SPECTACULAR. Heart

Home Care Nurse here.

I work a fluid schedule. I, literally, do not work the same hours every day. Most days my shifts start at 1300, 1700, or 2100. Some days I work 18+ hours. Regardless of start time during my work week, I am never home and/or able to go to bed before 0730. This means that the majority, or at least 7 hours of my day, are lost to the midnight reset.

Please. Give us 3rd shifters an option to change this. Even just to switch the reset to 12/noon. Please.

I purchased my Charge 2 specifically for the auto-sleep and step tracking features. Because it's one of the very few products on the market to offer automatic sleep tracking. Given my hectic schedule, I currently rely heavily on my phone's sleep tracker (sleep as android) to track my sleep patterns and keep me aware of when I'm sleeping poorly. My SAA app requires me to remember to turn tracking on and place the phone somewhere on my bed with me- I'm often burnt out by the time I lay down and forget to do this- hence why fitbit's auto-sleep tracker is so important to me.

Furthermore, given my already demanding lifestyle, I don't regularly do workouts- I've not seen the inside of a gym since I was in school- and most of the time I barely have time to eat, let alone track the calories of what I do. The extra fluffy features are nice for when I do have time for those things (say, the rare day off), but they seem extravagant compared to an option to switch which 12 hour (am/pm) cycle starts and finishes recording my steps for the day....

Just to be clear-- I purchased it SPECIFICALLY for auto-sleep and step tracking as it was the highest recommended and best reviewed piece on the market for those two features. I actually found it while searching for "best wearable sleep tracker 2017". I've been trying to replace my Basis Peak since the recall, and have yet to find anything that comes close (besides Pebble which was also taken off the market after being bought out and subsequently shut down........). I thought the Charge 2 would be the next best thing, but this issue really throws a wrench in that theory.

I hate to come off as frustrated as I really am here, but let's face it; for $250, if the product can't accurately track the two things I purchased it for simply because I work the opposite 12 hours of the day.... Sadly, the return policy might be looking like my best option. For that kind of money in today's tech, there HAS to be something out there to offer what I need...

Maybe I just purchased the wrong FitBit for me and need to try a different model (do any of the fitbits with auto-sleep tracking offer the option to change reset times?)- regardless, I'm really missing my Basis Peak right now. Smiley Sad

@AshlynnBones If I'm not mistaken, none of the Fitbit allow change on the reset time. It's not just Fitbit. All the other competitors like Garmin, Misfit, etc work the same way 😕 . No idea why

I AGREE! I am a night shift nurse and am only able to put in half of my shift for activity reminders (4p-11p). I wish I could have the ability to choose my reset time to 12pm and not 12am.

I just want to add my voice to so many others who have already made this suggestion - is there/when will there be, an option to change when you're day starts. I'm an RN and work majority of my shifts from 3300-0700 hrs. It's a pain when my blaze automatically resets at midnight.

Considering how many others have noted this, I am wondering when we might see this update.

Thanks

Shift workers. Sometimes our "days" are 7a-7p; 7p-7a; 3p-3a; etc.  Give us the option to "start" our day when we wake up (instead of just auto-reset at) 12am. It seems to muck up the data for the day. It will show "inactivity" from 9a-4p... which is just me sleeping then will split my steps per day during my shift (7p-7a) d/t the auto reset at 12am. There has to be a way to make this work. ex- we hit a button/setting when we end our day to go to sleep, then another when we wake. It would take some getting use to  - but no different than turning off an alarm.

I am a night shift worker as well and just purchased my Fitbit last week. I called their customer service number about this issue and they instructed me to write a suggestion post which I did. It's very frustrating to see that this has been a concern for several years and Fitbit has yet to address it. I will probably take my Blaze back this week smh

We've been wanting a change for a long while, the Fitbit just doesn't work for night shift workers 😡

As a college student with night classes this would be a wonderful feature. Midnight is nowhere near my bedtime and as I wake up at like noon it makes no sense for this to be my reset time.

Inclusion of everyone's different lifestyles would be great.

A feature I believe a lot of people would need would be to be able to personalize your fitbits reset time based on your schedule. I know I'm not the only one who works past 12am and I would love to be able to make my fit bit reset later that that. Hopefully this change could be made...and hopefully soon! 🙂

Yes! I work nights as a manager in a restaurant. I usually don't go to bed until 5 am (ish) and wake up around 1 pm. Trying to track my calories and food/etc. is a real pain in the butt. All it would take is an update, right?

Maybe we should take our problems to a different Company, Fitbit is not bothering with us, if another company came up with a solution they would make a mint! Any suggestions?

Yeah, I'm with Evelynwhalen, next tracker I get will be researched for this function. I'll post here if I find the brand that supports its customers and can accommodate a seemingly simple feature.

I am in the process of returning my fitbit right now actually.
If enough of us do this maybe theyll address it.

Yes please do guys but sometime ago (2 months more or less) I contacted other brands like Garmin and Misfit and spoke to their costumer service. None of them have this function either. Misfit, at the time, didn't even track sleep during the day at all. Let us know if you have any luck

I just sent this to customer support. I say we inundate them with emails about this. Maybe start bringing it up in fitbit's social feeds too.

Maybe that hat will help as they don't seem to have anyone to read or moderate the help community

fingers crossed.

Yes! But not just two choices. It shouldn't be difficult to adjust the time settings to any time. I hit the sack at 3am and am often riding my bike home from work through midnight. It's ridiculous that we can't set our days to whatever 24 hour cycle fits our lifestyles. There are SO many night shift workers out there that could use this. I'm on a thread in the fitbit community, I'll bring folks over here to vote this baby up!

HEY EVERYBODY!
Go vote-up this feature suggestion. I was sent a reply to go and check out the feature suggestion board and I found this:

maybe if we vote the crap out'a this someone somewhere will notice.

I am a rotating shift worker. I would like the option of being able to pre-configure the coming week(s) to a certain schedule and then have my performance during that specific schedule period be retained as recorded in my history. I can adjust my schedule now, but then those changes overwrite my saved history.

I up voted that and also a few others on the same topic. Thanks for
