Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

I am right there with you. I do not understand why fitbit hasn't addressed
this yet.

please resolve the reset time problem, your competition is way ahead. My coworkers have no problems usings their samsung gear to capture acurate night shift data.

Lots of night owls and shift workers need more flexibility with time period captured. Please enable this flexibility.

There are so many new companies making these...many with more features (GPS for running example) that I'm shopping elsewhere.  If fitbit hasn't responded in 4 years, pretty sure they won't.

This is exactly where I am. I love the style and app but it doesn't work
for my hours. So disappointed.

Doesn't seem like this is any issue for fitbit. Once again us night shifters are left out.

If your Fitbit can sense when you're sleeping and when you wake up, it should reset upon waking up. That way, for those of us that do not have set schedules, we don't have to worry about changing time zones, or do any other "quick fixes", that don't actually fix the issue.

My thoughts exactly!

Or maybe the app could ask after sensing you've been asleep if this was
your actual bedtime or just a long nap and then adjust accordingly. I've
been guilty of an extra long nap that would have reset my day I'm sure,
lol.

I would love to be able to have multiple settings for the active hours. I have a normal schedule durring the week mon-fri so my active hours are daylight hours, but on the weekends i work midnight shift. It would be awesome to be have 2 different sets of active hours and get reminders to move accordingly!

I also work night shifts. 2 days on 2 nights on 4 days off all 12 hour shifts.

I agree with everyone wanting to be able to use workout data steps etc for each day without reset at midnight.

I also like the idea someone posted about linking daily reset to sleep patterns.

Maybe this could just be an option, not a setup for all. So anyone doing night shifts can turn on a setting which only resets daily activity when your sleeping or (not wearing fibit) for more than say 2 hours.

That might cover alot of issues.

With my own routine, I sleep for an hour before my first night. 5 to 6 hours in between nights and 3 or 4 hours after last nightshift

Thanks

I've just purchased a Fitbit Charge 2 and am faced with this same issue. My entire week is based on a schedule starting at 4pm going through until 9am the next morning. 12am is the essentially the peak of my day and it's been a real issue having all of my stats reset to 0 during that time.

The only way to help this issue is to either set your time on the watch to a different time zone, or just add up your days worth of stats manually. Neither require much effort but I believe that it is the principal of the matter that is the most frustrating; numerous people have complained and commented and voted on this matter and even though Fitbit representatives respond, Fitbit as a company still has not addressed the issue and corrected it.

I understand that technological issues take time and money, but other devices receive patches and alterations all the time to correct mistakes and roll out new features. I also understand that people who work later hours, or don't conform to the archetypal 9 to 5 schedule, probably don't make up the primary demographic of Fitbit product users, but they do hold a place in the community and are very dissatisfied with the issue and the lack of willingness to actually fix the issue. I've read countless variances of this same problem on the forums of people on alternative schedules that have hundreds of up votes and comments empathizing  with the issue dating all the way back to 2014 (that I have noticed). I am commenting in the middle of 2017, 3 years later, and this problem still has not been fixed. As previously stated, I understand that issues take time and resources to correct, but it's been years now for what seems to be a relatively small issue. Honestly, changing the time that the device resets your stats seemed like such an easy task that I didn't even bother to research whether that would be a problem for me and my schedule.

**If I have missed some forum somewhere where this issue has been correctly addressed, not saying to add stats manually after the rest or to change to a different time zone, then I deeply apologize and would definitely love to be redirected to read more about it.

by changing the time zone  you need to wear both a watch and  a fit bit its a bit ridiculous.

If I change from EST to hong kong time 12 hr difference the time might look right BUT the calendar day will still be wrong.

Its always going to be wrong

I too wish there was a way to change when my fit bit resets... I work the night shift 2200-0830 7 on 7 off...

It would be so beneficial if I could change the reset time from week to week as I do try to keep a regular life schedule when off. And it would be even more beneficial if I could set the time change to whatever I want..

Also, it would be nice if I could change the Activity hours...

I will try this new fitbit for a few weeks and see if I can adjust...if not I may just take it back...

Working overnight security, it would be nice to be able to use the "move" notification but it is impossible with the way this is now. Sadly, I feel not enough overnight workers use a fitbit and this request will be ignored. It is a feature that should have been implemented to begin with.

This is a very needed feature because the Steps in a day are ow split between 2 days. Not everyone works a traditional 8 hour daytime job and sleeps from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am. I sleep from about 4:30 am to 10:30 or 11:00 am. I work from 4:00 pm until 2:30 - 5:00 am. so my work day steps are actually split between two days. this stinks.

Exactly the ability to set the reset time to one that fits your individual lifestyle is essential. Telling one to change the time zone only results in never seeing the correct time nor the correct day of the month! Thus you have to wear another watch which renders the charge 2 in watch form absurd

I just got my fitbit charge 2 after having a fitbit One in the past and was really sad to see that this option has not yet been implemented. I am not going to pretend like I know how to do programming because I don't, but I will say that it has been a couple years with a lot of newer models coming out and this SEEMS like an easy feature to add with "will you be wearing this on your left hand or right" - next question should be "reset time is set at 12am would you like to change" boom. Done. Programmed. List in settings for future changes.

Like many people on here I work 5p-3a my husband works 4p-2a and he just bought himself the AltaHR, I will have to relay this news to him.

I work night shift and I view my "day" as the time I wake up (1400 or around there) until I go to bed (0600). I would like to see an option to choose when we start our day. The issue I've run into is the reminder alarm to get up and walk 250 each hour. I want to set if for the hours of 1400-0400 - the hours I AM AWAKE. The rotation clock will allow you to choose 1400 to begin...but it won't flip the times around the loop to reach 0400!  Frustrating! I love my Fitbit but I don't understand why this can't be adjusted.

To the ones saying split your day and add the two together....this is last resort but how irritating. I don't to have to remember that my breakfast at 1400 Wednesday needs to be added to my dinner at 0200 Thursday. That's just crazy. Please Fitbit....update this feature for all your nurses, firefighters, police officers, dispatchers....

As a paramedic I work midnights. You should be able to set your Fitbit to midnights and chose your new day start time!

Another overnighter here. Desperately need this feature because basically Fitbit is useless to us. Please make it happen soon!
