Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

Please make it where we can personalize the day's start and end time. I work nights and it's a problem tracking a daily workout.

Just got my first fitbit today, disappointed this function is not implemented.

I still don't understand how this isn't a feature. The blaze costs several hundreds of dollars yet a 10 pedometer has a reset feature that allows for overnighters to accurately count and track steps.

I work permanent nights and it would be so nice if you could manually set the times of which the fitbit resets itself.....fitbit tech please take note

@CapTanTan so what is it your asking for?

I work 4PM-3AM and would like to see an option to set my schedule to reflect those hours. It's frustrating when everything restarts at midnight, and I can't see an accurate account of my steps, food and water, and other stats. There are far too many people working night shifts that deserve this option for it to be neglected. Please take the time to rectify an issue that renders the entire system frustrating to use for a large percentage if your customers.

It would be beneficial if, when you change timezones so that the time changes causes you to jump over midnight, it would detect that.  Last I checked, it would just have the second day with the steps from the first counted again.

Example:.

Day 1: 11000 steps

Cross timezone line and jump from 11:34pm to 12:34am

Day 2: 12000 steps

Fitbit for day 2: 23000 steps

Maybe I thought I could set up to track that time as my 'day' so I can say I walked 17,500 today. Instead of it resetting at midnight.

I work from 18:30 until 5 am so it would be nice to track my steps during that time, specifically

My suggestion would be to add your vote to the existing request that did pop up during the mandatory search that you reviewed.

Nearly December 2017...still not a feature. 😕 And the setting the time zone 12 hours ahead is not only a pain, it messes up the syncing. I also work night shift and can't believe it's nearly 2018 and this isn't a feature.

I don't want a work around on this, I don't want to adjust my time zone, frankly it is insulting that your staff says "it can't be fixed and this issue is resolved" it's not resolved, it's a paperweight. JS

It's been what..over 2 years since this fix was asked for?

Extremely disappointing that this hasn't been fixed.

You guys can rest assured, Fitbit doesn't care about our request for this feature.

I've messaged them on Twitter and keep being told to come to this exact post and up vote it, even after I tell them I already did.

Really need this feature to set my start day so that I can get and actual stat of my personal day.  I use this to monitor my activity as well as my sleep to discuss with my Doctor.

Seems like a no brainier having an option to change beginning and end of day. I work regularly until 3 in the morning and I don't want to change time zone.....as that changes the time 😞 please please include this feature

This always amazes me that this hasn’t been figured out.  I had an older cheaper pedometer, and thought that surely the way people rave about Fitbit, it has to accommodate people whose day doesn’t end at midnight. Although not on a night shift, I rarely am in bed before midnight, and consider, as many people do, that my day ends when I go to bed. Ridiculous that Fitbit disagrees.  I guess I’ll end up needing to buy a watch after all if I want an accurate time and an accurate step count for the day.

When will this be resolved? I can't believe how long it's been and how many comments are on this thread!!

It might not be as easy as you @SBKB your older pedi noted was just you and was not a part of a world wide community.

The software seems to assume that the user works 5day-2off, Mon-Fri, 9-5.

Suggestion:  allow users to define arbitrarily complex schedule sequences where each day can have individually set alarms, reminder intervals, target sleep periods, and reset points.

Work night shifts?  Want to set up Reminders to Move for the 14 continuous hours from 1700-0700?  Too bad.  You can go change it manually at midnight, then change it back every day.  You can disable the time sync option and put the time zone on the other side of the planet.

Want to see how your sleep schedule looks over the course of the week?  Here's a helpful summary visualization that runs from 1800-0900  each day and maybe catches the first hour or two before cutting off.

Took 28k steps over the last shift?  Nah, we're gonna to call it 14k and 14k.  Don't give up!  You can reach 15k!

What's that?  You work 4nights, 3off, 3days, 1off, 3nights, 3off, 4days, 7off?  Here have this "Weekend Warrior" trophy for maintaining your level of activity over Sat/Sun... Which wasn't that difficult because you were at work.  Oh, also, never have this "Workweek Hustle" trophy because you don't ever work all of Mon-Fri.

You're on a 4on-4off rotating 8hr shifts between Day, Night and Swing?  Basically have a 27 hour sleep cycle and an 8 day week?  Automation of your alarms and reminders would greatly improve you life? Ha! Sucks to be you.

On a nuclear submarine and working not 24/7 but 18/9⅓?  You could ask god to help get fitbit to support that level of customization, but prayers don't penetrate HY-80.

I have been reading through the comments from Fitbit users in the same predicament as me. Night shift workers are quite common and it is disappointing to know that Fitbit won’t or can’t supply software adaptable to shift work. The first request I saw was from as far back as 2013. I would hope that Fitbit would respond to the many requests that have accumulated since then. Many of your shift workers include police, nurses, doctors, and paramedics who deserve as much support in staying healthy as anyone else- especially since it’s known that those who work night shift have an uphill road to good health. Please make the effort to help us out Fitbit!

I cant believe our pleas are falling on def ears. I stopped using my fit
bit because of the reset happening in the middle of my workout and I would
never buy another fitbit again without this feature. It is discouraging and
frustrating. I work with over 100 people on my night shift that refuse to
purchase a fit bit because of this. Give us a reason to be proud of our
purchase and want to recommend the product. Stop giving us a reason to
avoid it.

I too have stopped using my fitbit due to this feature! I think it’s time we send a message, everyone who has stopped using Fitbit because of this lack of feature please post!

Cheers,
James
