Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

I am starting to feel like James Roellig above, that it is never gonna happen.  I wear my fitbit despite not having this much needed/requested feature, but not really getting full benefit of what fitbit can potentially do for those who live a strict daytime schedule.  And when you consider the studied health risks of night/varied shift work, we are the ones who theoretically might benefit the most from all tracking abilities.  So sad . . . .

Is this supported on any fitbit device yet? If not, I'll have to switch to another company.

I would also like to be able to adjust the fitbit's schedule to mine. I am awake from noon to 4 am so my information is not accurate. I do my walks and runs at the end of my day, around 1 am. It's hard to compete with friends when a good portion of my steps for the day have already been completed when they challenge me.

What if we all start a petition???

There should be a reset button where we could reset steps and activity, etc at any time other than midnight. Resetting at midnight isn't optimal for shift workers!

I have done my share of night shifts. I think it would be awesome to determine what I consider to be my daytime. I started my day at 4-6 pm

I am also a night shift nurse. It would be awesome if I could set my fit bit up for my schedule instead of having to figure it out on 2 separate days! I love my fit bit, but I don't love that it isn't designed to accommodate those working nights 👎

For many people working night shift, it is inconvenient to see the steps automatically reset at midnight. I understand Midnight is the start of a new day but to many night shift people a "new day" doesn't start until they wake up the next day at Noon or later.

It would be helpful to have an option to disable the auto reset so you can personalize your "day".

Example: I sometimes work out in the afternoon before work, and sometimes after work. A walk from 11:30PM-1AM would be split in to 2 separate days. I would rather see that under one day since my day really doesn't end until 3AM.

It also makes it difficult to set my Hourly Activity Goal. I cannot set a goal based off of the actual hours I am active. This could be avoided with an option to customize your specific day. (Day meaning waking up to going to sleep, not the date change at midnight) My Ideal Goal would be 2PM-2AM. That is 12 hours. When attempting this goal the phrase " Choose Between 5-14 Hours" turns red and the "ok" button is disabled. That is an inconvenience for me and many other people that work out or use a 24-hour gym at night.

Hello I am a night shift nurse and I am always losing challenges because my day doesn't start till 1 PM and at midnight my steps etc start over at midnight but I don't go to bed till 6 AM in the morning. When I join challenges I lose because my steps start over and I can't get enough steps and the amount of time that I'm awake that everybody else gets because they are up earlier. Can you create something where the user is able to set hours for steps to be tracked . Example  I wake up at 1 PM and I go to bed at 6 AM so my steps could restart at 6 AM. Not everybody works the same shift or has the same life styles but everybody wants to win challenges and get enough steps in a day. All my information isn't even accurate like I said because it all starts over the following day at midnight.

I work third shift. It would be nice to be able to choose what time you would like your day to start/stop tracking as an option in the settings.

My Charge 2 should really allow me to change the start time of my day. I sleep during the day and work at night. Thanks.

Having the app reset at midnight is a real pain. I'm right in the middle of my steps, meals, and water because I work the graveyard shift. Not allowing me to set my awake hours/active hours overnight defeats the purpose of being able to log my sleep, because the app just cuts a chunk out of the day time, but still adds the steps from the wee hours of the morning. Being able to chose when I'm awake and have the app base my days around that would make much more sense for overnight personnel, not to mention those who travel frequently.

Seconding this! My work schedule primarily has me working in the evening and up until the early morning hours, so I tend to sleep during the primary "day" hours.

Third this I'm a shift worker and switch days to nights.... I need my Fitbit to switch with me!

How is this still not a thing? This thread started in like 2014! It's now 3 years later and 24 pages long, I do believe the people have spoken!

Yes, it's truly disappointing and an incredible amount of contempt for Fitbit users....especially considering how easy it would be to implement.

Yes, it would be really nice, thanks!

FITBIT, please please trying to implement this feature. If we could choose what hour our "clock resets" in each day to cover shiftwork. For example, nightshift day ending 7am!

Got the app update the other morning....and this STILL isn't implemented.

C'mon Fitbit.....if you're not going to implement this (and you should)..could you give us a valid reason why you won't?

Honestly..this isn't that difficult of a fix.

I work graveyard shift so it is hard to keep track of my steps. By the time I look at my Fitbit it's after midnight and I have no clue how many steps I have already taken. I wish there was a way to reset when your day starts and ends. I would like mine to be from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m. a whole 24 hour period that I can keep track of my steps. I spent $125 on my Fitbit charge 2 and it's just very frustrating that I cannot get all of my steps in 24 hours at the same time.

+1 for a night shift mode. I agree that having the ability to customize day start and end, and/or start on wake-up and end on sleep, would be an extremely useful feature.

I have worked graveyard for years and this should be a no brainer. For the cost of even the simple devices (no touchscreen) I should not only be able to change what time it resets but change it for specific days of the week. For example: I work graveyard thur-sat from 6pm to 6am. On Monday-Wed I get up in the morning and live on a normal schedule.

At the very least there should be a manual option where I can select when to start and end my day.

Yes!! Thank you! This is my frustration too is how much I paid and not
being able to change the time for my work days! It's only helpful to me 2
days a week!
