Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

Please help us night shift workers( there are many!) ! We love the idea of fit bit but struggle with the fact that it does not allow us to track our daily activity fluidly. Recommend allowing us to change our daily start times to fit our needs. Changing the time zones to try to "trick" the system is frustrating ... plus we then have to change it back on our days off as most Night shift workers return to a normal schedule on their days off. I know many doctors nurses respiratory therapist that have given up on their fit bit because of this feature is not accommodating.. thank you so much for your help!

Same problem with sleep - why can't everything just be midnight to midnight with the ability to count things "around the corner" from 2359 to 0001? I can't even tell you how many other night shift nurses I know who wear fitbits, but the app and software has a definite bias toward day shift workers for no apparent reason.

As someone who often switches between working day shift and nights, the ability to change the reset time would be amazing.

It certainly would solve a lot for me 😊

You know, not everyone works a 9-5er. There are thousands of us who work nights to diligently, passionately, and effectively care for patients in hospitals, serve the communities with emergency care, treat animals at the local veterinary clinic, deliver goods, and manufacture products. Thousands of us work hard while everyone else is sleeping. We have goals and dreams, too, and we want our FitBits to keep up with us as accurately as the ones who are fortunate enough to have a schedule that fits FitBit's defaults. My FitBit has already changed my life in so many ways, and I know that change would be exacerbated if your company could include a feature that would allow us to change the time that the counts for the day are reset. Your devices are already so brilliant: My FitBit tells me how fast my heart is beating, how many calories I have burned today, how far I hiked, and, where my location is on this vast planet. It seems to me that a feature so simple as one that would allow me to choose what time I end my day would be feasible. Please consider this. Give us a night shift option so that we can better track the progress that we have worked so incredibly hard to achieve.

I fully agree. I work nights, 11 pm - 7 am. It's frustrating to have my stats reset "midday" during my day. Also, the "reminders to move" are such a great idea - but I cant have them begin when my day begins at 4 pm and ends when I sleep at 8 am; the software won't allow it.

I've looked into changing my Fitbit time zone to Sydney's time zone (I'm in Toronto and Sydney would give me an accurate start day time). However, it makes it so complicated to understand my daily stats as I'm constantly having to do math to add or subtract 16 hours.

Please give us this simple fix, Fitbit! 😞

- makes it so complicated to understand my daily stats as I'm constantly having to do math to add or subtract 16 hours.

- makes the time on my watch (Charge 2) inaccurate

- makes the syncing of food on myfitnesspal all over the place due to the differences in inputted timezones.

Please give us this simple fix, Fitbit! 😞

Exactly, come on FitBit, let's get going with the night shift feature.  You can do it!  I've written already about this in different areas of the community, but this is the best collection of people like me.  My working hours are 9:30 PM - 6:00 AM.  I'm missing out on registering 20K steps per day and I'm not happy about it.  That is perhaps a minor issue, but important to me.

Three years since a pretty large number of people have been asking for a seemingly simple feature. Come on Fitbit, it's not that hard. I'm a night owl and I miss out on logging my work out because of this. I could change my timezone but I like using  the fitbit as a watch too.

I am definitely disappointed to find that it has to reset at midnight, same as my old $10 pedometer.   At least the pedometer i could just set the time incorrectly to get around that, but being that fitbit is on my wrist in place of my watch, that's not a practical solution.

As someone who works in IT, and have worked with and continues to work with a lot of coders, this is something that should have been able to be addressed and implemented multiple times over by now. This simple issue not being addressed is a slap in the face to the huge number of us that work night shifts and filled the pockets of the Fitbit company with the money we spent on these devices. This is not a big request being made. We aren't talking about overhauling the entire interface. We are not asking for compatibility with a new device. We are saying we want to adjust when a 24 hour clock resets. 4+ years of asking for this feature should be telling. Make this happen.

Please please please get a night shift feature I can't find a single good way to fix this i use my watch for the time and date during my work day as it is needed and I can't alter it as the forums say I really need the ability to change start and stop day points when the 24 hours reset I can't even log my food properly. I know I'm not the only lyrics one that can benefit from this please help!

They will not be seeing my money that's for sure. This is a big big handicap, in my honest opinion. I couldn't believe when I found this feature request. Seems so basic Smiley Frustrated

It certainly seems like an easy thing for them to fix

Just a quick note, this feature is not available on other brands of fitness trackers either. I searched and emailed their costumer services. I think this feature will not be available any time soon (if ever). Well, at least Fitbit records our sleep during day time

Hey Fitbit, not everyone goes to sleep before midnight! It's unbelievable to me that FOUR YEARS and 17 pages after this thread was started, there is no option for this.

The recommendation to "just change the time zone" is nice except that then the Fitbit shows the wrong time every time you look at it. This might be slightly acceptable if you could turn off the clock display, but no, you can't do that either.

Ridiculous!

I so agree that we need a way to quickly and easily set up a 24-hour day that begins when we do each day. Actually, we probably need to have 2 blanks for us to set up - one for the work week and another for weekends.  It seems like it was overlooked.  Everything else can be altered to fit into our lives so simply,  I just wish it was, too.

Same, very disappointing my two Vodka tonics are charged as breakfast for the next day:)

We need to be able to toggle day start to whatever we want.

I am a military retiree and active police officer that works night shift. I come back to fitbit once or twice a month to check on this. My wife, a nurse, and I bought 2 fitbits just over a year ago and returned them as soon as we realized they did not track appropriately for night shift workers. Military, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Doctors, Nurses, other various medical staff, manufacturing, etc. all work night shift. How is this not already done? There is a 3D printer that is building houses, but we can't get a night shift mode on the fitbit... Come on man!

This has been a problem for almost 3.5 years on this thread and not a word from fit bit.  I'll be switching to Garmin. This is pathetic.

I'd like to suggest an option to change your active daily hours. I along with many other nurses on night shift have fitbits and it's very hard to track our "daily" progress when we work through midnight. Perhaps this could be solved by having the option to choose daily data uploads at 12 pm or 12 am. Thanks!

@BrettM901 Garmin has the same problem. They all have. Name one fitness tracker that allows you to change reset time. For example, Misfit doesn't even track your sleep during the day.
